Greens are Firm fast and true. Great track overall it will work every aspect of your short game if you miss these greens!!

I Have played here each of the last 5 Winters was pretty disappointed that they changed the 1st hole from a great opening Par 5 to a pretty boring Par 4. I get the reasoning to accommodate the junior program practice area but they took away a great opening hole!! Course is a real challenge from the back tees both length and accuracy are key. Greens rolled real nice and were in good shape. There are a few holes that seem to always be pretty wet but they are still playable. Will definitely keep playing here every winter.

Its Been about 2 years since I played here and was so glad to see the course in such good shape. This is one of the most challenging layouts in the area especially from the tips. Wonderful design by Nicklaus there is not a single disappointing hole on this course in my opinion some of the best par 4's around #3 #11 as good as it gets! The greens were fast and true an absolute joy to putt on! We flew around the course in 3 1/2 hours on a windy chilly afternoon.

I have been playing old south during the winter for approximately 10 years and this is as good as I have seen the greens roll. They are usually a bit on the slower side but they had a really nice pace for my first round there this winter. I always bring friends who come to visit from PA to play here it is one of the more interesting layouts in the area. Good challenge from the tips even though it's not very long I love that I get to hit nearly every club in my bag.

This is my 2nd time playing Dolphin Head over the past 2 winters. The thing that's stands out the most to me about this course is how true the greens are if you start it on the right line it will stay there! I have played virtually all the public courses and many of the private courses on the island and in Bluffton and I have not seen greens anywhere that role truer then these do. This course although not very long is a very good test from the Tips. I think the Par 3's and the Par 5's are stand outs on this course with a couple of the 3's being over 200 yards from the back tees and a couple of the Par 5's having forced carry's for your 2nd shot and all of them being reachable for a longer hitter. I would strongly suggest you do your best to stay below the hole all day. The downhill putts are very slippery!! The most severe being the first 2 holes so don't get discouraged it gets a little easier after the first 2 greens if you do happen to get above the hole. This is a wonderful course and a great test I recommend it to all.

I have played this course many times and it is always in great shape!! I wish the Greens were faster but that is the only thing I would say is lacking. One of the best features for me is the different choices off the Back Tee's I used 3 wood 3 or 4 times and 3 Hybrid a few times as well. You have plenty of opportunity to let it fly with the driver also. Very strong Par 5's and par 3's on this course and you have to think your way thru most of the par 4's!! I highly recommend playing this track!!
