Fun course layout with average conditions

This was the first time I’ve played this course. l was very satisfied with the course. There are lots of dog let holes, so ball placement is key on several of the holes. The greens are bentgrass and so they are very receptive. Because the greens are bentgrass and receptive to shots, there are LOTS of ball marks on the greens. My biggest complaint is that all the greens need attention from prior ball marks and golfers not repairing their ball marks correctly. I repaired at least three or four ball marks on every green and it did not make a difference at all. The greens is littered with non-repaired ball marks and spots where ball marks were not repaired and not just bare dirt is showing.

The driving range is nice because it is all grass and you do not have to hit off of mats, but the brass was quite sparse and thin so it felt like I was hitting off a mat.

The snack bar does not have any cold bottled drinks. The only cold soda pop drinks are from the soda fountain. I was amazed they did not have any cold bottled soda pop drinks for people to buy and take with them in their golf cart.

The fairways are lush and nice. The wort part of the course are the greens and all the non-repaired ball marks.

Overall, however, I liked the course. It was challenging and fun. The staff is very friendly. If I am ever in the Sacramento area again, I would play this course again.

AWESOME Course Layot - Green Need ALOT of Work

This was my first time playing the course. I LOVED the course layout and the beauty of the golf holes. There are some really spectacular looking golf holes. However, the greens were terrible. Almost every single green had LOTS of bare dirt where the greens had been burned up by the sun. Several greens were being repaired (old, dead grass being removed and new sod being laid down).

The driving range is mats only which is kind of a bummer. The practice area is very nice with lots or areas to practice.

The course is really nice and VERY well maintained, all except the greens. The staff is super friendly and happy to have you there playing golf. If the greens were in half way, decent condition I would give the course five stars. However greens didn’t roll well due to being burned up and lots of bare dirt. I just think for the price, I expected more.

I would love to play the course again when the greens are in better condition. However, several of the holes are beautiful and specticular (#16 and #18).

Definately play the course. You will not regret it.

Fun, 9 hole coure with suprisingly good conditions

This was my first playing Catamount Golf Club. It is a short, nine hole course. I played the course prior to catching a flight back to Atlanta.

The course was very straight forward with very few places to get in trouble. The conditions were surprisingly good. The greens were in excellent condition. They were smooth with very few non-repaired ball marks. The fairways were average, but nothing to complain about.

My only complaint was that when I checked in I was not given a score card. There were no score cards on the carts nor was there a box near the first or second tee boxes to get a score card. Several of the par 3 tee boxes were pretty torn up, but nothing too bad.

Not the greatest course, but very fun and easy to shoot a good round, especially prior to going to the airport to catch a flight heading back home.

Fun short course with very good conditions

This was my first time playing The Links at Lang Farm in Vermont. I doubt I will play the course again simply due to the price I had to pay relative to the value you get for the price. I was charged $59 for 18 holes with a cart on a par 60 golf course. I can pay $59 and get a full-fledged golf course and not just a executive course.

However, having said that the value is not very good, I really liked the course and had fun playing. The course is in very nice condition (minus the geese and the goose crap all over every green).

The few fairways they have are lush and nice (most of the holes are par 3 holes and hence do not have fairways). 12 of the 18 holes are par 3 and the remaining six holes are par 4 holes. The greens were very nice (minus a lot of non-repaired ball marks). The greens are bent grass greens and are kept moist so balls hitting the greens leave quite a ball mark. The greens are fast and have all kinds of slopes, hills and undulations which makes them tricky with lots of breaks.

The first nine holes are quite wide open and not too much trouble. The second nine holes have lots of elevation changes and are in out of woods and tree areas. The back nine holes are very scenic and picturesque. Very nice course with pretty views and pretty holes. Just not worth $59 dollars.

Awesome Course, Beautiful Settting - A Must Play

This was my first time play Haig Point golf course and it did not disappoint. I have played many times on Dafuskie Island, but I had never played Haig Point.

