Glen Abbey Golf Club
Played On 11/16/2016A Classic Canadian Course
As many know, Glen Abbey has been home to the Canadian Open on numerous occasions/years and that alone is enough to warrant spending the money to play. The first few holes aren't overly inspiring by any means but once you arrive to the valley holes, it's at that point that the course starts to shine. Also, holes 16, 17 and 18 are great finishing holes (especially if you are playing a match with friends). I wouldn't go back to "The Abbey" frequently to play golf but will certainly say it's a must play.
Lionhead Golf and Country Club - Legends
Played On 07/11/2013Complete Target Golf
There are golf courses out there that force golfers to hit to targets that I enjoy but this course was to the EXTREME. Two of the par fives give you very little area to land your drive and two others force you to lay up at 240 yards from the tee before a hazard. I'm ok with the option of laying up off of the tee ONLY if the carry required isn't 290+ yards. Beyond that, the course is extremely difficult and seems to be difficult "just cause" instead of difficult in a strategic way.
I am a 4 handicap and found the course very difficult. Anyone who is above a 10 index length will leave this course very upset and dissatisfied. I am a proponent of the tee it forward program and even when playing from the correct tee's, many will find this course VERY unfair.
