Chimera Golf Club
Played On 05/26/2017One of my favorites in the LV area
Since moving to Las Vegas, this has become one of my favorites. Nice length (6500) for me, good mix of difficult and easier holes but doesn't beat you up at any time. Lots of fun to play and a great bargain if you can get on for under $40.
Boulder City Municipal Golf Course
Played On 12/11/2016Nice muni, best value in the Vegas area
We drive down from Las Vegas to play here often because it's so much more reasonably priced than the local courses. You won't get the amenities and service of a $100 course but, hey, it's golf for under $20. The course is fairly straightforward but there are some challenging holes. Greens are very tricky and fast. You'll see some locals playing in jeans but as long as everyone knows basic golf etiquette and keeps up, I'm OK. We had a good time playing with 2 other guys yesterday.
Black Mountain Golf & Country Club - Founders/Desert Course
Played On 11/22/2016Not bad for the price
Having just moved to the Las Vegas area, I hadn't played here before but decided to take a chance for $20. It's a little crammed into a housing/industrial development, some of the scenery is less than ideal but it was still golf. The greens are small and fast, the fairways are not what you'd get at a $60 course, the traps were hard-packed. But the staff was friendly, we played in 3 1/2 hours, the weather was perfect and I still enjoyed myself.
Desperado/Diablo at Badlands Golf Club
Played On 06/23/2015Nice but not my style
Used a $30 GolfNow deal for two of us, which was a great bargain. The course is nice and scenic with some mountains in the background (and some HUGE houses on a few holes). My issue is with the design, just overly punishing for the average golfer. I'm about a 12 hdcp, I'll hit some good shots but I'll miss my share of fairways and greens also. I don't mind missing and having to punch out from behind a tree, or a bunker but, on this course, your ball is gone if you miss. I even lost a few balls after they hit the fringe because the dropoffs are so severe around the greens. My wife didn't care for it because it had too many forced carries. Many times she had to lay up rather than try to hit the perfect shot. Maybe this is fun for some golfers, not really for me personally.
Primm Valley Golf Club - Lakes Course
Played On 06/18/2015Great value near LV
We always play here when visiting Las Vegas. Only 40 minutes from town and a much better deal than anything in Las Vegas. Greens had been aerated recently but not too bad. All other conditions were excellent. Lakes course is layed out nicely with a good mix of long and short holes, challenging but doesn't beat you up. Nice scenery, friendly staff. Couldn't beat the GolfNow rate of 26 at 10:20 am. We'll be back!
The Timbers at Troy
Played On 10/25/2014Excellent Value for the GolfNow deal
I paid about $37/person, include GolfNow fees on a nice Saturday (around noon), normally $55. The course was in reasonable shape considering it's late October and rained heavily a few days before. Traps were a mess but greens and fairways were in good shape. We were paired up with another 2-some but they were so slow, we eventually just broke off on our won. Played the front 9 in 2 hours. The back 9 bogged down to close to 2 1/2 hours. Fun design with lots of variety and elevation changes. Some long and short holes, a few forced carries. Houses are not very noticeable. Overall, a fun day of golf.
Royal Niagara Golf Club - Escarpment Course
Played On 06/15/2014Very organized, and a fun round
The starter was super-organized. We had a cart with a card on it with our name and starting time. We were paired up with 2 locals (we were visiting from the US) who were good to play with. Groups were separated enough so that we didn't have to wait, or have a group wait for us until the last few holes. Very challenging but fun course!
Primm Valley Golf Club - Desert Course
Played On 6/5/2013No waiting on a hot afternoon
We played (2-some) at 1:00 just after arriving in Las Vegas, when it was over 100 degrees for $29. We managed to get out just before a few groups and breezed through in 3 1/2 hours. It was our 2nd time playing this course, beautiful and fun without beating you up. The greens had been worked on a few weeks before so were not in perfect condition but still a great course. Much better deal than paying $100+ in town and it's only a 35 minute drive.
Thanks for your comment! We're happy to hear you had a nice time and enjoyed our course! Hope to see you again soon!