The Calibogue Course great. The course layout is awesome with some beautiful golf holes. All the par three holes have two sets of tees form which you can choose to hit from. At Haig Point, there are three nine hole courses each of which are great, fun and all have beautiful holes with ocean views. The course is terrific with no two holes alike.

The fairways are lined with oak trees which are draped in Spanish moss. The course layout works it way around wetlands, marshes and ocean views on at least five holes. Haig Point is one of the best courses on the Atlantic Coast, and that includes its neighbor, right across the sound, Harbour Town Golf Links.

The fairways were lush, full and have lots of up and down slopes. The greens are fast, smooth with lots of slopes and undulations which makes the greens challenging and fun.

If you get the chance, take the opportunity to play Haig Point. There is tons of wildlife to see on the course. We saw lots of deer, armadillo, racoon, alligators, water fowl, and hawks. It was a great day of golf.

Normally Great Course - Only 9 holes are open for play

I have played the Country Club of Hilton Head a couple times and each time I really liked the course.

However, when we arrived a the course today they told us that only the first nine holes are available for play as holes 10 - 18 are closed as they are doing some work on the course. Nobody told us any thing about only having nine holes open for play when I made our tee times.

The first nine holes were in excellent condition from tee to green.

They have the best practice facility of all the courses we played (driving range, chipping area, practice bunker, putting green, etc.) on the island. The course layout was very good and challenging. There were several forced carries over water, but everyone of them were fair and also very pretty.

The tee boxes, fairways and greens (nine holes) were in very good condition. The greens were quick and smooth (VERY FEW non-repaired ball marks) with lots of undulations and slopes. All the bunkers were full of soft, fluffy, beach sand.

I would highly recommend you go play the course, except be prepared for only nine holes.

The biggest draw back was that there was no food available. The snack bar was closed and the beverage cart broke down so there was not a beverage cart. For that reason, I rated the course as average because it is the middle of August and VERY hot but no drinks, beverage cart of snack bar to be able to purchase drinks or get a cooler in order to keep your drinks cold.

Fun Course Layout in Great Condition

This was my first time playing the Fazio course at PGA National.

The Fazio Course is a typical resort course. The course was in excellent condition (other than a few bunkers with very little sand in the bottom). The weather was very hot and beautiful and the pace of play was excellent. The tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in great condition.

The course is not overly difficult. The holes are pretty straight forward and you can see where you are going (except a few dog legs where you can not see the green from the tee box). There is water on a a lot of the holes, but it's not overwhelming.

The front nine twists and turns and has more dogleg holes than does the back nine. I really liked the course. The customer service and facilities are great. The only drawback is in order to play any of the PGA National courses you have to be a member or you have to stay at the resort.

Great course layout - Disappointing Condition of Greens

This was my first time playing Salem Glen country club. I was looking forward to playing this Jack Nicklaus designed course. I had heard good things about the course.

The fairways and rough were in great condition. The fairways were smooth and nicely cut. The course is fun and challenging lots of elevation changes (both uphill and downhill holes). The greens are quite small which puts a premium on accuracy with your irons. The rough is thick and lush so if you are off the fairway, it makes it a challenge to get on the green in regulation.

However, the greens were a big let down for me. I thought the greens were in bad condition. The greens are bent grass and are hence they are soft due to the fact they have to be kept moist and hydrated during the hot summer months.

I was disappointed with how chewed and and blemished the greens. There were blemish marks all over the greens. The greens were shaggy (had not been cut in a couple days) and quite slow. It is obvious that the people that play here on a regular basis don’t fix their ball marks because of the many non-repaired ball marks and marks and blemishes all over the greens.

Other than the poor condition of the greens, it is . a great course with some beautiful designed holes (#11 is beautiful from the tee box). If I am in the area again, I will definitely play again and hope the condition of the greens is much better.

Great Couse, Fun Layout, Excellent Value

I have played the Woodlands course several times. Each time I have played the Woodlands course I always enjoy the course and the conditions are always great (the greens have lots of non-repaired ball marks).

