The course was in OK shape, still lots of burnt patches on the fairways and the greens we full of crabgrass and
bumpy. Practice facilities are very nice and you are hitting off grass on the range.

WOW, I just played this course for the first time, this is truly what a golf course should be like. Beautiful scenery, rolling green fairways, and green that are GREEN and open to receiving a good shot! I really can’t say enough good things about this course without sounding like I work there. The price we received on the Golf Now Hot DEAL was an unbelievable, $12.00!!!!!!!! Upon our arrival the staff was open and warm, and very welcoming, even the practice area was very nice and well groomed. The course is challenging and more of a placement type of course, but still very friendly when you hit a stray shot, long hitters be wear getting off the fairway is tuff here!!!! Some of the hole over look a beautiful lake and there are ponds all around the course. Over all a great day of play on a challenging course that I will surely play again.
Cotton Fields Golf Club, The
Played On 08/24/2017Cotton Fields
Cotton Fields is a nicely laid out course, however there is something really wrong going on here. I’m not sure if it is management, keepers, or a water issue, but the greens here are really poor, bare, and extremely slow!!!!! Some are nice but most are not! You also have to like playing over water to like playing here, Hummmmm, maybe they could use some of this water on the GREENS??????? The carts were also in need of repair, one had almost NO BRAKES and the other had vert loose steering. A lot of the course was green, lots of trees and good scenery, but the greens were very poor! I would not play this course again for a good long while, just to see if it recovered or if I found out management changed.
Diamond Valley Golf Club
Played On 05/19/2017VERY POOR CONDITIONS!!!!!
I took the wife to Diamond Valley today, OMG………….How poor can a course possibly be???? Save your money go ANYWHERE else! With all the rain, we have had this winter this place is already DRY, DRY, DRY, you should not get covered in foxtails in your socks while you are walking on the FAIRWAY, or getting to the tee box! We arrived 45 minutes prior to our tee time, the course had NO carts available for you to use! We purchased a bucket of balls and where preparing to walk all the way to the range, when the guy finally came up with an older cart for us to use to play. The course was almost empty for us while we did see a large group of ladies in the club house as we made the turn. I have played in some pretty poor courses in my day but this was about the worst conditions ever and just plan poor grounds keeping!!!! Pass on this place.

This us usually one of my favorite courses. However they have allowed the greens to die completely! Many had very large dirt spots. You could see where they had lightly punched the bad areas to seed them but many of them were just horrible! The fairways were mostly green and nice. Staff was nice and facilities were good. I would choose another course for a while if you want a nice golf day.
La Mirada Golf Club

We played this course yesterday, and found it to be really challenging but nice. There are a lot of blind shots, with sever elevation changes, so it really helps to know where you are going. We found that the yardages really vary from what the card says also, some by more then 30 yards. Overall fairways were well kept and greens were cut very short and a little bumpy.
Glen Ivy Golf Club

I played this course for the first time yesterday and found it very nice. Like most CA courses it needs a little more water on the fairways as there are some burned out spots, but still it was very nice. The greens were very good a little bumpy but they still rolled pretty well. The Sand traps do have a of rocks in them but it does seem to be real sand and the green side bunkers are a lot nicer then the fairway just be careful about the rocks. We found the staff here to be really friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed when they told us there was a beverage kart on course and we never saw her the entire day, they need to work on their communication a little. This is not a walkers course as it is quite hilly.
Over all a GREAT course and I will definitely play it again soon.

I have played this course many time of the past few years. It has been a good while since the last time however as the course is a little pricy for me. Well today was a holiday and I got a smoking deal on Hot deals for today. I gota say I was really disappointed with the course! The greens were nice but everything else is very dry and burned out. While I could understand that with the water shortage being what it is, however it doesn’t take water to keep the bunkers up. Some of the fairway bunkers were over grown BADLY, with tall weeds, and trash stuck in them. There is no excuse for that other than not doing proper maintenance. I will not play here again for a good while.
Golf Summerlin - Eagle Crest Course

I played the course yesterday with my wife. We would the course to be in great shape, greens were very firm and FAST! Fairways were nice and smooth. They have a GREAT practice facilities with a large sand trap with real sand not the river gravel like some of the courses! I will definitely play there again.
Stallion Mountain Golf Club

I played this course for a few days last week, it is VERY challenging. A lot of the greens are turtle shell shaped, and the ball rolls off all sides, odd shapes and are Hard and VERY fast. Extremely hard to stick or hold a ball on the greens. The fairways are narrow with trouble on both sides on many holes. They definitely do not believe in using sand in their bunkers nor mixing/aerating them. They are mostly river gravel, I damaged 2 of my wedges hitting out of them, kinda like hitting out of wet cement! After playing some of the other local courses, I would not recommend this one. Price is high and the value low. I probably will not play there again any time soon.

I played this course for the first time on Sunday. The course is challenging but in GREAT shape! The staff was a little disorganized as I guess management was about to change within the next few days. But I found the course very good, greens are hard and very FAST!!!! Bunkers were very nice and had nice sand and were well mixed, unlike some of the courses in the valley! A great value for the money. I will definitely play here again.
Thanks for your comment! We're happy to hear you had a nice time and enjoyed our course! Hope to see you again soon!
Eglin AFB Golf Course - Eagle
Played On 04/29/2015Eglin Eagle
We played this course today and found it really nice. The course is hilly and can be quite challenging as a lot of the shots are completely blind. Some directionally poles or guides would be REALLY nice here. Bunkers were not well kept which surprised me a LOT, due to the heavy rain the last few days they were very compacted and like wet cement. However the greens were very shortly cut and slow but rolled out nicely. I would definitely like to play this course again now that I know where I'm going!!!
Shalimar Pointe Golf Club

