Deep Creek Golf Club
Played On 03/15/2024Needs work
I cannot recommend Deep Creek based on the greens alone. Crabgrass, poa annua, extensive bare spots and a stimp meter that wouldn’t have brushed 8 and… need I say more? Add the bare fairways and wanting tee boxes and what else remains? All this for $80. How about, no…
Coral Oaks Golf Course
Played On 11/07/2023Pretty straightforward layout with plenty of chances to rinse a ball. Typical Florida tight-lies fairways and sparse rough. Greens in good shape; tee boxes not so much. Bunkers need tending and more sand. Staff very friendly and helpful. Decent value for the money.

Played On 02/11/2022Poor conditions
Decent layout, but sparse grass on fairways, zero rough, and browned out, inconsistent greens. All this for $60+. Staff is very welcoming and friendly. But I won't be playing there again until they turn the track around. Wish I could say it wasn't so.
Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 07/24/2021Under construction
This WAS a go-to course for me. No longer. Residential development is going full bore with acres of trees and brush leveled and replaced with large mounds of gray dirt & uprooted foliage. Even on a Saturday the crews were at work amping up the noise levels.
Several holes have been re-routed and the entire course seems barren. Small houses now line several fairways and it looks like this once attractive track will be swallowed by the construction and dwellings.
Had a twosome in front of me that allowed the group fronting them to disappear entirely. Could have had ball’n chain attached. No ranger to move them along, no cart service, no water on the course ( i brought my own).
For $42 including range balls the price was about the only thing right.
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback as we will use your review to better the experience going forward. We hope you give us another try in the near future!

Eagle Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/12/2021Charlotte Harbor National Golf Club
Played On 03/11/2021Played this course before and it has taken a backslide. For $85.00 I was sorely disappointed with course conditions, most prominently the greens and fairways. Hardpan fairways with little grass and no rough are not acceptable conditions. Add dormant greens hard as cement with a stimp above 12 and this course was not a pleasurable playing experience. I had brought a friend visiting from the northeast and truthfully, I was embarrassed.
The staff was friendly and helpful and the course gps functioned well enough ( until it gave out on the 18th). Even the layout is fine with lots of water coming into play. But, changing the name to Charlotte Harbor “National” from Bobcat Trail falls short of providing value for the money. I realize we are in season here and so rates reflect that. But, no justification for the greens fee exists here. I won’t be playing this course again, regardless of the rate.
Twin Isles Country Club
Played On 02/18/2021Plays tougher than the slope
Played from the blacks (5,950+) on a sunny, WINDY day with 20 mph winds swirling. This altered the 119 slope significantly although the course would have played a bit harder in any case. Water comes into play on a significant number of holes and so do the fairway bunkers. They're placed close enough to landing areas as to be real considerations versus scenery. Add the windy conditions and the challenge was apparent. Greenside bunkers also offered a good risk-reward, especially with the pin placements.
Course conditions were good with greens and tee boxes well kept and manicured. The greens rolled true at about a 10. Bunkers had a good 3"-5" of white sand on a consistent basis. After finding 2 fairway and 2 greenside bunkers I can attest to that from experience. The fairways were a bit thin on grass as was the rough, but it's the dry season in FL. Still, it wasn't a problem.
The head pro and his people were more than friendly and accommodating and the practice putting areas were in good shape. The range was OK, they could use an infusion of new balls - but it IS only a warmup area. Very happy with the round and the value for the money.

