About

I was introduced to the game of golf by my dad when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I played in High School but quit playing for a while after I joined the Army. Within the past two years I have really gotten back into the game and play just about every weekend.

Gear: Taylormade R1 Driver, Taylormade Rocketbladz Tour Irons, Cleveland wedges, old school Ping putter. Ball of choice is Nike Mojo.

Second time was better

The first time I played this course it was in pretty bad shape and I gave it a pretty poor review. I decided to try playing here again and had a much better experience the second time around. The fairways were in much better shape than the last time I played. There are still a few areas of the fairways that could use some TLC, but overall they're in good shape. The greens look good and are in pretty good shape as well. There were a few time where my ball would jump from left to right because of the bumps in the greens, but for the most part they roll true. The course is pretty wide open and allows for some mistakes if you don't hit a perfect shot. Overall I enjoyed playing here and will play here again. I don't think it will be my go-to course for the Burleson area, but it is a good option if I want to play close to home.

Second time was better

So I initially thought this course was in bad shape and not worth the money. Afterr playing it for a second time ive changed my opinion. This time the course was in much better shape. The fairways still leave a little to be desired in some spots but not bad. The greens were in pretty good shape but arent anywhere near perfect. My ball often jumped left to right while rolling on the green. The sand traps are more like sand pits with no bottom, hard to hit out of some. Overall the course is good. I will play again sometime, but wont be my go-to course for Burleson area. Carts have GPS which is cool.

Great for beginners

This is a great course for what it is. It would be a great course for beginners to learn how to play golf. The course is pretty much wide open in most areas. It is a par 71 and plays very short on most par 4's. There are no bunkers, but there are few water hazards. I was able to book a tee time on golf now.com on a Saturday morning for $27 and this included is a cart. friendly staff and a relaxed atmosphere. Go check it out: you won't be disappointed

Private Course but you can find deals online to play

This is one of the better courses that I have played in the DFW area. We played the Pecan course (two 18 hole courses, Pecan and Oaks) and the fairways were nice and full and the rough was actually cut rough. The greens had just been sanded when I played but I imagine on a normal day that they roll pretty good. Overall the course was great and I would recommend that anyone play here if they get the opportunity. The guy that checked me in at the pro shop wasn't very friendly but I was able to overlook that. After we got done playing we ate lunch at the restaurant, I ordered the cheeseburger and it was very good.

Great Course, Go Play

This was my first time playing this course. I thought it was awesome, the greens were very nice on every hole. It was a great value as well. Paid $32 on a Friday and it was worth every penny. The fairways are in great shape. I will definitely be back to play here again.

Decent Course

This is a nice course, but nothing outstanding. One thing I found a little disappointing was the fact that I paid $20 to walk, and that was after a military discount and on a Tuesday. They do a good job of keeping the course well maintained. The greens were in good shape and the fairways as well. The sand bunkers left something to be desired. They are very difficult to hit out of, sand was very hard. I will play this course again, but probably won't be my go-to course.

Don't waste your money

I don't understand why this course has some of the most expensive rates on golfnow. I was very disappointed with this course. A lot of the fairways had hazards because of some maintenance that was being done on the course (digging giant holes/muddy spots). This place is expensive for no reason, go play somewhere else.

Probably the most challenging of the nine holes on Fort Hood.

The Courses of Clear Creek are wonderful. I thoroughly enjoy playing any of the nine hole courses on post and would recommend them to anyone. Armadillo Hills is probably the most challenging of the nine holes. The number one tee is a short par 4 that you can reach the green in one if you hit your drive right. Number 3 is a challenging par 5 with water in the middle that requires laying up or hitting a perfect drive. Number 6 is another long par 5 with a split fairway. Number 9 is a par 4 that requires laying up and hitting a long iron to the green. The staff at this course are very friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The course is well maintained with almost perfect greens on every hole. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a nice course to play for a decent price.

A fairly easy nine holes with unlimited fun.

The Courses of Clear Creek are wonderful. I thoroughly enjoy playing any of the nine hole courses on post and would recommend them to anyone. Panther Claw is probably the easiest of the nine holes. Number 8 is a short par 4 that you can drive the green in one if you hit a well aimed drive. The other 8 holes are pretty much your basic holes with a few challenges here and there. The staff at this course are very friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The course is well maintained with almost perfect greens on every hole. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a nice course to play for a decent price.

A fun nine holes with beautiful surroundings.

The Courses of Clear Creek are wonderful. I thoroughly enjoy playing any of the nine hole courses on post and would recommend them to anyone. Deer Run is probably the most beautiful of the nine holes. The number one tee is a tricky par 4 with a dogleg to the left that requires laying up or a well aimed drive. The staff at this course are very friendly and you can tell they enjoy what they do. The course is well maintained with almost perfect greens on every hole. I recommend this facility to anyone looking for a nice course to play for a decent price.

This course lacks some of the basic upkeep you expect from a golf course.

This is a decent course for a beginner to go and learn to play the game. The fairways are wide open for the most part and you really have to try to lose a golf ball. The greens are pretty shotty. Last time I played here, there were weeds growing up out of the the first two or three greens. The price is right for this course, so I guess you get what you pay for. Overall it's a fun course to play and it's never too packed.

Stonetree Golf Club

Probably the nicest course in Killeen, TX.

Stonetree is a nice course to play at. I've played here several times now and each time really enjoyed being on the course. The course is somewhat challenging and has some decent views. The pace of play can be pretty slow on the weekends but nothing too terrible that I would avoid playing here. They don't offer military discounts which is disappointing especially since they're located right in the heart of a military town and they maintain their business because of the Soldiers that pay to play here. I can come here and pay $31 for a weekend rate or I can drive a little further to Sun City and pay $30 with a military discount, get a free bucket of range balls, and the courses in Sun City are much nicer. But if you're looking to stay close to town, this is probably your best option, next to playing on Fort Hood. The courses on Fort Hood are comparable to Stonetree and you'll end up paying less for your green fees.
