Basic golf - Nothing special - I always enjoy playing this course - Greens are good, but small - Fairways and tee boxes need work - Good for walkers.

This course would be more appealing with a general clean-up of the flora. New flag sticks and tee markers would be inexpensive, an image improvement and very much appreciated.

This course is in great shape for this time of year.
The fairways are wide, the tee boxes are flat and the greens are in really good condition. Plenty of grass in the fairways. The bunker sand is well groomed.
Overall - a fun course to play.

I had not played the course in about three years and was happy to see it is getting better with age. Wide fairways and tee boxes in good shape. The greens were mowed too short for the recent hot weather and it showed. Let the greens turf be a little long during hot weather. It is best for the greens and play in the long run. I will be back ... it is a fun course to play with a lot of variation.

Canyon Mesa has been on my regular "must play" list for years. It is my wife's favorite course. When we go to Sedona, we usually play here. Every hole is a postcard. You can not beat the scenery. It is just a pleasure to play and experience. Got my first hole in one there yesterday on the ninth hole.

*My first time playing the course along and also for the three gentlemen that joined me. Tee boxes, fairways, bunkers and greens are all in very good condition. The fairways are bigger than most courses. Rather hard to lose a ball. Trees are few and far between. Greens have enough size and undulation to be interesting. I now regret not playing this course in the past. The staff is knowledgeable, helpful and courteous.
*My only complaint is no water or beverage cart on the course.

I have played this course for 15 years. The past five years has seen a steady decline. Deferred maintenance is starting to take a toll. Sadly, it appears the only attention the course gets is keeping the grass cut. The greens are already cut too short for the coming hot temperatures. I played in 2 1/2 hours - because the course was empty on a day with perfect weather. I hope this course doesn't close because of lack of play.

Once we played through a very slow group, the pace was fast. The facility has improved in the past 12 months. The small greens will sharpen your short game. Bunkers have decent sand and are maintained well. The greens are very good with plenty of contours. Fairways and tees are better than average for this part of the country. Distance poles are a nice addition. The carts are new and kept very clean.

This course was updated last year - huge improvement to the old tract. I have played it for the past 18 years. Greens are still small but are now in great condition - quick too. Bunkers are still numerous and contain quality sand. The green surrounds are well maintained. Fairways are wide and the turf is thick and nicely mown. Tee boxes are in excellent shape and well constructed. Drainage is much better than the old course. It is wall to wall green with a lot of large trees - thought I was back in the Midwest. I will walk this course next time to enjoy the "green." Needs more water stations. The staff was attentive and helpful. A very pleasant experience.

From start to finish - a great experience. Great layout and well maintained. Bunkers are frequent but fair, not penal. Greens roll true. Tee boxes and fairways are in excellent condition. There is no way you could not enjoy and appreciate this course. Well worth the drive from Tempe.

Greens were much better than in the past. Tee boxes still need work. Fairways were not over-seeded making for a few bad lies after decent shots.

Rough 4 to 6 inches depth slowed down the game for a couple of our players. Several balls were lost. Just keep it mowed - this is not a US Open qualifier course. Most fairways could be a few yards wider. Plays slower than most Phoenix area courses. Tee time was delayed 35 minutes because of slow play and not enough carts. Carts need maintenance. The beverage cart was off the course after our 1st hole.

Fun course that will sharpen your driving and short game. The greens are very good.

This course was on my "don't ever play again" list. It always seemed to be in worst shape than the previous time I played it. I heard last week it made a comeback. Taking advantage of the low Golfnow hot deals rate, I gave it another chance. I was surprised to find the course in really good shape and well maintained. The greens are better than ever before, not too slow and not too fast. The fairways and tee boxes are mowed just right. The layout was always interesting and fun to think through. Now, because of proper care, I'm very happy to say this course is back on my "must play regular" list.

Always a pleasant experience, plays quick, the course condition is always improving and the staff is excellent.

As an Arizona resident, I really appreciate this contrast to desert golf. The pro shop and course maintenance staffs are personnalbe and very competent. A definite "must play" when I'm in the Monterey area again.
