Wow!
Playing at the Wynn Golf Club was one of my favorite golf experiences. From the moment you arrive and pay, to the time you leave, the service you receive is absolutely second to none. They provide you a caddy, who will take you to the driving range, putting green, and even to a practice par 3 before your round, if you want. The locker room was really nice, and they even clean your shoes for you while you're playing, which is definitely a nice touch. They provide you with any Gatorade or drinks that you may need, and it was much appreciated during the middle of the summer in Vegas.
The course was in phenomenal shape for being the middle of the summer. They do a great job of making you feel like you aren't in the middle of the Las Vegas Strip. There a lot of fun, challenging holes that make you think about the different types of shots you need to hit. My caddie, whose name I forgot unfortunately, was really great. He got my clubs for me, cleaned the ball, showed me where to hit my putts and other shots, and was just an overall nice guy. He saved me several strokes on the green, as he knew all the breaks. This course is long, with several par 4's over 400 yards, so don't think you can play from the back tees if you're just an average golfer. Take the caddie's advice before the round, and just be honest about your skill level.
After the round, they give you a really nice bag tag with your name engraved on it. Something like that alone in the pro shop would be $50-$75, but you can't get it unless you play the course. Overall, while $300 may seem like a lot for a round of golf, I thought it was worth every penny based on the condition of the course, the friendliness of the staff, and the top notch service provided. I will most definitely be back in the future.
Raptor at Grayhawk Golf Club
Played On 07/17/2016Tough Course
Well, this course really ate my lunch the day I played it. I consider myself to be a pretty decent golfer, but I probably should've played from the set of tees in front of the greens. This course was really long, and you can't be wayward with your tee shots. The greens were sandy, and played fairly slow. My guess is that they had been punched about a month before I played there. Overall, the practice facility and clubhouse were nice. I didn't eat there, but the restaurant/bar area looked nice. I feel like I got fairly good value for my money, as I paid $60 to play here at 9:00 a.m. Keep in mind that it's in the middle of the summer in Arizona.
I'm sure the course is nicer during the winter months, but I'm not sure I would be rushing back to play here. Mainly because there are so many other options nearby. Like I said, I'd like to play it during peak season just to have a good comparison.
Eagle Mountain Golf Club
Played On 07/15/2016Great First Experience
This was my first time playing Eagle Mountain, and since I was playing it in the middle of the summer heat, I wasn't sure what to expect. Despite some work being in progress on a few of the fairways, the course was in really good shape for this time of year. There are many holes with great views, and the fairways can be pretty forgiving. I played at around 7:00 a.m., and was easily finished in 4 hours. The practice range and greens were all great, and the employees made it very easy to find. For the rate I paid ($39), I thought this was an extremely good value. The service was top notch, and the views are tough to beat. I will definitely be returning to Eagle Mountain in the future. I would love to play it during the peak season, as I'm sure it's in magnificent shape.
