Coyote Lakes Golf Club
Played On 10/21/2015mpcl
A challenging course. Two holes will give you grief. #6 and #10. A stone wall is in play on #6 you will have to lay up. A steep slope plays around a lake that slopes to it on #10. Lots of deep hills and valleys and the walk even with a cart may take it's toll. Lots of carry on the holes and makes the course deceiving.
Eagle's Nest Country Club at Pebble Creek Resort

Nice course, plenty of water and well places bunkers. Each hole has its own problem spots to avoid. The fairways are wide, the greens were lightening fast and didn't hold. A lot more walking than a normal course even with a cart.

I found this course fairly demanding. There were about 4-5 shots where you're playing blind. Lots of hills. The greens are raised and you can't play for the bounce up and on, you must hit the green. There were a lot of wet spots on the course and some in front of the greens. #17 will give you a driver shot for the short hitter. I had trouble with the green on #6 and 3 putted. I haven't 3 putted in months. The one thing that bothered me the most was the lack of drinking water on the course. By 13, I was dying out there, I did have my own to help some but ran out. 4:05 for a threesome is slow.
Desert Dunes Golf Course
Played On 06/03/2015Tough but fair
This course looks to be wide open and easy. I didn't find a flat spot on the course. The first couple of holes knock you for a loop, If you're not in the fairway. After adjusting accordingly the holes are set off nicely with left and right doglegs. Once you are off to the sides good luck finding your ball. The greens are small and undulating. There are some larger greens. I wasn't always sure I was going the right way. One hole on the front says it is shorter and is extremely long or just me. Add to that 35mph winds the day I played. The back 9 seemed to be easier or I adjusted easier. Most enjoyable
Looks can be deceiving. We're glad you enjoyed the challenge and hope you are able to better your score next time you come visit.
Desert Springs Golf Club
Played On 11/04/2014Worth the trip
This was a shotgun start and was paired with 3 others. 2 dropped out after 9 because of slow play. This was only the 2nd day open after re-seeding. The roughs were 6-10 inches and easy to lose the ball. There is no roll. The greens were also slow. Lots of people hunting for their ball. Cart path only so a couple of 100yd jaunts on the par 5's was not uncommon. This course has the layout of a championship course with undulating green, Water and plenty of well placed bunkers. There are false fronts and elevation changes and very generous fairways
Sun City South Golf Course
Played On 10/27/2014Good local course
The course was just out of re-seeding and was still long with no roll. Greens were long and slow. This is expected for at least 5-6 weeks. The new grass has come in very nicely. Advise to take and extra club or two on every shot other than the tee. This is a good course fairly flat but pulls you to the right. The green are normally undulating and can fool you. There are enough different types of holes to make it interesting.
Shadow Mountain Golf Club
Played On 06/05/2014Nice Little Course
This is a perfect course for a quick round. Maybe it was just me but I tended to hit the ball easier and it didn't go as far and I was shooting longer clubs than normal. The fairways are narrow so you have to be accurate. Greens were good. I agree that you will manage this course differently that all the others and use more clubs than usual.
Ahwatukee Country Club
Played On 11/4/2013Very enjoyable round
Just came out of reseeding. Shaggy greens, but in excellent shape. They have also been sanded and fertilized. Low sun at this time of the year makes it difficult to find the ball while playing into it. The traps were filled and well kept. There and good distances on the par 3s and 5s. There is a good assortment of left and right doglegs. There are plenty of trees for shade and if you get down their line it could be trouble. The 5 lakes come into play and can present a choice on how to play them.
Villa de Paz Golf Course
Played On 10/29/2012Nice parkland style course
Nine hole have water or a creek on it. 4 tees plus a Senior tee are available. There are many bare spots throughout the course. The greens have rutted out and bumpy areas. The course can be muddy for a long time after a rain. There are many false fronts and elevated greens. There are 5 good doglegs. The challenge is there.
Sundance Golf Club
Played On 10/22/2012Very Challenging course.
The course has many side drop offs, plenty of desert to get in trouble with. It seems that the course always kicks your ball to the desert areas. There is a lot of frog hair grass around all the greens and traps, so look for a lot of flubbed shots. There is no shade at all and any sunny day will test you. You will feel the brutality of the course on the back nine after you are worn out from the front. Plenty of false fronts, elevated greens and tees.
Great Eagle Golf Club
Played On 10/15/2012A tough fun course.
Plenty of Moguls and side canyons to contend with. Course in great shape after reseeding. one of the greens on the front is pretty rutted out. The Temporary cart path probably wont respond along the fairway edge.