I really like the course layout. The conditions have always been very good. The greens are bent grass and in order to keep them alive, they have to be watered frequently during the summer heat. Due to the frequent watering required, the greens are always soft with very little roll-out. My biggest complaint about the course are the many non-repaired ball marks and marks on the greens from ball marks which were not repaired which are now just bare dirt. I always repair three or four ball marks on each green hoping to help and assist the condition of the greens..

There are lots of elevation changes with up-hill and down-hill shots. The elevation changes adds to the challenging course.

The pace of play was excellent. Never had to wait at all. The clubhouse and restaurant are being updated and upgraded. It will be nice when it is finally completed.

Get a deal on golf now and you will not regret taking the time and opportunity to play the Woodlands course.

Excellent course layout in great condition

II have played Furman golf course several times and each time I play, I really like the course and it is always in top condition.

The course is layed out on pretty, rolling land, with tree-lined fairways. The course is very wide open. I didn't lose a ball all day long because if you miss-hit the course is pretty wide open. Some of the tee shots on the holes give plenty of room off the tee, and tee shots make you feel like you are trying to hit your drive down a bowling alley.

The course plays longer than the yardage with many uphill shots. All the greens (except two or three) are slightly elevated making club selection critical and the yardage a little longer than what is stated on the card.

The greens are very smooth and roll true with lots of undulations and breaks. The nice greens made putting challenging, but very fair.

The tee boxes were lush and nice. The fairways were great with very few bare spots. The rough was lush, long and very challenging. Overall, the course is in great condition.

Fun, Challenging Course - Pretty Views

This was my first time playing the course.

It was a very pretty course in average condition. I thought for $125 the condition of the course much would be much better and pristine.

This is a resort, mountain course. Because it is a mountain course, you will have a lot of uphill as well as down hill approach shots and tee shots. The course received a lot of rain the day before and so the course was cart path only today. The fairways and greens are bent grass and were quite soggy. I love to play on bent grass courses because they are always much more soft and forgiving than bermuda grass courses. Due to the heavy rains yesterday, the greens had not been cut today and hence they were much slower than I expected. The course does not give the appearance of being a tough/challenging course but in this case, looks are deceiving. This is a challenging classic Donald Ross design It makes for a very enjoyable yet challenging day.

Positives: Greens, Fairways were very lush and full.. Beautiful views and lots of wildlife (wild turkeys, deer, etc.)
Negatives: Cart paths are VERY rough and bumpy where tree roots have created large bumps and humps in the cart paths. Wet and soggy.

Definitely take the opportunity to play the course, but look for a deal because $125 is a little steep for the conditions.

Fun Course with beautiful views

Windermere is a challenging course with lots of fun and challenging holes.

The greens were just recently aerated and sanded (only one or two days ago). When I made my tee time, I was not told of the condition of the greens. I was not even told when I checked into the pro shop. The only way I knew the greens had been aerated and sanded was when I went to the practice green and saw the condition. Then I was told the greens were aerated and sanded and the course was cart path only. I expected the course to be cart path only because we have received so much rain the past week, but I do expect to be told the greens are in terrible condition for playing. I know aerating is necessary and helpful, I just expect to be told when I make a tee time so I can choose to play the course or select a different course.

Having said the negative about the greens,

Overall, the course was in very good shape. There were several bunkers where all the sand had been washed away from the edges of the bunkers do to all the rain we have received over the prior week. Not a problem. There is noting which can be done about that. I expect things like that when I choose to play after lots of rain.

All the people with whom I interacted were very friendly and courteous. I just wish I had been told about the condition of the greens and the fact just one or two days before the greens had been aerated and sanded.

I love the layout of the course. It has lots of elevation changes and lots of very pretty and challenging golf holes. I love to play Windermere whenever I can.

Great course and lots of fun.

