Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 06/09/2023Still One of the Best inthe Area
Despite the recent dry period and the effects it has had on courses in this area, this is the best one that I have played this week. The greens are recovering nicely from aeration - other courses are way behind in this respect,- and they have a true roll on them, not overly quickl but a nice pace.
This course provides you with a good test of golf, and it is great to play on a course used by top professionals in the world!
The pace of play was the best of my week, and I am never disappointed here, even if the conditions are not as perfect as in December or January.
I shall definitely put this course on top of my list when I next return

Played On 12/27/2021Disappointing Experience
I was really looking forward to playing this course, my first course to play after covid-enforced absence. The course layout is very good, but the general condition of the course was poor, especially the state of the greens.
The most frustrating part of the day was the pace of play: it took two and three-quarter hours to play nine holes which is unacceptable. I would ask for volunteer marshals to monitor the pace of play so that even if you tee off at 1pm, you still complete 18 holes before nightfall.
I paid the same amount to play at Orange County National as I did here, and the experience was virtually the complete opposite, amongst which was teeing off an hour later but still playing more holes. The course at OCN was as good as Falcon’s Fire was poor.
I am sorry to write this review but I have to be honest, and I trust that this will help to smarten things up for when I return next year.

Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 01/02/2019Great Course in Winter
For winter golf, this course was the best we played in the nine days here. The greens were true and easy-paced, and the the course was playing its full distance off the green tees. Thankfully the pace of play was much better than last time, but you should still allow yourself more than four hours for a four-ball, especially if you are behind a group who thought they were good enough to play off the black tees. My only issue was with th availability of carts before the start of the round, as we were kept waiting until the very last m8 ute for some to arrive, but overall I would rate this course highly. Please though do not price it any higher, otherwise it will lose its value as a course to play.
Winter Golf in Florida is the best! We're happy to hear you enjoyed playing Panther Lake. See you soon!
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 12/30/2017Great Course Spoilt By Snail Pace of Round
This was the second time I played this course, and I was really looking forward to the experience. The set-up of the course was excellent, and the staff were very pleasant before I set off. However we were advised that the tee-off times were running a little late, which sadly only was the forerunner to a turgid round of golf. Four hours fifty minutes for a four-ball was dreadful, although our four-ball did ask for marshals to give the ‘hurry up’ to the players ahead. Consequently although setting off at 1pm, we finished our round in the semi-dark, and there was no sense that the players ahead were aware of the need to speed up. We love the course, but felt that the afternoon and our enjoyment was hampered by the slow play. Consequently we had no time to enjoy the after game refreshments in the clubhouse, as we were around an hour behind time.

Played On 10/24/2013A good test of golf
This was the second time we played this course this year, and, although the greens were not quite as pristine as they were in May, this is still an interesting challenge for folders. The tenth hole especially requires extreme accuracy and precision - it is almost worth playing the course just to master this one hole - and the 18th also deserves mention as well. Some of the links between the holes are quite long, but nothing unexpected, and I would happily visit it again at the right price.

Played On 5/29/2013This has work being done on it
I'd love to give this course the 'thumbs up', since the clubhouse, staff and course layout are fine, but the course itself is perhaps the poorest I have played in terms of condition. A $10 reduction in the cost of the round could not make up for the disappointment in the state of the greens - it looks as if they have suffered from disease - and they are a complete lottery. The first nine holes have a lot of work being done to them in terms of bunkers and shaping, which spoil the experience, and one or two bunkers on the second nine show the effect of heavy rain. This course could be a fantastic place to play in the future, and, if you can accept the faults, you can still have a good time, BUT ...........
Royal St. Cloud Golf Links - Red/White Course
Played On 5/27/2013It is well worth making the trip to play this course for the value it offers.
Overall this club is a good place to spend four hours or so. We played a three- ball, which took us 3.5 hours, and there were plenty of challenges, especially on a windy day. The 'red' nine opened up against the wind and proved strong holes from the back tees, after which the 'white' brought some relief with two generous par fives at the beginning and end of the 'nine'. My only complaint would be that the service in the bar was rather slow for food, but hopefully this wasa just a bad day. Overall it is well worth making the trip, given the value offered. There are better courses around, but not at the price offered at RSC.
For $25 early morning, this was a steal!
This was the seventh course my group played at, and in many ways it was the best. Despite the occasional soggy fairway, this proved a great last minute find. The greens were the slickest and smoothest we experienced, despite the Americans' dislike for repairing pitch marks. The holes were a good test of accurate golf, with water used to gobble up errant shots to the green. The houses around the course tended to make the hole layouts blur into one, but I would recommend anyone, who wants good value, to make the trip out to the course.
