Cottonwood Golf Club - Ivanhoe Course
Played On 12/24/2020Cottonwood Golf Club - Ivanhoe Course
Played On 11/21/2020Anytime after 12:45 should be twilight
Good course. Decent shape, but the price should be lower. No chance of finishing 18 at 1:30. Especially without a Marshall on the course to make sure people are playing at correct pace.
Thank you for playing Cottonwood. Teeing off at 1:30 pm is our twilight rate which does not guarantee 18 holes. We hope you will come earlier in the day to play a full 18!

Cottonwood Golf Club - Ivanhoe Course
Played On 08/16/2020Love this course, pace could use improvement
The sand is actually playable unlike many local courses during COVID. Nice greens, fairways, and tee boxes. The rough is penalizing. The only knock on this course is the lack of a marshal to keep people at a decent pace. 2.5 hours per nine is frustrating to me. Mostly due to players not playing ready golf or not understanding the concept of ready golf. Maybe it’s a weekend thing?
Thank you for leaving a 4-star review! We appreciate you coming out to play Cottonwood! We will work on this with our team to try and improve our speed of play. Hope to see you out here again soon!

Cottonwood Golf Club - Ivanhoe Course
Played On 05/27/2020Challenging course if you are not hitting the fairways.
Nice fairways, greens are rolling probably 9.5 to 10. Course is in good shape, sand is covid sand. Pace of play was 5 hours. Tried to get food at the halfway point. They had nothing ready to make the turn. Finished back nine hangry. Carts are optional for 10 bucks only 2 per 4 some. Enjoyed the course.

Played On 05/01/2020They need to mow
Rough was more than ankle deep. Bunkers on some holes are unplayable Due to flood damage. Frustrating to hit golf shots close to the fairway or just over the green and never find the ball. They weren’t quite ready to reopen. Hope they get their grounds team back out there soon to handle the grounds. Greens were in good shape but slow rolling. Fairways and tee boxes were also in need of a fresh mow. Was still great to finally play again. I’ll give them a pass this time.

Carlton Oaks Lodge & Country Club
Played On 01/24/2020good course but can be challenging
Greens were slow and challenging today. They play slower in the morning.
The fairways are a little on the firm and the grass is still not green. A few more months and I’m sure it will be looking good.
Tee boxes were a little furry. They could use a mow, but they were in good shape.

Twin Oaks Golf Course
Played On 01/19/2020Nice course- but leave it to GolfNow to mess up the tee times
First time playing here in a very long time. I actually didn’t remember the course at all.
Fairways, greens, tee boxes were in very good shape. Bunkers were decent.
Was rolling probably an 11 when we played. Staff was very very accommodating.
Course was overbooked at 11:45 tee time and there was a tournament going on in the morning that was just finishing. The pro shop comped us a free drink and range balls due to the 30 minute late start. We actually finished right at dusk.
Nice job twin oaks. Fail on GolfNow for continued over booking of courses. This is the second time this has happened in one month at a different golf course.
Hidden Valley Golf Club
Played On 09/01/2019Challenging course
Excellent layout. Definitely not a beginners course. Decent sand. Very green and nice soft greens.
It was probably 96 degrees outside but the course is in the hills so it was pretty windy. Gorgeous layout. The wind made for some tough shots where an optimal drive would probably need to be aimed out of bounds.
The only things lacking were food, and beverage availability. The carts were also a little extra controlling. They would slow you down to 2mph in hilly areas which was a bit annoying. Would definitely play again. Don’t show up with out an extra sleeve of balls. Lol
North at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 08/03/2019Surprisingly good shape
Usually this time of year the course’s fairways and greens are a bit dry. They fairways were in great shape. I was very surprised. This course gets a ton of play. So the greens were a little beat up. Seemed like quite a few people were not fixing their divots. I kept finding my putt in line with someone’s green tantrum marks. Looked like someone kept blading their putter into the green. Sand was in great shape. Wish most courses in San Diego had Sand this nice. Will be back again. We saw a coyote on 8.
San Vicente Golf Resort
Played On 07/12/2019Getting warmer
Great public course, lots of wildlife. Fun design. Greens are about a 10 on the stimp. Bunkers are decent not hard but not soft. This time of the year it’s getting hot so pack extra water and sunscreen. Personally enjoy this courses layout. Fairways and tee boxes are in good shape. They do water the greens during the day so beware to feel the greens for moisture before you putt. They slow down. Only knocks on the course are a sad driving range and the ball washers are always dry.
Thank you for visiting us at San Vicente Golf Resort. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon.
Arrowood Golf Course
Played On 06/09/2019North at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 11/11/2018Greens were the best I’ve seen there.
Really enjoy the layout of the course, I have played it countless times. The bunkers and greens were in excellent shape. Fastest I’ve seen the greens there ever. They definitely have marks as the course sees quite a few golfers. Play was a little slow. 2.5 hours for the front 9. Didn’t get to finish since we teed off at 2pm because of DST.

Course was in great shape. Decent greens , fairways. Tee boxes could use some love but pace of play was great. Finished twilight at 4 hours. Staff was super friendly.
North at Admiral Baker Golf Course
Played On 10/07/2018Great layout - quick play on NFL Sunday
Played this course numerous times over the years. Greens could use a little help but the rest of the course is in decent shape. Played in the afternoon and finished under 4.5 hours.
Carlton Oaks Lodge & Country Club
Played On 12/29/2017Fair course when the rates are low
Challenging course layout. Greens were average at best probably rolls a 9 on the stimp meter. Would not recommend this course to a beginner golfer. Sand traps everywhere, could use some cleanup on the sand. Only paid 19$ for a cart at twilight which is decent. Took 3 hours for the front 9, there was no Marshall.
Course was in embarrassing shape
The greens were punched- no warning on the website.
The fairways were not mowed at all.
An 18 hole scramble was set at 30 minutes prior to our time without our knowledge. I usually like this course but it was in poor shape and the Marshalls were not enforcing the playing speed of the course.
The Vineyard at Escondido
Played On 02/24/2017Easy muni course.. firm greens
I like the layout though it's fairly short 6000 yards from the white, 6500 from the blues. The greens are very firm. Many of my high wedge shots bounced off the green and didn't leave much of a repairable divet. Should of played a higher spin ball. Sand was in good shape.
We played behind a twosome that was very slow on the front 9. We had 2 beginners in our group ( good course for beginners by the way), the group in front of us picked up the pace and made us look like we were playing slow. The ambassadors were on us telling us to speed up even though we finished at 4 hours 28 minutes. Slightly annoying but the experience was fine for the price. Greens could be better but what do you expect from a mini course.
Thank you for the 4-star review!
