Avila Beach Golf Resort
Played On 04/22/2023Horrible Golf Outing
Please don’t waste your money at this course. Only the back 9 is opened and the course is in horrible condition. Fairways are bare without much grass, greens are bumpy, cart paths need to be repaired. Please don’t waste your money at this course.
Oakcreek Country Club

I was able to play this course on Easter morning and was the first one out. The staff was very accommodating with getting my rental clubs ready for me to get some practice in even before they were officially open. The driving range seemed short but was very adequate since the area is above sea level.
On to the course.....
To start with, the tee boxes were lush without any "bad" spots. The fairways were very lush and thick, felt like I was hitting off nice thick turf. The rough didn't look thick at all but when the ball goes in it sits all the way down and is very punishing. The greens were very nice and fast towards the canyon and not so much towards the red rock as advised by the starter. The views of the scenery on the course are AMAZING. I caught myself losing focus on a number of holes because the scenery were so breathtaking. I wish I was able to post some pictures with this review to give you the real perspective. Do yourself a favor and play this course if you're in the area. I will definitely be back!!!!
I've played several RTJ courses in Alabama and this one ranks as the best so far.
Pearland Golf Club

I recently moved to Houston from Florida and this course is very reminiscent of many layouts found in Florida. The course has a lot of character. You have water in play on several holes, fairways are tight, and you have to shape your shots both ways. Surprisingly, the greens were very nice for this time of year. I've been searching for this type of course and I've found a hidden gem. I will definitely be back!

The course and views were amazing but the pro shop guy needs a reality check. Golf is a luxury these days and consumers have a choice. If you're vacationing and want an amazing experience from the time you step foot out of your vehicle, you may want to try a different course. This guy totally didn't appreciate the fact that I was patronizing his course which set the tone for my round. To my amazement when I was done, the pro shop guy walked right past me and didn't say one word. Golfers deserve better treatment especially when visiting courses for the first time.
Gulf Shores Golf Club

First let me say that I'm a local from Pensacola and this course is the best I've played this winter. I've played a few of the other local course but none can touch Gulf Shores. The greens were fast and green plus the fairways were green. I would go back in a heartbeat if my wallet allowed it. Oh yeah, plus the food was great at the 19th hole.... The chicken salad was AWESOME!
The National Golf Club of Louisiana
Played On 03/07/2014Despite the season, EXCELLENT condition!
Played this course in early spring and the conditions were better than expected. Although it's been a very cold winter, the course is already green. The greens were running true and fast.
Perdido Bay Golf Club
Played On 12/6/2013Course is in great shape but staff is horrible!
I was sent out by myself and decided to skip a few holes since the slow groups wouldn't allow me through. First got harassed by maintenance then the so-called Pro came out to remind me not to rush maintenance, really? It was approaching 9:30 so why is maintenance still getting the front 9 ready? I guess I won't be patronizing this course anytime soon.
Marcus Pointe Golf Club
Played On 7/17/2013The greens are worse than shag carpet from the 70's.
Please don't waste your money on this course. I can't understand why they are having such a difficult time with their greens. It's toatlly baffling to say the least!
