Forest Lake Golf Club of Ocoee
Played On 10/10/2020Fun course with no houses and little water
This is a nice fun course in Central Florida right off the 429. Course conditions are pretty good, but there are some holes where the fairways and some of the rough are mushy and wet. All the courses in Central Florida right now are wet because it has been raining so much, so this is not a knock on the course. Greens were pretty good as were the fairways. Tee boxes can use some TLC for sure.
No houses on the course that you can hit and it is a fairly wide open course. Saw the cart girl seveveral times in our round and they have bathrooms on the course, but they are closed for "Covid reasons". I think the price was little more expensive than other area courses, but still a great time and I would play again!
Zellwood Station & Country Club
Played On 08/22/2020Fun variety of holes
This is a fun course that everyone in Central Florida should try at least once. It has a good variety of different holes that make for an interesting round. There are multiple ways to play a few of the holes so it is fun every time. Bathrooms on the course, but no cart girl. Tee boxes were pretty chewed up in some areas, but the fairways were nice and the greens were mostly nice. Some of the greens were fantastic while others looked like they were getting TLC. I will come back here again!
The Club at Venetian Bay
Played On 07/24/2020Fun course 1 hour from Orlando
This is a beautiful course just outside of Orlando. If you are willing to drive a little bit (40 minutes from Sanford/Lake Mary) this is a must place course. It had rained a lot the past few days including the night prior so the course was wet. Cart path/rough only which made sense with how much water came down. There were parts that were sloshy, but no fault from the golf course. All greens and tee boxes were great and not wet at all. Greens were slower than I am used to, but looked well cared for. Staff was very friendly and I saw the cart girl several times throughout my round. It wasn't too busy and they did have a starter that let me go off early which was nice. Bathrooms on the course as well. Nothing to really complain about as I will be back to play again!
Hi jwalla129. We appreciate you leaving a review and rating us. We will inform the entire team, so they know their hard work is paying off. We look forward to having you back at The Club at Venetian Bay!
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 06/13/2020Tough, but beautiful course
This was my first time playing here and it will not be the last. I played terribly!, but I had a great time still! The course can be tough-- The rough is thick and the fairways are thicker than normal so you do not get a good long roll on your drives or other shots. The greens are large and undulated and there is water on almost every hole. We saw lots of wildlife including baby coyotes, otters, hawks, and other water birds.
Course conditions were above average. Several tee boxes need heavy work, but the greens and fairways were really well taken care of. There are several air conditioned bathrooms on the course which was welcomed in the 95 degree heat! Staff was extremely friendly and the pro shop and restaurant are full service and fully stocked.

Rio Pinar Golf
Played On 05/02/2020Nice older course in Orlando
This was my first time here and I enjoyed myself and would back. I had not heard about the squirrels before playing here and they were fun to see! They are not scared of people at all and seemed to be well fed by the golfers so bring some extra nuts if that is your thing. They are HUGE squirrels that are not the normal kind you see on the other area courses. I only had a few complaints-- Most of the tee boxes were chewed up and uneven. Those need to be worked on. Also some of the greens were patchy and not good. There were several holes that the greens were nice, but some that need work. The fairways and everything else was great. There is not too much water in play and there is a nice variety of layouts for the holes. The bathrooms are being built ground up so there were not open yet, but they had portapotties instead. I think the $38 was a little expensive for what I could get at other courses, but I had a great time still. Men's locker room is nice with the memorabilia and cool portraits of PGA legends.
Victoria Hills Golf Club
Played On 04/11/2020Lots of sand but fun course!
Make sure you are good with your and wedge because this course is littered with bunkers and sand traps all throughout. Not too much water to worry about but you will be hitting out of the sand. The course is in pretty good shape and honestly I expecting worse from the reviews below, but I am not sure what they were complaining about. The greens were really nice but super super slow! Fairways were nice as well. The tee boxes could use some TLC but otherwise pretty good conditions. There are bathrooms on each 9. I'd come back and play here.
Casselberry Golf Club
Played On 03/19/2020Fun, tough course -- great greens!