Like the staff a lot; friendly and helpful. Carts are electric and run well. All tee boxes are marked and have ball washers. Saw the cart girl 3-4 times. Played in 4.5 hours. Greens were good, if somewhat flat. Tee boxes in decent shape, but rough was thin & bare. Bunkers need more consistency with sand and fairways need grass badly. Nice cart paths on back nine, front nine torn up.
This is a good course for a casual round. Water comes into play on about 50% of the time. Played the white tees at 6145 yds. The senior tees really back off at 5650, a 500 yard cut. But, they really need to overseed.
Hi Vmagolfcoach, thank you for taking the time to review the course and rate us 3-stars. We're going to pass along your feedback to the staff so they can work to make any necessary changes, but we're glad to hear you still enjoyed your recent round with us. Thanks for visiting us and we hope to welcome you back for an even better golf experience soon!
Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 11/09/2018Always a good choice
Magnolia Landing is one of my go-to courses in Ft. Myers. A solid layout where most holes make you think about shot placement off the tee and with approaches. Plenty of water to deal with and well placed bunkers. Greens are a bit fast with some tricky breaks. Bunkers could use more sand and ball washers would help. 4:15 round was a good pace.
Hi, we are very excited to hear that we are one of your go-to courses. Thank you so much for the 5-star review. Please come back and tee it up again at Magnolia Landing.
Stoneybrook Golf Club
Played On 11/07/2018Good for the money
A decent course for the money. Through the green in good shape. Bunkers had little or no sand in most. Water in play on a few holes laterally made accuracy on them paramount. A nice experience for the Golfnow rate.
Loch Nairn Golf Course
Played On 09/19/2018Could be so much better
Ok, the rain has been almost biblical, but allowing for that, this course needs some work. Tee boxes are uneven and mostly dirt. Fairways have little grass. Greens are in decent shape, but with inconsistent speeds. Cart paths are chewed up with potholes and the directional signage needs a transfusion. At least two holes should have been closed because of standing fairway water. Saw NO grounds crew working to alleviate conditions. Pro shop has little merchandise. Is $ a problem here? Won’t be playing here again anytime soon.
Quail Run Golf Club
Played On 02/28/2018A big little course
Don’t let the 5,200 yard number fool you, there’s enough of a challenge in this target oriented layout. Fairways can be narrow and fairway bunkers are well-placed. Not too much water comes into play unless your swing lets it.
The condition of this course is outstanding. Plenty of grass in the fairways and a short rough allows for easy ball-striking. Bunkers all around had ample sand although a few more rakes would’ve been a plus. The greens were fast enough ( I’m guessing 10.5 - 11) and rolled true. Not as much break as you’d think so don’t over-read them.
Pace of play was 4:15 and our group hit from three different tees. For $63.00 I’ll play it again with a buddy.
Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Oaks/Marsh Course
Played On 02/13/2018Put it on your playlist
Oaks and Marsh 9’s combine for an interesting mix of challenges. Enough water and narrow stretches of fairway to ding you for a wayward shot. Fairways are typical Florida tight lies with little grass that tests approach and chips/pitches. Rough is non-existent. Use a Texas wedge or hybrid if possible around the greens. Greens are hard and sandy, but putt true at about a 10. An enjoyable round at 4:25.
Old Corkscrew Golf Club
Played On 11/11/2017Bring your "A" game
As usual this 138 sloped layout gives even better golfers all they can handle. Add some wind and better bring an extra sleeve. Greens are undulating and quick with strategically placed bunkers. Nicklaus said he designs courses to reward good shots and hammer you for bad shots. Drop that hammer on average shots as well at O.C. Most holes require you to be fairway off the tee and below the hole on approach. Any deviation can put you in the, "Oh, no" category. But it IS fun to play, my fave in Ft. Myers area.
Fox Hollow Golf Club
Played On 07/26/2017Great value for the money
Fox Hollow is a fairly easy play with some interesting holes and no "tricky" holes to speak of. You can let the big dog eat enough times, but many greens are guarded with bunkers that warrant accurate approach shots. Most greens have enough undulation to force an accurate read - no mini golf here.
One disappointment was the condition of the cupholes, the edges of which were ragged on several.
Nice pace of play and course condition, although not much sand in the bunkers.
Magnolia Landing Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/07/2017Always a pleasure
A windy day made shot selection and course management crucial. Plenty of water comes into play here and the wind made some shots intimidating - - but that's golf!
Lack of rain made hard and dry conditions through the green. No rough to speak of. Greens were VERY hard so approach shots had to be well thought out. Stimp = 10 or so.
This is a go-to course, especially now that the "in" season has ended. Staff is aces. Do it!
Thank you for reviewing the course. Let us first start by apologizing for the poor experience you had during your visit. The current condition is by no means the standard we strive to achieve and are working diligently to improve the course. Thank you for playing and we hope to see you again soon.
