The Golf Club Star Ranch
Played On 08/12/2020Love Star Ranch - Greens punched and sanded recently
Nice people in a nice setting. 2 things to know. 1) absolutely no coolers (even with water and food) allowed and you have to carry your bags to the cart area (ie no carts in the parking lot) and 2) the greens look to have been punched and sanded on Monday 8/10. We were not made aware of that and were a little surprised when we got there. Other than those issues, Star Ranch has always been a great place to play.
Hilton Head National Golf Club
Played On 07/11/2019Wow...Very Impressed
Had the opportunity to play Hilton Head National and have nothing but praise for the people and course! We were a twosome and they paired us with a single who had also never played the course. Worked out just fine! Everything was in great shape, especially the fairways and greens. Enjoy the course and natural beauty around it!
Santee National Golf Club
Played On 07/10/2019Fun course
First time in the area. I loved the layout. I guess they've had a lot of rain lately as a lot of the bunkers were full of water and all needed attention. The fairways are impeccable. Greens are still healing from aeration. Staff was super friendly. Had a blast and recommend...
Hello. We are beyond happy to hear you enjoyed a great day at our course. Positive experiences make lifelong golfers. We look forward to many good times ahead with you. We will pass on your kind words to those responsible so they can continue to help others enjoy great experiences @SanteeNational.

Cowan Creek Golf Course
Played On 04/11/2019Quality, Challenging Track
Cowan Creek is one of my favorite central Texas courses. I don't get to play there too often because of the horrible Austin area traffic. The fairways were in excellent condition as expected, but unexpectedly the greens were less than desirable. They have two issues right now. 1) they must be in some sort of transition from winter rye to summer bermuda and a LOT of the bermuda hasn't come in yet so you get a lot of bare spots. 2) they have an extreme amount of little crab grass growths that completely affected almost every putt from our foursome. I hope the greenskeepers have a plan to take care of those boogers. As long as you get there early, the staff is more than pleasant and don't forget to bring your own refreshments! Thanks for having us Cowan Creek!
Thanks for the 4-stars and taking the time to share your feedback with us. We truly appreciate your patience & understanding regarding a few of our greens, as this time of year does create some struggle with Poa Annua and the recent weather has been the perfect storm for Pythium root rot. Our superintendent is aware and working diligently on treatment for both, however, Poa Annua is a cool season grass so conditions will be improving with the warmer temps ahead! We hope you still enjoyed the day with us at Cowan Creek Golf Club and look forward to having you back again soon. #CowanCreekGC
Roy Kizer Golf Course
Played On 06/26/2018Recent Aerification
Aerified and sanded the greens on Monday 6/25/18. Course is in pretty good shape, but GolfNow did not have an aerification notice. Other than that, no complaints. Greens are extremely slow (long grass + sand)
Lighthouse Country Club
Played On 04/12/2018Great Owner & Staff
We had a tee time that in all honesty my group and I had completely screwed up through GolfNow. When we got to the pro shop the assistant was having quite a difficult time taking care of the situation. The owner of the club happened to be there and he jumped right in and took over the process and took care of us without issue. It was great to see true customer service at work! Love the course and thank you for wanting our business. It's nice to see in today's world.
Lakewood National Golf Club - Commander Course
Played On 01/25/2018My favorite area course!
If you want a challenging and completely fun golf course, play Lakewood National. It's not your typical Florida target course with water bordering both sides of a hole. It can play as LONG as you'd like, but I suggest packing your ego away and playing a little closer than you might think. The greens are hard and fast and you'll either get very mad or laugh hysterically at some of the putts if you aren't on the right part of the green. If you want to raise your handicap, come play Lakewood National. I love it and would play there all the time if I lived in the area. It's a must if for no other reason to see a great Arnold Palmer design.
Canyon Springs Golf Club
Played On 08/14/2017What a Gem!
Played Canyon Springs for the first time ever in San Antonio's mid-August heat (not one of my smartest moves), but could not believe what great shape the entire course including the fairways and greens were in. This course is daunting from the Tee boxes but tends to open up in the fairways. Don't get fooled by the short distances on the first 3 holes, it's a trick to get you to play a set of boxes that are a little too hard for most golfers! We play all over central/south Texas and this is one of my immediate favorites, especially for the fantastic shape it's in. I'll be back!
Falconhead Golf Club
Played On 03/23/2015Love this track....
Falconhead is one of the premier courses in central Texas. It is quite difficult with side hill lies, elevation changes, and undulating greens. If you are willing to score a little higher but enjoy a great course then Falconhead is right for you.
Hidden Falls Golf Club
Played On 07/29/2014Good Shape - course knowledge would help
The course is in very good shape and a pretty fun course. As someone that hasn't played there in years, a little course knowledge would help. There are quite a few layup or blind shots that can bite you if you don't know what to do or where to hit it, but overall the course played nicely. We will be back!
Pine Forest Golf Club
Played On 7/18/2013Good shape!
The course is in very good shape for mid-summer in Texas.
Only negatives I saw were unlevel tee-boxes, St. Augustine (or something like it shows up in some of the fairways which is pretty darn tough to hit out of), and a few bare spots in some fairways. The greens are in great shape and all the positives of this course greatly outweigh those few negatives I mentioned. It's worth playing!
Blue Lake Golf Club
Played On 7/11/2013Not as easy as you think...
With very tiny greens and 3 par 3's at 185 yards plus it's a challenging short course. The good news it's hard to lose a ball, the bad news is you might have a 130 yard shot on a side hill lie to a penny size green. Not to be taken for granted. Enjoyed a bunch with very fast pace of play and friendly staff.
D, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing @HiltonHeadNational.