Awesome Bucket List Course - Very Challenging

This was my first time playing East Lake and hopefully not my last. The entire experience was fantastic.

From the moment you drive inside the gate, everything is top-notch and of the highest quality. The hospitality is unmatched; from the car valet to the clubhouse food and beverage service staff to the golf professionals on site, the caddies. All make you feel like a long-time member. The club has tons of history and is a special place.

The course was in amazing condition. The greens are lightning quick but roll true at the same time. The rough was very lush and thick and a challenge to get on the green from the rough. The course has lots of elevation changes which adds to the challenge. Several of the holes are just beautiful to see and a pleasure to play.

If you ever get the opportunity to play, enjoy the challenge, the history, the customer service and friendliness of all the staff. It is FANTASTIC!!!

Great Course with Fun Layout and beautiful views

I have played this course several times and every time I play I really like the course. It is fun, challenging and always in very good condition (a few exceptions).

I play this golf course quite often because I love the course layout and the Jack Nicklaus holes. Thee condition of the course is always pretty darn good. My number one complaint about the course is that for some reason, the greens take a beating and there are ALWAYS tons of un-repaired ball marks. I always repair three or four ball marks on every green and it does not make a difference at all. The only other thing that is consistently not too good is the condition of the bunkers. You often hit gravel in the bunker or even sand bags due to the lack of sand. I had several bunker shots today where my sand wedge bounced off the bottom of the bunker because there is no sand in the bottoms of the bunkers. However, even given the non-repaired ball marks and the fact there is very little sand in the bunkers, I highly recommend this course. The staff is great. The practice facilities are great and the overall condition of the course is always very nice with some amazing holes and views.

There is always wildlife to see and enjoy during your round.

AWECOME Course, Fantastic staff and service

This was my first time playing the Blue Monster.

The customer service and attention to details at Trump National are great.

The course plays long and is challenging with water and tons of bunkers. The rough was very lush, thick and long. If you were off the fairway, you truly paid a penalty due to the challenging of getting the ball out of the rough and onto the greens.

The only draw back was the day was very hot and humid and the beverage cart service was spotty, We did not see a beverage cart until the 8th hole and we were all hot, thirsty and ready for drinks a long time before we saw the beverage cart. The valet staff, cart attendants and starter were all great.

If you have the opportunity to play the Blue Monster, definately take advantage and play the course. It is great and VERY challenging.

The practice facilities are top notch with all practice facilities being great and very helpful.

Fun Course in O.K. Condition - Good Value

This was my first time playing Atlantic National. I was able to get a great deal on GolfNow.com.

All the people I met and encountered at the golf course were very polite and nice.

I really like their range (plenty of grass area to hit from and in very good condition).

The GPS in the carts was very nice especially for someone like myself who has never played the course before. I really like how the GPS give a "fly over" of each hole when you pull up to the tee box.

For the money this was a very good course. Not an extremely difficult layout but was fun and challenging. Greens had just been sanded (the sand was not watered into the greens) so the greens were EXTREMELY slow. I was not told of the sanding of the greens until I got to the first green and saw it had just been sanded. I wish I would have been told by the pro shop so I would have known what to expect.

Several of the tee boxes were in very poor condition (little grass to hit off of, but lots of sand). It seemed as though half the tee boxes were nice and half were very poor.

I don't know why, but on many of the holes it smelled as though sewage was in the ponds or canals. I could not figure out why, but many of the holes really had an awful stench to them.

Overall, I liked the course and the value you get for the price you pay.

AWECOME Course, Fantastic facilities

This was my second time playing the course and it still has that special feel and excitement when you drive up and see the spectacular club house. It looks like you are driving up to a castle.

Everyone of the staff is friendly and helpful from the bag people to the proshop to the caddie we had (Ryan).

The locker room attendant was great. He polished our golf shoes and replaced the spikes. He was great.

The course conditions are amazing and the course is immaculate. They have the best practice facilities and practice area of any course I have ever been to and played.

