Fun course but needs some TLC and attention

Lots of variety of holes on this course. Very good pace of play and fun layout.

Greens in very rough shape around the edges (lots of bare spots, dirt and little grass, but most putting areas are not too bad. There are several greens which are really rough and beat up with lots of bare dirt holes, and a lot of bare dirt. The fairways are decent condition, but tons of divots with no sand to fill in the divots. At least four times I found my ball nestled in someone’s non-filled divot while in the fairway. Very challenging and frustrating to be hitting out of non-filled divots. Greens, aprons, and fairways have crab grass all over.

Several of the tee boxes were in very rough shape (#14 is in worse condition than the driving range). Played with a regular who really knew the course well and was great company. You have to hit your tee shots in the correct spot or you get punished pretty quickly. The wind was howling today and made for a challenging but fun round.

Fun and challenging layout with friendly, helpful staff. For me, just not worth getting out there again until the greens, fairways and tee boxes are in much better shape.

I don't usually respond to reviews. However, this one needs a response. We understand what you are saying, however; we need to put things in perspective. We are averaging 150 to 180 rounds a day, due to the situation we find ourselves in, with people having very few outlets to get out and exercise safely. Remember, 150 -180 per day on dormant tee boxes, fairways and semi dormant bent greens. This is after coming off one of the worse fall conditions we have seen in years. (Extreme extended heat) Plus, we have had multiple nights in the 30's, for the past few weeks. So, yes, the course is taking a lot of abuse from this and will be fine as soon as warmer weather comes or rounds are reduced. Plus, we are putting twice as many carts on the fairways with one player per cart. As far as sand and sand bottles. We found it impossible to correctly sanitize the bottles to assure that players would not contract the COVID 19 Virus. We hope that gives players a real-world review of our situation. Thanks to all that support CGL on a weekly basis. We hope that you and your family stay healthy through these unprecedented times.

Fun Course with challenging layout and Great Geens

This was my first time visiting and playing Chimney Oaks. I really like the course conditions and the friendliness of all the staff. Everyone was friendly, welcoming and a pleasure to interact with.

The new owners are working very hard to upgrade and make the facilities top notch. There is lots of working taking place to upgrade and improve all aspects of the golf experience.

The have a very nice short game practice area as well as driving range. Although the driving range is very sparse with grass right now, give it some time and the driving range will be very nice as well.

The conditions were great for mid-April. The greens are the true gem and challenge of Chimney Oaks. The greens are fast, smooth, and very challenging. They are in fantastic condition with VERY FEW non-repaired ball marks. It has been several years since I played on such challenging and fun greens. All the greens have MANY humps, undulations, slopes and subtle breaks. Many greens are sloped going away from the approach shot (sloped from front to back where most greens are sloped from back to front). The fairways, bunkers, tee boxes were all in very good condition.

The only drawbacks that I can state of Chimney Oaks is that it would be nice to have a bathroom or two around the course. Also, the price is not in line with similar courses in the area. I played on Saturday afternoon and paid $60. For me, it is not a $60 course. I loved the course, just not $60 worth. Just down the road about 20 minutes are several courses for less than $60 (Legacy on Lanier, 3 courses at Chateau Elan and others which are just as nice, but less expensive). I would definitely play more often if the price were 10-15 bucks less.

Having said that, I really like the course and staff and I will definitely play here again, just not as frequently. The course is very challenging, but fair.

Beautiful course, always in good shape

The staff is very nice, friendly and welcoming When the wind is blowing, this is one of more challenging courses around. I really do love this place. Arrowhead Pointe really one of the best courses for the money you can play. There are no houses at all on the course and an abundance of great views of the lake. The course is quite a drive for me (2 hour drive), but I am more than willing to make the drive in order to play the course. The place is a fantastic value for the money.
Lots of golfers out at the course, but spread out and practicing social distancing. The course is taking excellent precautions for COVID-19 protection. Course is always a pleasure to play. The course is one of the most scenic courses around the Southeast with lots of scenic views and lots of holes right along the shores of lake Richard B. Russell. I highly recommend this course to ANYONE who wants to get to a fresh environment with beautiful scenery and play a fun and challenging course.

They have a nice practice area for all you need as far as practice and warm-up.

The course was in excellent condition. The pace of play was fantastic. We never had to wait at all for the groups in front of us. The greens are in very good shape. They have a some patches of fescue grass but not too much, and once the warmer summer hits, those patches will be gone.