Casselberry is a tough course because of how tight it is. It is not a long course so this is a great time to practice your irons, but miss left or right and you are out of bounds very easily. The greens are very good as to compared to years past. The course is in great shape with the tee boxes well groomed. The City put money into the course to improve the look a few years ago and it still shows. If you haven't played here in a while, come take a look.
The only negative are that there are 2 port-a-potties as their restroom on the course. It would be nice to have a regular bathroom like almost every other course in the area has, but that is the only complaint.
Winter Park Golf Course
Played On 02/19/2020Wonderful 9 hole course in beautiful, Winter Park
This is a great and fun 9 hole course situated right in historic and beautiful Winter Park. Multi-million dollar homes line many of the holes and streets do come very close to some of the fairways. Course conditions are fantastic. Tee boxes were a little beat up, but they were still pretty good. Greens are great, but you need to hit your approach shot close as these are big, two tiered greens and you don't want to struggle putting uphill or downhill all day. Pace of play was fairly good since everyone was walking-- I played with another golfer and we finished in a little under 2 hours. If you haven't tried here, please come out. This might be too tough of a layout due to the tightness of the course and street/houses nearby for a beginner.
Ventura Country Club
Played On 12/14/2019Beautiful hidden gem in Orlando
This was my first time playing here and will not be my last! I really enjoyed everything about Ventura. The clubhouse area was really nice and all staff encountered were friendly. We played about 30 minutes after a big rainy storm came in so we were only allowed cart path only for the first 9. With how much rain, it was very impressive how quickly the course dried out. Of course there were several areas were there was mushy wetness, but that is expected with the rain. Fun layout with water in play on a few holes but if you play them correctly, they do not come into play. Saw the car girl several times throughout our round and there are bathrooms on each nine.
I will be back!
Deltona Club
Played On 11/02/2019Fun Florida course outside of Orlando
This is a good course if you have never played here before. I am not sure what many of the complaints from some of the reviews below me are, but I guess they are just comparing this course to Disney or the other resort courses near the convention center. This is a great course but is by no means a 5 star experience and that is not a knock on Deltona Club. I had a great time playing and would come back again. The staff was great and very friendly. The pro shop is small and I did not see a cart girl on the course. There is no water in play at all on the course which was great, but there are plenty of bunkers! The greens were very well maintained. Fairways were average and the tee boxes were pretty good. The price was a little expensive compared to some of the ones near by so that was my only negative. I did not see any bathrooms on the course so either there are none, or I just missed seeing it.
Eagle Dunes Golf Club
Played On 09/28/2019Fun course in Sorrento!
I had a good time playing here and I would come back! Greens were beautiful looking and were some of the fastest I have played on. The greens are also large and several have 2 tiers. Fairways and tee boxes were also maintained. No too much water to worry about, but the rough was thick so easy to lose a ball. All of the staff was friendly and welcoming. They have a ranger who keeps up with the pace of play which was nice to see. We saw the beverage cart several times. There is a port a potty on each 9-- For how nice the course and surrounding area is, it is surprising they do not have a permanent bathroom.
Hi! We appreciate you taking the time to review the course and rate us. Thank you for the 4 stars and also for providing us with your feedback! We aim for a 5-star experience, so we always appreciate it! Thank you for playing Eagle Dunes Golf Club. We hope to see you again soon!
The Reserve at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 09/21/2019Good course, good condition
The Reserve at Orange Lake is a fun golf course to play at. Course conditions were pretty good and I would come back to play. Tee boxes and the fairways were in great condition. The greens were in good condition, but slightly bumpy. We saw the cart girl several times and the staff that we interacted with was pleasant and helpful. There is a good amount of water throughout the course so make sure you look at your phone's GPS of the course layout. Fun course that wasn't terrible difficult. There was a bathroom on each 9 but I didn't see too many water fill up stations.
Only credit/debit cards accepted so be prepared if you are a cash only person.
Panther Lake at Orange County National
Played On 09/14/2019Panther Lake is a great course at Orange County National!
Panther Lake was a lot of fun. I played Crooked Cat a few weeks ago and these are 2 very different courses. Panther Lake was set up like a normal Florida golf course. There was a decent amount of water/marsh that would come into play versus no water at Crooked Cat. Course conditions were very good though as everything was well taken care of. Tee boxes were good, fairways were great and the greens were good. Greens were a little better conditioned than Crooked Cat!