The ONLY draw back is the $400 price tag. I expect $400 or $500 at Pebble Beach. This course seems like it should be a $300 or #350 course and not $400. However, it is worth the price even if it is a little more than expected. Once at TPC, you will be treated excellent from arrival to departure.

Fun Course - Pro Shop staff NOT friendly at all

This was my first time playing this course.

The course is in average shape. Not great and not bad. The pro-shop staff was not too helpful. I asked for a cooler to use with water and gator aid which I purchased they told me they did not have coolers. This is the only course in the area I know of which does NOT have a cooler either on the cart or to use. This is Florida and it is summer time. Every one needs cold drinks and refreshment for a 4hr round of golf in the sun.

I liked the course and would play it again, but I would bring my own drinks and cooler. There was not a beverage cart out on the course. There was no on-course beverage cart service.

For the price I paid, there should be access to drinks and snacks on the course.

There are free range balls to hit, but the range was in rough shape (little grass and divots EVERYWHERE). Hardly a smooth surface anywhere to hit from.

AWECOME Course Layout, Fantastic Staff but average conditions

This was my first time playing Cascata. I had read alot of great reviews about Cascata and their phenomenal customer service.

The course is a bit of a drive from Las Vegas, but well worth the drive.

When you arrive at Cascata you begin the phenomenal customer service. You are greeted by a valet to park your vehicle, your caddie to take your clubs and a greeter to escort you into the amazing clubhouse.

For me, the worst part of the entire time was the course conditions. MANY of the fairways were burned out with lots of sports where there was no grass. MANY of my shots from the fairway were from spots with no grass. Many places around the greens had no grass. The caddie said a couple weeks ago they had a water main break and they were without water for four or five days and within those four of five days many areas were burned up without being watered. as far as course conditions TPC Las Vegas, Bears Beast Las Vegas and Las Vegas Paiute courses were ALL in much better condition. However, the service and overall experience at Cascata was truly amazing.

The course features many water hazards and running creeks which you do not expect for desert golf. There are many amazing scenic views with spectacular pretty golf holes.

The day I played the pro shop noted the greens were a 10.0 on the Stimp. The caddie said that was slow for the greens. Alex the caddie said the greens usually run 11.0 - 12.0 on the Stimp.

However, at Cascata, the emphasis and your time is on the golf "experience" and that is where Cascata excels.

As you walk in the doors of the pro shop and hear the amazing sound of a rushing river beneath your feet while looking out onto the amazing practice facility. You know you are at a special place.

The golf carts are housed inside the clubhouse so that when the you are ready to go you drive outside to the practice facility and see a huge waterfall / stream rushing down the mountain behind the driving range.

The course layout, the scenery, the wildlife (big horn sheep, rabbits, road runners, coyote) the customer service, etc. was amazing.

Be sure to snap plenty of photos as the scenery and course layout is amazing. I just wish the course conditions were better. I know they cant do anything about a water main break but it sure made for disappointing conditions when MANY times I was hitting off bear dirt with little to no grass.

AWESOME Course in FANTASTIC condition

This was my first time playing at Las Vegas Paiute. The course was was everything I could have hoped for!

The course was in fantastic shape and has a great practice facility. The fairways, tees, greens, rough, bunkers (all were in fantastic shape and condition). I don't know how the course and conditions could have been better.

All the staff was great from the pro-shop staff to the starter to the bag drop people . Everyone provided a warm welcome and was very friendly. The starter told me the best piece of advice for playing the Wolf course. He said, "the greens do not break as much as you think." That was fantastic advice because he was 100% correct. The greens rolled straight and true.

It was a little windy the afternoon (thank goodness. The temperature was 102). The wind made the course play more challenging because tee shots that were slightly offline were blown into the desert.

If I am ever back here in Las Vegas again with time for golf, this will DEFINATELY be a course I return to and play again. One of the highlights was hole #15 a par 3 island green. Awesome to have an island green in the middle of the desert.