My friends and I played the course on Sunday. The course itself is challenging and nicely laid out. However the greens and some of the tee boxes were horrible! The pro shop guy told us they were going to punch them on Monday the 4/27. But they were painted and cut very short when we played. The disappointing part is that no one told us before we played!!! Golfnow didn't post and has still not posted the aeration of the course?
Shandin Hills Golf Club

I have played this course for several years and enjoy the layout. I've seen it good from poor to GREAT and now back to POOR again. The fairways are extremely ruff with large holes all over the place, goffer and squire holes abound through out the course. The greens had recently been pouched, but of course there was not mention of that either in the site nor in the pro shop. One of the really sore spots for me is the sand traps, or what they call sand traps. What good does it do to rake a trap with a machine then WATER it to death so the sand sets up like cement? They use to really groom the sand really well on Sundays so they were nice for the men's club play. NO more! Some even still had standing water in them, making them a muddy mess. Very unfortunate, as I will not go back in the near future.

The course was in good condition, the greens were GREAT! I'm not sure why but I always seems to score well here. Some if the holes here are extremely challenging.
Yucaipa Valley Golf Club
Played On 02/16/2015Yucipa Valley GC
A friend of mine and I played this course yesterday. I found the course to be in outstanding condition, the fairways were green and nicely cared for, the greens were soft, sloped/rolling but the holes were place in very difficult positions. Overall the course was really nice. The pro shop is brand new and they are holding a grand opening for the banquet facilities are opening March 7th. We will definitely play there again soon.
Thank you for great feedback and we look forward to seeing you out on the course again soon. Our Grand Opening Celebration on March 7th will include a Demo Day event, Skills Challenge, and $1,000 Putting Contest among a host of other activities. I hope to see you in attendance!
Shandin Hills Golf Club
Played On 01/20/2015Shandin Hills
My wife and I play Shandin and found it really lacking! Let me start by saying that we play here often and really like the layout. However, the fairways are spotty and dead, giant clumps of grass sticking up and they are very uneven. It appears they did not reseed during the early Fall season. The greens were nice and green, a little soggy and slow but nice. It really seems that no one is taking care of the place anymore! During the wind storm a week or so ago they lost quite a few trees and limbs/branches were still laying on the ground all over the place. We even had a couple of workers drive past us as we were starting to tee off the drive down the fairway and start digging a hole in the middle of the fairway about 175 yds out. We waited a couple of minutes for them to move off and they kept digging! So we hit AWAY!!!! After the second missile went screaming over their heads they finally walked off to the side so we could tee off, they were still there, when we came back on the a few hole later, dodging other golfers and holding up quite a few groups. Over all we found the conditions of the course be very poor.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - North Course
Played On 01/07/2015Indian Canyon North Course
This is a gorgeous course!!! We played the North course and it was VERY nice. Very green and lush, Greens were tuff, fast and hard, but rolled true as could be. The North course runs among some really nice home tracts and is very picturesque. Staff was very pleasant. If these was anything of a negative nature it would be that there was no food service available at the turn. However they did have the beverage kart out and we got to see her quite a few times during the round. This is a GOTA play again course for the wife and I.
Rancho Mirage Country Club
Played On 01/06/2015Rancho Mirage
My wife and I played the course and had a very nice time. The fairways are not as green as some of the other courses we played but over all very nice. The layout is a little confusing if you haven’t played there before, and some signage might help that confusion. We had several groups in front of us go the wrong way and switched for the front 9 onto the back 9 mid round, as all of a sudden there was no one in front of us! The greens are hard and FAST, so not much flag hunting here! But they roll very nicely and can be challenging.
Desperado/Diablo at Badlands Golf Club
Played On 11/27/2014If you're going to be open on a holiday be OPEN!!!!!!!
Our group played this course on Thanksgiving morning, that being said, I have to say that the management in the pro shop were openly very rude to quite a few people that wanted to play their course that morning. We had arrived an hour early for our 9:45 tee time, wanting to hit some balls to warm up. We were told that the range was already closed so their people could go home early. If we had an hour to wait what were we all supposed to do???? If you are going to sell tee times on a holiday, you should be open to service your customers!!!! They told us that the last tee time would be 10:45 that day, which shouldn’t have affected us at all. The staff that helped us load the karts were very courteous and seemed happy we were there. When we checked in with the starter he asked if we were all there and ready to play and put us out at 9:15 but was pretty surly about being there. He put us out 30 minutes early and there was no one in front of us that we ever saw. A marshal then approached us on the second hole to speed up, as if we were holding other groups up! Not our fault there was a gap in putting groups out, we politely as possible told him to pound sand!
The course is made up of 3, 9 hole courses, we played Outlaw and Diablo, the easier of the three. Once out on the course it was really nice and the scenery was very picturesque. When we made the turn the club house was CLOSED and there were no services available at all, but there was still staff on site, very poor customer service there guys!!!! There was a beverage kart running and we saw here a couple of times throughout the day. We had never played this course before, but the karts had a GPS, but really left a lot of details out that would have been really nice to know BEFORE you made a drive! Like having a split fairway, or even how far the carry needed to be to get to the fairway! We finished the course in 4 hours as expected with only a few people still there to collect the last few karts.
Over all a very nice day of golf on a really nice course, despite the rudeness of some of the staff. We would definitely play this course again.
Hello. Thank you for your recent business and for the positive remarks regarding the staff and facilities...we appreciate it.
Yes a few of our greens were experiencing some difficulties because of the heat. Our maintenance staff is on top of it and shortly they will be back to "Jurupa Style".
Thanks again for coming out and we look forward to your return.
