I was a single paired with another twosome. I have not played this course in about 4 years and so was a little unfamiliar. One of the guys in the twosome had the course on his phone and helped point the way on the holes.
Checking in the pro shop was very helpful and the starter was more than friendly. Can't complain about the staff.
Course was in very good condition and the greens were very nice. Only complaint is that the bunkers had very little sand and packed very hard. Looked like they had not been attended to in some time. That's the only complaint I had about the course, otherwise I would have given it a 5.

Fairways are just ok, although you will get a lot of roll. Local knowledge is helpful as all but a couple tee shots on the par 4's and 4's are blind. This only adds to the challenge. The greens were in great shape and rolled true. Overall I found the course a lot of fun to play. It's only 9 holes so on my second time around I had a little better idea of where I should aim my tee shot. Greens also have some contours and most of them are raised so it's important to hit the green and hopefully hold. The sand traps have all been filled in (no sand anymore).
The owner / staff was very friendly. There are not any amenities in the clubhouse. Just some snacks and soft drinks. Also, the course is way out in the country. There were not many playing on the day I was there and I think that's probably par for the course. If you want somewhere to have a little fun and a course that's not crowded, this is the place. I will definitely play again.

Last time playing the course backwards. The regular greens will be open next Friday. It is challenging playing the course backwards. Makes you think more than usual, especially on drives as the landing areas are not generally wide where the ball will land. Also, approach shots to such small greens is interesting. Really enjoyed this approach to the game.

Have played here many times. Staff is always friendly and if the course s not busy I can always start early. Fairways in good condition and greens as well. Played in less than 3 hours.

OK, how many times do you get to play a course in reverse? It was a bit of a challenge since this is not the normal way to play. Yes, the greens are what used to be the tee boxes and they are quite small. Probably why I only hit 2 greens all day. Although I wouldn't want to play this direction all the time, it certainly made you think on the course, which made it somewhat fun.
The fairways were in excellent condition. Some of the best I have played in a long time.
So, just go and have some fun. Where else can you play for $20?

Came an hour early because it was supposed to rain. Tee was open and they let me on as a single. Never did run into another group. Finished in under 3 hours. Fairways were in good condition. Greens had been recently Aeified didn’t roll quite true, but I knew that before beginning. Still it was great and will play here often .

Play this course often when in the Greenville area. Wish GolfNow would get their name correct. It’s Legacy Pines now.
Course is fun to play.. fairways are wide which is good for recreational players. Four sets of tees makes it nice. Hazards around greens means you need to think about that approach. Greens are fun.
I have lauded this for the past two years and they are continually making improvements. Love the par 3 #8. They have done an amazing job on the new layout.

Still early spring/winter so fairways still brown. Greens in good condition and sand traps well groomed. Course layout is fun.

Was going great as a single until the 8th hole. There were 4 groups backed up on the tee. Joined the single behind me then on the 10th we were backed up again. Twosome be mind us joined us and we waited on every hole. Still, the outing was fun and I made new friends. Course was just ok. Greens were in pretty good shape. Fairways were hard and limited grass in spots. Just need some spring growth. Course layout is fun. Makes you think on almost every hole.

I have played this course a number of times this past year. The staff is always super friendly. Course is in decent condition. Greens are always really good. I like the layout. There's something a little different on every hole which makes you really think about your shot and the next one after that. I especially like the par 3 at #8 where you go over a creek to the green and also #18 which is a drive over a lake. Always a fun time. Unfortunately on this particular day there was a downpour and I had to stop at 9 holes. Got a rain check for another 9.

First time playing this course. The diagrams at the tee box were helpful as a lot of the drives were blind shots. Very interesting layout. lots of elevation changes and many of the approaches are uphill to the green. Suggest taking a little more club. Course had a little damage on some fairways, but they were working on it and looks like it will come around. Greens were good and pretty fast. Definitely will play again. I played at noon and practically had the course to myself and the maintenance staff.
The snack bar appears to have a pretty good menu and the staff is super friendly.

Played in the early morning and finished in under 3 hours as a single. Very friendly staff. As for the course conditions, I think some of the reviewers are probably used to pristine courses. No, it's not pristine, but I have played much worse. Fairways were ok. Some greens were undergoing work, but let's be fair. Where can you play anywhere on Hilton Head for $25? This is a fantastic value. I actually only had 28 putts, so the greens were not that bad. Certainly not as bad as some of the reviewers described. Give the course a try. I almost cancelled after reading some of the reviews. Glad I didn't. Would certainly play it again.

Played as a single on a rainy day. First time here and thought after the first 3 holes it was going to be an easy day. Then started #4 and from there on it became interesting. Not a long course, but many blind shots. Recommend going ahead to see the course before hitting your next shot.

Have played this course a few times in the past. Had a friend visiting and thought he would enjoy this course. Staff was super friendly and helpful. We did not encounter anyone in front of us that impacted our pace and on the back 9 let a single play through.
Love the layout. Course was in excellent condition. #17 had some work being done around the green, but did not impact our play. The sand traps were not recently raked, but we had some heavy rains recently. Normally they are excellent.

Plays on the early AM and pace of play was good. That is until I hit the 14th fairway and there were kids all over the fairway. Not sure why they were there. Probably some golf school. Anyway, I played thru them, then hit another group on 15. Afraid I was going to hit them because they did not move. On 16 the kids just stood on the middle of the fairway and did not let me play thru. Skipped the hole and went on. Too bad this happenedd because up" til then, it was a really enjoyable round. I would play here again, but only if the kids were not on the course.

have played this course a number of times. Went from C to A (B was closed for renovation). It was like playing two different courses. Greens on C were SLOW. Greens on A were fast.
Has a couple walkers in front that would not let us pass. Then at the turn we ran into two 4-somes of women. VERY SLOW behind them. Decided to give up after a couple of holes. I could see the last 9 holes was going to be at least 3 hours or more. Besides, it was very hot and nor breze.

Played as a single and was paired with 3 others. Had to share a cart. Normally I am ok with that, but the guy drank 6 beers on the front (and we started at 8 in the AM). Course is a nice layout but lot of water. Greens were very bad. Little real grass and not true. Needs some time to grow in. Overall I did enjoy the course. Views of the bay are great. Staff was super helpful.

Had reservations for the Oaks, but course was closed due to recent rains. Was paired with another guy, which was helpful for the local knowledge. Pace was slow, but played in 4 hours. Condition of some greens was not excellent. Winter freeze delayed the spring growth. Greens were playable though and the grounds crew should be given credit. Can't beat the value.

Played in mid-afternoon as a single. Great value on GolfNow.com Greens were in fairly good condition. The fairways were not in the best of shape, but still worth the price. Lot of blind shots. I have played here before and local knowledge really helps.
Really like this course. It is in the process of being sold and will be going through transition soon and completely updated. Looking forward to it.
Staff was super friendly. Arrived early and they let me right on. Finished 18 holes in under 3 hours.

Have not played this course. They had two courses but one was closed a number of years ago. Fairways probably have not had irrigation in a long time. Very little grass, mostly weeds. Greens on the front were in sad shape. Back 9 was much better. Overall I enjoyed the layout, but it really needs maintenance. Bunkers did not have any sand, just dirt and no rakes.
I did enjoy the layout. Just wish it was in better condition. Probably will not play here again unless conditions improve.