This course is one of my favorite layouts anywhere in GA or SC. Every time I play the course, I have to hit every club in my bag, which is not to common or normal for me, but something I really enjoy and appreciate.

Do yourself a favor and make a tee time. You will not be disappointed.

Fun Course with challenging layout

This was my first time playing Trophy Club of Apalachee. The staff was very friendly, nice and helpful.

I like the layout of the course. There are many pretty golf holes and the course has a fun layout. It is nice to have range balls included in the price of the greens fees. The range was quite sparse of grass. However, I can not complain about the price of using the range.

The course features many large greens (nice since MANY of the holes you are hitting from a sloped lie). The course has LOTS of holes that are on severe slopes from either right to left or left to right (#1, 2, 5, 6) as well as several holes which are uphill and downhill. Most of the tee boxes were bare to thin with very little grass. The fairways were in nice condition. However, I was very surprised at just how much bare dirt with no grass there was all around the cart paths and even in a few of the fairways. The greens were quite bumpy and slow, but very puttable and challenging.

The course has some challenging and fun holes. The biggest draw back about the round of golf was the very SLOW play. There was a Marshall at the first tee, but never once did we see a Marshall during the round to help speed up play. The round took very close to five hours and we had to wait on almost every tee box. Very annoying.

Overall, I liked the course layout, but was a little disappointed in the condition of the course. It has great potential, just needs some TLC.

Always a Great experience at Chateau Elan

I have played Chateau Elan – Chateau course several times. This course is one of my favorite courses in the Atlanta area.

The course condition was very good for early spring and the staff is always friendly, helpful and accommodating. The staff always treats everyone like they truly want you to come back. That is always a plus versus many courses which act like you are lucky to be able to play the course and they are doing you a favor by helping you.

Chateau course is a great options for all skill levels. Chateau Elan has a great practice area (two different putting greens, very nice short game practice area, practice bunkers, driving range).

The greens are always in great condition. They roll true and have lots of subtle breaks and undulations which adds to the challenge. The greens are quick, but not treacherous and all tricked out.

For early spring, the course is in great shape. Due to the COVID-19 situation, there are no sand bottles on the carts, nor rakes in the bunkers and all the golf holes have foam swimming noodles, all as precautions to help keep everyone safe while still being able to enjoy a fun and challenging course.

I highly recommend Chateau Elan.

Fun, Challenging Course - Great Value

I have played the Highland Walk at Victoria Bryant several times. It is one of my favorite courses in north Georgia. The course is very challenging with lots up elevation changes and lots of holes both uphill and downhill. You cannot miss many shots from the tee or the fairways or you will be in trouble and have a tough time making par.

The people (pro shop, cart attendants and others) are always friendly and nice. The carts all have a cooler for ice, which is always a nice touch and much appreciated.

The greens were quite slow due to the warmer weather is bringing in the new spring grass which is starting to grow. The greens still roll true, but they are just quite slow. The greens are big with quite a bit of slope and undulations. The greens have very few ball marks which is great. I really dislike playing greens that have lots of non-repaired ball marks. Great job grounds crew and greens keepers!!! Overall, the course is in great condition, as it always is. For a public course, it is always in fantastic condition.

The layout is very fun and conducive to challenging all areas of your game. Driver, fairway woods, long irons and short irons are all used on the various array of challenging and easy holes. Accuracy is needed on most holes, except maybe holes 1 and 2. The first hole and second holes are easy and lulls you into thinking that this course is a cake walk and you will shoot a great score. But soon the golf gods slap you in the face when you get to hole number 3 and then the challenge for the rest of the day is on!

Everyone should make the trip to enjoy the scenery and a day out you will enjoy and a fantastic value.

Excellent Value, Definitely Recommend

Things have changed a little with the Corona Virus, but I was super glad to just be able to get out and play golf on a great course.

Usually, they meet you at your car in the parking lot to take your clubs for you. However, due to Corona Virus (social distancing) you go get your own cart out front. They are always doing what they can to make the entire experience gun and enjoyable. They have the empty carts out front now so you can get a cart and go to your car and load your clubs.

I played by myself today (they allow you to play alone due to the Corona Virus) in order so you do not have to pair up with strangers. Obviously they still allow 2, 3 or 4 somes to play. I love that the range balls are included in the greens fees, as well as is bottled water, soda, sandwiches, snacks and cookies. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. The practice area is nice (the range is currently bare of grass, the practice area is still great.

