Coyote Springs Golf Club
Played On 10/17/2023Little Disappointing
Coyote Springs is always one of my favorite courses to play when in Vegas. Is out of the way, but a great design, conditions always good, and the scenery very pleasing in a nice secluded desert valley setting. However, found the course was a little beat up on this visit. Not sure what is happening, but hope management will give a little TLC to the struggling greens. It's not quite worth the money given current conditions.
Rio Secco
Played On 10/16/2023Good day at Rio Secco
Overall course was in good condition from tee to green on this day. Pace of play was 4 hours 40 minutes on weekday. Staff was very friendly. Overall a decent value for non-resident and would recommend.
Rhodes Ranch Country Club
Played On 10/15/2023Rhodes Slow Play Ranch
Played here about 25 years ago and left after 13 holes due to the painfully slow play and have avoided till this last Sunday. Unfortunately, the pace of play was painfully slow again, 5 hours 40 minutes to complete the round. And this course isn't that long or tough. On the plus side, the conditions from tee to green were good. But golf simply isn't fun when you have to wait around as much as you do here.
Canyon River Golf Club
Played On 09/12/2023A tad underwhelming
This is a nice, well maintained course. It's in a nice setting, but I wasn't overwhelmed, given the green fees. Felt it lacked any wow or unique, intrigue factor and wasn't really holding my interest for long. With that said, it was in very good condition from tee to green and the clubhouse is small, but nice. I wouldn't go out of my way to play, but if in the area and needing to get in a round, would play again.
Haymaker
Played On 09/07/2023Better of the 2
First off, if you're wondering which public access course to play in Steamboat, this is the better of the 2. More of a links feel course, the layout was really fun and moderately challenging. Conditions were excellent from tee to green. Greens a little on the quick side, which I prefer. Water does come into play on a few holes. Overall, a great experience and would definitely play again.
The Hideout Golf Club
Played On 09/03/2023Hidden Gem, kind of.....
Played here for the first time 5-6 years ago and loved it. Would never have expected a course of this caliber in a small town in remote Utah. Unfortunately, the second time around was not quite as good. Still love the layout, scenery, and ambiance of the track, and golfing on a Sunday morning, pretty much had it to myself. But the conditions were not as good. Many tee boxes were beat up and some of the greens had issues. Fairways overall were in pretty good condition. Spoke to the person in the clubhouse and he mentioned the harsh winter they had and not really having a spring to condition the course for summer. I gave the track a 4. Given the price, think it's still well worth the play if in the area, and hope that the conditions are better come next spring.
SilverRock Resort
Played On 01/01/2023Fun Day
Overall, course was in very good condition. Only exception were some greens that looked like winter overseeding didn't quite take good hold and were a little bare in spots. Pace of play was good. As for the construction going on around the course, it didn't directly affect play, but looking at chain link fencing is a little distracting. But overall a fun play and worth the trip out.
Thank you for taking the time to review us. Your feedback is valuable, and we appreciate your business. SilverRock Resort thanks you!
Firecliff at Desert Willow Golf Resort
Played On 12/30/2022Best of the Desert
Firecliff is arguably the best public track in the Palm Springs area. The course had just opened from winter overseeding and was immaculate. Only minor gripe was some greens were a little on the shaggy side but was told they were going to be cut down in a few days. Overwise, they rolled true. The course is a good test of golfing skills and love that it feels like you're golfing in a desert oasis with little city traffic and buildings to distract you. Would absolutely play here again.
Wolf Creek Golf Club
Played On 11/19/2022Good and Bad
Wolf Creek is a challenging and unique track that winds through canyons and mesas of the Muddy Creek Formation, and requires lots of precision shots and creativity to make it a manageable play. Wayward shots can be penalized severely. On this day, pace of play was slow, and the round took about 5 1/2 hours. Some of the greens were a little beat up and didn't look like they filled in as good as they could of from September over seeding, with some bare spots and rough patches. The practice range was a little beat up and bare as well, and only part of it was open on this day. However, fairways and tee boxes overall were in good condition. All in all, a decent value and memorable golf experience worth a play.
Coyote Springs Golf Club
Played On 10/13/2021Great Play
One of my favorite courses in Southern Nevada. Course was in about as good a shape as I have seen it. Really like the layout and ambience. Well worth the drive up from Vegas.
Glen Ivy Golf Club
Played On 12/22/2018Marshall Needed
Like golfing here but could have used a Marshall on this day. Followed a slow, rude 4sum in front if us, leaving cigarette butts on the greens, not fixing divots, throwing the flags around, not raking bunkers. Guess they figured the maid would clean up after them. There was not a group in front of them for most of the round and they refused to let us through and did not see a Marshall all day long.
The Hideout Golf Club
Played On 09/16/2017"A Real Gem"
This was the way it was described by someone from Grand Junction, Colorado who had played here. He was not far off the mark at all. It's hard to believe a course of this caliber exist in a small town in remote Utah. The course is owned and run by the town of Monticello and they do a wonderful job keeping it up. I'm sure this is in part because it doesn't get a lot of play because of its location. The greens were about as pristine as you'll find and rolled as true as any you'll play. Almost felt guilty putting divots in them. Fairways and tee boxes were also in excellent condition. The course is surrounded by moderate to dense stands of Gamble Oak and Cottonwood. When you leave the first tee, you immediately feel as if you're taking a stroll through the forest and you won't have much contact with other groups playing on the course. This is not the most difficult course you'll ever play and you might feel pretty good about your game for the most part. However, there are a few holes that will test your shot making skills.
For $42, this is without a doubt one of the best values you will find in a golf course. If in the area, is well worth the play.
Wolf Run Golf Club
Played On 09/19/2015Excruciatingly Slow Play!
Took 1 hour and 10 minutes to complete the first 3 holes and 4 hours and 20 minutes to complete 13. Groups were stacked up 2 and 3 deep on every hole.....NO LIE! Management had booked a tournament on this day and not bothered to tell anyone not involved in the tournament. Trying to get Marshalls to speed up play were to no avail. Overall, a horrible experience. Overpriced for conditions of the course and facilities. Course is not worth the play.
Graeagle Meadows Golf Course
Played On 09/18/2015Nice afternoon at Graeagle
Is a nice course situated along the Feather River. Not the most glamorous or difficult course you'll ever play, but is in pretty good shape and fairly priced for what you get. If you're in the area, is worth a trip over. I also heard the restaurant there has good food.
Crooked River Ranch Golf
Played On 09/12/2015Not a bad track
The course is in fairly good shape, and has a nice, pleasant character to it. The views of the Crooked River Gorge from some of the holes are pretty specular. Although water does come into play on a couple holes and there are a couple doglegs here and there, it's a pretty easy and forgiving course for the most part and can be a bit bland at times. The green fees I paid on a Saturday morning made it a not so great value considering what I paid for other tracks. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. All in all, a fun easy play and if I could find a better deal, would play again.
Aspen Lakes Golf & Country Club
Played On 09/10/2015Very Nice Track
The overall conditions of the course were very good, very green, nicely manicured, greens were in excellent condition, and the scenery is beautiful. I thought the course was a little overpriced compared to what I paid at other courses in the area, but definitely worth the play.
We just wanted to apologize for your pace play almost ruining your total experience. We are working with our rangers and ownership to address these issues which are plaguing most public courses these days. Thank You!
