Played this course on a weekend getaway before school started with my son. The greens must had recently been punched and were still growing back in, this cost Us a few strokes on the greens but did not stop us from enjoying this lovely course. Course layout was superb and the fairways were immaculate. Once the greens grow back in to mint condition this course will be awesome! Was not too long from the tips and was challenging and many great risk/reward holes. Love the scenery of the holes around the marsh and everything about this course. I will definitely come back and play it again when I visit Saint Simons Island.

Hard to beat this course. Great layout, great greens and lots of fun! This is a must play if you are in the Orlando area.

This is one of the courses I play at least 3-4 times per month. The greens are always in good shape, and roll true and fast. Many of the greens are tiered and require precise iron play to be on the right level. I love the variety of shots that this course allows you to be able to play. (Though on most of the shorter par 4's you can drive and pitch instead of laying back if you choose.) Nice doglegs on a few holes and is challenging no matter what tee box you use. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone within an hour drive of Athens, GA. The only downside is sometimes during the week they do not employ a starter and play can get backed up and take a little long. I have made it around this course in anywhere between 2 hours and 5 hours, depending on the days business.(This is the only reason I can't rate it 5 stars.) I would still recommend you come play it and see what its about!! Food wise I always eat the chicken salad sandwich they have but make sure to bring cash for food. As they do not have a credit card reader for food, but have to walk it over to the check in counter, which is a minor inconvenience.

I have played this course numerous times, it is a good course to take your kids to go play, as the Junior rate was $10 for 18 holes. ( My son is 7 years old) Few easy holes, a few not so easy holes, good course to work on shots. 1st hole is all down hill and drive able for the better players, lots of Elevation changes are what make this course challenging. On the 7th hole make sure to just punch one down the hill with a long iron and let it roll to the bottom of the hill, if not be prepared to lose or have to punch out.

Starts you off with the hardest hole on the course, a downhill slight dogleg right shot with a pond at the bottom of the hill and trees to the left to swallow anything that doesn't turn right. Second shot is uphill (at least 1 extra club) to a smallish green. Good Luck! Rest of the course is treelined, so the challenge is to keep your ball in play. Great course to work on shots for the Advanced player as Driver is only needed on the Par 5's and about 2 par 4's. Greens are in excellent shape for a Government run course, just great having fun with your friends and playing golf! A must play if you ever get the chance!

Fun course to play!! Has 3 drivable par 4's but only one reachable par 5. Remember to putt a little harder as the greens are receptive but slow. Food is top notch, as there is usually a friendly lady grilling hamburgers and hot dogs!! Must play if you are in the area, especially if you are looking for a $20-$30 tee time. Only cost $28 for a Sunday afternoon tee time!!

Tough course, must keep your ball in play or be prepared to have a few extra sleeves handy!! Mountain course with lots of elevation changes and tough holes. Favorite hole is the par 3 15th hole, it has a 200+ ft drop from tee box to green!! If you are around Helen make sure to bring your clubs and play a round!! Great and accommodating staff to help you out with any problems you may have, would rate 10 stars on customer service if GolfNow would let me!! Make sure to plan at least 30 mins for a lunch break, sandwiches are freshly made to order, and has a full bar if that is your pleasure!!

This course is pretty easy, as long as you keep it between the tree lines. Easily reachable par 5's... except for the 600 yard 15th hole. Many drivable par 4's to help make scoring easier. Overall, pretty good course for a beginning golfer, or if you need a boost in confidence as an experienced golfer!!

Course is nice and in good shape except for the greens. The grass was taller on the greens then on some areas of the fairways. Please roll the greens Chimneys!! I would recommend waiting a few weeks before visiting there.

Love this course!! Great sight lines, great greens!! Greens are in great shape and roll true everytime!! A must play for golfers of all skill levels. Challenging but fair. If you need lessons go see John at their new training facility.

This course is the home course for perennial SEC champion UGA golfers. Great greens and a great challening course. Go after 3pm and you get the twilight rate. Otherwise with all the other courses around your money goes further at them. Many elevation changes aound the course make sure to club up!! My two favorite holes are the par 5 12th hole and par 3 13th. A must play course to keep challenging your game.

Not at all impressed with the course at all. Hopefully it was due to being early in the season. Greens would not hold shots at all, even short chips would not stay on. Redeeming point was the scenery... Hole 17 is staring straight into the Atlantic Ocean. Also beware of the wildlife.... It can bite!!! (gators)