Course was in good shape for as much rain as we have received over the prior three weeks. The only drawback is that some of the tee boxes are really bare and almost all dirt (#2, #5) Greens are rolling smooth and true. The greens were a little shaggy and slower than usual due to so much rain the mowers have not been able to cut the greens in a few days. The greens are a real challenge as they have lots of slopes, undulations, humps and subtle breaks.

This course is always a true challenge and a stern test of golf. The views are what makes this course what it is. 14 of the 18 holes are right along the banks of Lake Lanier. There are several tee shots which you have to hit over the lake which makes it even that much more fun and enjoyable. Hitting multiple shots over Lake Lanier is hard to beat. Legacy on Lanier is truly one of the best, if not the VERY BEST public courses in the Atlanta area. I have played a ton of the courses in and around Atlanta. I have played here several times and will continue to play every chance I get.

I highly recommend Legacy on Lanier. You will not be disappointed. The value for the money is unprecedented.

Great Coure Layout with Excellent Conditions

This was my first time playing The Falls course at Magnolia Grove. I really loved the course.

The staff (bag attendants, restaurant, starter, pro shop) were all friendly and very helpful and accommodating.

The course has an excellent practice area and has everything you would want or need in order to practice and improve your game.

The course is great starting out from the 1st tee to the final green. The course is laid out straight forward and in front of you so very easy to navigate as a first timer. The course is in excellent condition. The greens have lots of slopes and subtle undulations with good speed and pace. The clubhouse is very nice along with a nice restaurant. The biggest drawback is that the carts do not have coolers, not does the clubhouse have a cooler. If you want a cold drink, take your own cooler. I only saw the beverage cart one time all day long.

All in all, i highly recommend the Falls course. I will definitely play again when I am in the Mobile area.

Fun Course with Very Nice Conditions

This was my first time playing Kiva Dunes. The staff at the course is fantastic. From the time you arrive at the bag drop to the time you take your cart to the cart return, the staff was friendly, nice and very accommodating.

Great practice area (range balls included in the greens fee). The course has a nice mix of sand, water, trees, and rough. The course was in excellent shape. The greens were big and quick with lots of slopes and undulations. There are many scenic, and fun golf holes. If you book on Golfnow with a Hot Deal, the course is quite a bargain. The worst part of the round was the SLOW play. Once we reached hole #9, we had to wait on the tee box and we had to wait on every single hole from 9 - 18. Very slow and agonizing.

The course is quite open with plenty of room of the tees. There are a few strategically place bunkers which makes you think about what you are doing, but if you are a little wayward, the course is not too penalizing. Next time I am in the area, I will definitely be back to play again.

One of the best courses in the Orlando Area

This was my second time playing El Campeon at Mission Inn and it did not disappoint. I was fantastic, just as it was the first time I played the course.

The staff is friendly and accommodating. They have nice practice facility areas which is always appreciated.

I really like the El Campeon course. One of the real challenges of the course are the greens. You have to leave your approach shot to the green In the right spot or you can easily three putt. Some of the greens are treacherous and challenging with slopes, undulations and subtle breaks. The course is very hilly with lots of elevation changes, especially for a Florida course. The greens were a little on the slow side today, but that is a good thing because it would have been very challenging to fast greens with the slopes and undulations.

The course conditions were very good. From the first hole through the 18th, each was a true challenge with plenty of risk/reward. The scenery is beautiful. The 17th hole which is one of the more challenging holes in golf. The 17th hole is the number one handicap hole on the course and it is called “Devils Delight” due to its challenge.

El Campeon is one of the nicest courses northwest of Orlando. If you are not close it is still well worth your drive to enjoy this course. From the picturesque views , nice fairways and challenging greens. You will not be disappointed! The course is tough and beautiful. You will definitely use every club in your bag.

Fun Course always in Great Condition

This was my second time playing Crane Lakes, and just as the first time, the course did not disappoint.

The starter was very accommodating and got us out a little earlier than our scheduled starting time. The course was very crowded, but the pace of play was nice. We did not have to wait too much.

