Course was in better shape than I have seen it in the past. Greens were decent which is my primary focus when I play a course. You have to get an early tee time to get a round in that is around 4 hours. So any time after 8:30-9:00 times start extending more than 4 hours. No course ranger to keep pace so it goes as fast as the slowest group in front of you.

If I book a tee time here again it will be as early morning as I can get it. Every time I book after 1030 it winds up being slow play.
We played as a threesome and it took 5 1/2 hours to play 18 holes.
Manatee county and Pope management should figure out that by allowing slow play they are losing revenue because they get less people to come and play after really slow rounds and also they can sell more tee times if there is someone to Marshall the pace of play and get people moving along to keep pace even if they have to MOVE TO THE TEEs they should be hitting from and pick up and move to the next hole if they can’t keep a regular pace that is fair to the golfers playing behind them. It only takes one group to drag the pace down and make it agonizing slow for everyone playing behind them to play the course. Please hire a ranger, the money you pay them will be made up by the additional rounds you will be able to sell.

I enjoyed the course, everyone was friendly and cart girl made several stops while we played. The course has lots of doglegs and accuracy is important to score well.
A good challenge to score well on course.

The course is not in perfect shape on tee boxes and fairways but the greens were in perfect shape which is the most important thing to me.

Can’t see how they expect you to get 18 holes in when you start at 1 and the pace of play does not allow you to be done and have your cart back by 5?
I like the course layout and have seen improvements in the course over the last two years but it still has a ways to go.

Ther was a ranger out and reminding everyone the carts and to be back by 5 o’clock but they did not seem to be able to get people moving at a better pace.

Will not book a time after Noon in the future because of this experience.

The condition of the course I found to be very good, the fairways and greens are in great shape.
The course has hills and slopes on the fairways and is not the normal flat course you find in the area. Driving range is available and putting green is large. Variety of hole layout is nice.
I enjoy the course and will play it again.

Second time playing course, the greens are in great shape and run at a good speed. The overall condition of the course is good to excellent in all areas. Watch out for a couple of holes that water creeps into a possible landing area. Nice practice areas for putting and warming up on the range,( I don't care for water ball ranges but it lets you warm up your swing before your round).

I like this course a lot, mainly because the greens are cut down and running fast. I always rate a course on the condition of the greens and these were in great shape.
You did not have to hit your putt very hard because of the speed of the greens. The greens have a lot of undulation in them also, but not so they are impossible to make good putts on.
Enough about the greens, I found the course to be in very good shape and the people who work there very nice. The layout was nice and the landscaping was good.

I enjoyed the course and will play it again whenever I have the chance to. Great friendly staff from the cart staff to the marshalls on the course. Pro shop is not large but the people are very nice. There is enough drinking water available on the course as the weather can be very hot.

I have played this course about ten times now and have enjoyed it more each time.
It is as challenging as you want it to be based on the tees you play from.
It has a good layout and the fairways are in good shape for this time of year.
Greens are in nice shape and are a little long right now but they can get quick when cut down further, not that you have to hit it hard to get it to your target even now.

The course is in nice shape for this time of year and the greens have almost completely healed after being aerated earlier this year.

I played the course previously and enjoyed it so I came back.
Yes it is hot out and a lot less players out playing in the heat but there were still slow players in the front of me on the back nine. Played the front in 1.5 hours and the back was over 2 hours after I ran into players going slow.
The course is beautifully landscaped and just pretty!
The course is tough because of the wind which can blow hard at times and calm the next second. greens had been punch recently and had just a few areas that were still bumpy. Overall condition of the course was pretty good considering the time of year. I will plaay it again!

Th.e course needs work on sand bunkers, they are clay under a small amount of sand.
The greens were punched and I was not told or made aware of it so it was disappointing because I feel that the greens are the most important part of golfing enjoyment.

Enjoyed the course very much, it was in very good shape and the greens are rolling smoothly.

I played here and found the course to be in very nice shape. The greens are firm and hold a good shot and they are not really fast but are still quick. The greens are difficult to putt on because of the small ridges and hills on them...best to be below the hole so you can take a run at the hole.

I booked a time on Golfnow and was pleased by the layout and condition of the greens.
I found that the course has some forced carries unless you wanted to lay up way short.
I had no problem with the condition of the course, the rough is very rough in most locations and finding balls is tough if you go into it.
I felt that the number of tee boxes made it possible for many skill levels to be able to enjoy the course.
I found the speed of the greens to be fine although I was told that when the weather got drier they became very hard to putt on.

I would go back and play the course again if I can get another good deal online.
I had to travel 40 miles to play the course so the costs becomes time and gas and the green fee.

The course was not what I would consider good shape.
The grass on the greens was long and made putting hard because of how hard you had to hit the ball. The course has not changed a whole lot in the last 20 years except that the trees are bigger and taller.

The bad thing is the course was packed and there was no starter at the first tee box to control tee off times or any ranger on the course to keep people moving.

The pace of play was slow and there was a group several groups in front of us that was holding back a group of five women who were playing in front of us. It seems like a lot of retired older people playing and walking the course...slowly.

We had a great day for golf and the course was in nice shape and the greens were quick.
Will be back to play the course again even with the drive from Mpls, Mn.

The deal would have been good had the pace of play not been very slow.
The last time we saw the marshall was at the first tee.
