Brentwood Golf Club - Creekside/Hillside Course
Played On 06/04/2017Strange Sunday
12:40 tee time . . . and finished at 5:40, so just figure . . . 5 hours? Wide open holes ahead, but the twosome I played with were beginners. and one lost over 2 dozen balls.
Should have zoomed off ahead, but do not like playing alone.
Missed first half of the Warriors playoff game
Bunkers were crusty, hardpan. The one at the left of 18th green was so deep I could not get out (knee and hip replaced), and had to crawl out on my stomach
Blue Rock Springs Golf Course - West
Played On 05/21/2017Great day !
Course was in superb shape, and the putting greens perfect. Waited for a later, mid day Sunday tee time, and did not have to wait on any hole. It was a perfect day all the way around
Lake Chabot Golf Course - The 18 Hole Course
Played On 02/14/2016Grand old track in the Oakland hills
I played this course from 1980 to 1995, and it was in much better shape yesterday than in any of those years. New management, and a new look to some wonderful old holes.
Eagle Vines Golf Club
Played On 09/06/2015Great, new experience
A cousin to the Chardonney course right next door - they apparently bought nine holes - the new nine is a nice combination of rolling hills and elevation shots. I will go back for more.
Hiddenbrooke Golf Club
Played On 01/08/2015Hiddenbrooke is a Nor Cal golf gem
One of my favorite course, especially when a great discounted tee time comes up on Golf Now. Every hole is different, with no repetitious shots. Greens were rolling like a pool table.
Not too happy having to pay the service charges, after these were waived most of all last year. Perhaps you need to record a number of reservations paid before the charges are waived?
Shadow Lakes Club
Played On 11/08/2013Great track ... suffering however, from lack of water (rain)
The two sister courses – Shadow Lakes and Deer Ridge – are my favorites. Bent grass fairways and greens are especially nice to play on in this sea of Poa Anna we have around here.
The greens were just punched last week, and difficult to putt as expected, but the reduced green fee made it a worthwhile afternoon.
I will be back.
Deer Ridge Golf Club
Played On 10/29/2013One the best courses we have in the area!
Deer Ridge is a real gem, especially for us "senior" golfers. While the holes are all challenging, they are more than fair for play – being able to actually get on par 4's in two is great thing for those of us who are loosing distance on our drives.
The bent grass greens are fantastic to putt, and roll true and fast.
I always look forward to my rounds here, and will be on the anticipating the next email offer for the super discounted afternoon rate
Coyote Run Golf Course
Played On 9/27/2013Front nine was closed – played the back only – need some love and water
What a trip, need to go through security to get onto Beale Air Force Base, and get escorted to the golf club by one of the course employees. Definitely an old, classic course in the middle of a huge AFB, with the latest "spy" planes doing touch-and-go practice right over your head. Some really cool holes, challenging – but definitely in need of more water and personal attention (wait till the rains come). Greens were tragically slow, but they were punching the next day.
Hey, for $5 each – it was a great time
Lone Tree Golf Course
Played On 08/23/2013A "classic" track – top muni course in Bay Area !
Each of the 18 holes is unique and fun to play – you use every club in the bag, and can have a chance for a birdie, or double – on any hole. New clubhouse is super, we stayed for a great early-bird dinner. I'll be back.
Roddy Ranch Golf Club
Played On 11/15/2012Great golf experience, especially in rainy weather – super drainage
Always such a pleasure playing on bent grass – fairways and greens (super fast). Most all our other courses are poa anna. Thanks Golf Now for the great rate!
Delta View Golf Course
Played On 10/16/2012Best value for your money! Fun to play ...
Delta View is really two distinct nine hole tracks, with the "new" side having some pretty dramatic views from mountain-top like tees and gentle rolling fairways.
The back nine (by Allister McKenzie) is probably 70 years old and was built for the military (the old Weapons Depot deployment). A classic feel, gently placed in a valley using the natural hillsides to frame small, challenging greens.
Hit fairways, and read your putts correctly, and you can beat your handicap. Miss shots, and you may post a big number.
Are you complaining about missing a Warriors game that you choose to play golf over ? That's what DVR's are for :)