The conditions were quite windy today. We played from the white tees and the course presented plenty of challenge and lots of fun.
Crane Lakes is a short course (par 66) with water on every hole along with well-placed sand traps. It is a par 66 course with 8 par three holes. The course shows a great deal of pride in upkeep. The greens were smooth and well kept. Not too fast, but the puts ran true and smooth. The greens also had quite of slope and undulations. Don’t let the par 66 fool you, it is a real challenge and has lots of fun holes. The condition of the course was great.

Make sure to bring a few extra golf balls as you will lose a few with water on every hole. If the wind picks up (which it was today), then the course adds even an added level of challenge and fun.

This was a fun challenging track. Not very long but don't be fooled, very challenging. I will definitely be back. I highly recommend Crane Lakes.

Fun Course in Great Condition and Friendly Staff

This was my first time playing the Jones Course at LPGA. I had a great time and I will definitely be back when I am in this area.

The golf course is VERY nice. Wide fairways, which make play easier. There lots and lots of water but the water don’t come into play too much and is pretty straight forward and far off the fairway. Very nice greens.

Staff was excellent (friendly and accommodating). Course had a few wet spots. Greens were fantastic. Very smooth and rolled true. Not too much slopes and breaks. Greens are pretty much you get what you see. That’s all good.

Overall, the course was in fantastic shape from tee to green. The greens were rolling true and relatively fast All in all, were a pleasure to putt on. Awesome practice facilities.

The course is not overly difficult off the tee. There is plenty of room to hit your ball if you do not hit is dead straight. There are lots of fairway and green side bunkers. The greens are large, and receptive with relatively little slope from front to back to front. Most of the greens are also raised and surrounded by some pretty deep and challenging bunkers. Overall, its not a terribly difficult course, but it is tons of fun to play and has a good mix of fun and interesting holes. The course is in great shape, tees, fairways, and greens, all really green and in good shape. Its also a good value for the price.

Challenging Layout with Excellent Conditions

This was my first playing Waterlefe golf club. I really like the course and had a great time. I would recommend the course to anyone in the area looking to play a fun, and challenging course in excellent condition.

From the tee, you must hit the landing zones or your will have to get out another ball because there is water and hazards a plenty.

The fairways, greens, bunkers and rough was in very good condition. The course is plenty difficult and a true test for just about all but the scratch players.

I really liked the course and can not wait to play again.

The practice range has the floating balls that you hit into a lake. I don't like hitting off mats, but it was better than nothing. The lack of a good practice area and a good practice range are the worst part of the golf course, but that is not too much to complain about.

Nice Course - VERY Challenging when it is windy

This was my second time playing Lake Jovita North Course. I had a great time just as I did the first time I played. Today it was VERY windy which made it a real challenge and a stern test of golf. Many holes today I had to take two to three extra clubs due to the wind and I still came up short on many of my approach shots.

The course is in really good shape right now. It was a little soggy due to rain which went through yesterday, but that was not a problem at all. The fairways gave really good lies and the greens are in excellent condition with lots of undulations, slopes and subtle breaks. The course was very well maintained. Many of the bunkers had just recently been conditioned with new sand.

I really like the North course layout and has lots of great golf holes which make you think and plan your second shots.

The course does not end up at the clubhouse after the 9th hole (I forgot that) so I didn't have many opportunities to food and drinks. Make sure you take food and drinks with you out on the course because you will not have an opportunity to stop and the snack bar or pro shop to get food and drinks.

The Starter was great. He let me out earlier than my scheduled tee time due to a break in the scheduled groups going off the 1st tee. That was great and much appreciated. I will definitely play Lake Jovita again when I am in the Tampa area.

Great Course with Excellent Conditions

I have played Bear's Best several time prior and each time I really like the course layout and the conditions. Today, the greens were in the best condition I have ever seen them. Usually, because they are bent grass greens, there are TONS of non-repaired ball marks which makes the greens look like a scatter grenade was dropped on them. However today, the greens were in excellent condition. Well Done Bear's Best.
This is one of my favorite courses in the area due to the different Jack Nicklaus designed holes.
The pace of play today was very good. We had to wait on several holes to tee off, but that is expected on a fall day when the weather is perfect and lots of golfers want to get out and play.
Course was in excellent shape. My only complaint is with the bunkers. Most of the bunkers have very little sand. Several bunkers I hit out of were like hitting of hard pan dirt with just a slight covering of sand in the bottom. However, based on the overall conditions today, I recommend this course to any of my friends.

Fun Course in Great Condition

I have played Chateau Elan Chateau course several times and each time I play the course I always leave asking myself, "why don't II play here more frequently?"
The course layout is fantastic and fun and the conditions are always excellent and the staff and facilities are top-notch.
The greens are exceptional and some of the best greens anywhere in the area. They are always very quick, smooth and have many subtle breaks and undulations. The fairways were blown and cleared of leaves and debris with lots of fun elevation changes. You really can't ask for too much more or get too much better anywhere in the Atlanta area.
In my opinion, this is one of the very best public course in this area. Also, you can usually get a great deal on Golf Now which makes the value for the money a great deal.
The staff were great. The newly renovated clubhouse and restaurant are great. We stayed around after our round and had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent.

Fun Course with Very Nice conditions

This was my first time playing the The Club at Emerald Hills. I like that the course is very near the Ft. Lauderdale airport since I had to fly out this afternoon and just had enough time for a fun round of golf.
This course was in very good condition. Greens were in good condition and I loved the fact there were not tons of non-repaired ball marks like are so common at many of the other courses in the area. The course has lots of water to make it challenging. The fairways were nice and wide and rough was very manageable (not too long and was able to hit out of the rough).
I really liked the layout of the course. All the people who worked at the course who II uncounted were very helpful and friendly .

Very Nice Course - Nice Conditions - Overpriced

This was my first time playing Jacaranda Golf Club - East Course. I had a good time and really liked the course.
I paid $68 for 18 holes with cart (tax included). I really liked the course and wanted to do do a replay for another 9 holes. After the round, I asked if I could do a replay for just 9 holes (there was hardly anyone out at 2:30. I asked the starter if I would be able to get prior to going into the pro shop, and the starter told me it was wide open and very few golfers out). When I went into the pro shop, and asked about a 9 hole replay, the person told me it would be $35 (plus tax) for 9 holes. I told him I just wanted to do a replay. He told me it was $35 take it or leave it and there was no discount for a replay. I told him fine, I would just leave and not pay MORE THAN 1/2 of what I paid at 9:30 am for a full 18 holes. The person in the pro shop was not friendly, or helpful at all!!!!!
Other than the unhelpful person in the pro shop, the course is in nice condition. The fairways are very wide and forgiving. The greens are smooth, quick and a pleasure to putt on.
The carts have GPS in them which makes it nice and very helpful for someone like myself playing for the first time.
Overall, I had a good day playing golf, other than trying to deal with the gentleman in the pro shop.

We're glad you enjoyed our course conditions as we work very hard to keep the courses in excellent shape all year round. We do not offer 9 holes regular rates; however, the $35 rate that the Pro Shop offered you is our replay rate for 9 holes. We understand that the great rates you may book online may make that rate seem a little high, but the cost to play Jacaranda in October is nearly $100 for 18 holes. We sincerely hope you'll be back again when you're in the area.

Pretty Course in Great Condition

This was my first time playing Jacaranda Golf Club - West Course. I had a great time and really liked the course.
The course is in excellent condition. The fairways are very wide and forgiving. The greens are smooth (for the most part due to lots of non-repaired ball marks), quick and a pleasure to putt on. I found myself fixing several ball marks on each green due to other players lack of repairing their ball marks.
The bunkers are well maintained. The only draw back is that the bunkers are full of golf-ball sized coral rocks which makes it a challenge to hit out of the bunkers.
I have never seen so many iguanas as I saw on the course. It was fun to see them running around and laying in the sun.
The carts have GPS in them which makes it nice and very helpful for someone like myself playing for the first time.
Overall, I had a great day playing golf. The course conditions were great. When I am back in the area again, I will definitely be playing Jacaranda again.

We're so glad to hear you had a great time playing Jacaranda. And thank you for repairing those ball marks! It definitely makes things easier for us. We hope you'll be back again soon.

Great Course and Lots of Fun

This was my first time playing Vermont National in over five years. I remember how much I like the course. Today the conditions were very wet and soggy due to all the rain the area received a couple days ago.
I was really impressed with the conditions of the course (other than the wet and soggy conditions which the course has not control over). The fairways and greens are in great shape. The greens have lots of breaks and slopes.
The bunkers were in awesome condition with lots of fluffy sand which made them a true test and challenge.
I really enjoyed the experience of playing here and l will definitely be back to play again. Overall, awesome course.