There are nice bathroom facilities on each 9 and we saw the cart girl 4 times during our round. Orange County National has a fantastic range and practice facility. Big pro shop and nice clubhouse. The golf carts are some of the best I have used. Really comfy seats and a USB plug. They could add a GPS monitor in the future.
I would 100% play this course again, but I think I like Crooked Cat better because it was links style.
Thank you for your 5-star review! We here at Orange County National appreciate our guests taking the time to tell us about their experience! We look forward to seeing you out again very soon!
Crooked Cat at Orange County National
Played On 08/17/2019Great course, great amenities, friendly staff!
Crooked Cat is a must play if you are in the Orlando area. This course is well maintained and just fun to play! There are only about 3 or 4 holes that have water involved, but for the most part this course is water free! As this is a links style course, there are plenty of fairway and greenside bunkers. The course is wide open as well so swing away!
There are nice bathroom facilities on each 9 and we saw the cart girl 4 times during our round. Orange County National has a fantastic range and practice facility. Big pro shop and nice clubhouse.
The greens did look like they had recently been worked on as they were sandy looking. They rolled great and did not affect our play. Everything else is beautiful!
Wekiva Golf Club
Played On 07/27/2019Good, fun course in pretty good condition
Wekiva was a lot of fun. The course is taken care of fairly well and I had no issues. Greens were nice and well taken care of as was the rest of the course. There are a lot of bunkers at Wekiva, but all were well maintained and had been freshly raked. It has been raining fairly decently in Central Florida so there were a few places where it was a little soggy, but overall the course drains very well.
The staff at the front was friendly and joked around with everyone. Did not see any cart service. There is a set of bathrooms on the course as well.
I recommend coming out here if you have never played and if it has been awhile, come back and try it.
Thank you for taking the time to review us, jwalla129. Your feedback is truly valuable, and we look forward to delivering you excellent service again soon. Wekiva Golf Club thanks you!
Mayfair Country Club
Played On 07/14/2019I always enjoy playing at Mayfair! One of the oldest courses in Florida!
I play Mayfair a few times a year and always have a good time. Honestly, the greens are some of the best in town! They really take care of them and you can tell just by driving past the course. The tee boxes can use some TLC, but the fairways and rest of the course is in good condition. By all means, this is not a resort or Disney course, but it is fantastic value and great layout. This is a wide open course so it is great for all levels of golfers. That being said, it can get busy during peak times. There are a few holes that water does come into play. The bathrooms and cart paths can use some upgrades! Not many holes you can take driver out, so this is a great course for iron and wedge work. If you have never tried this course, please come out and try it!
RedTail Golf Club
Played On 09/30/2017Beautifully maintained course!
This course is in great condition! We have received an overabundance of rain the past few weeks so all of Central Florida has flooding and water issues. This course was not spared the rain and was wet and had several places where casual water was in effect. Nothing the course can do about the amount of rain we have had so just something you need to be aware of. Hole 7 was closed due to the rain/water.
Staff was friendly and saw the cart girl several times. Bathrooms are throughout the course and are nice bathrooms but are heavy with mosquitoes. The course conditions however were fantastic all things considered with the water. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all taken care of. Rough was a little thick, but I think that was due to them not being able to mow the course properly with the weather.
Members were a little snarky and hoity toity towards our group. We have a very large group and all were practicing on the range and some of our group hit a few balls on the "Member's Range" before getting chased and rudely yelled at.
Mission Inn Resort & Club - El Campeon Course
Played On 07/28/2017Fantastic, beautiful and hilly course outside of Orlando
This course was in great condition. Greens, fairways, and tee boxes are all very well maintained. I saw several groundskeepers upkeeping the course so you know they take great pride in the conditions of the golf resort. This is worth the 30 minute drive outside of Orlando to play here.
I saw the cart girl plenty of times and there were a few nice bathrooms along the course that had water fountains. I flew through the first 8 holes as a single with nobody in front but then it bottelnecked with a few groups of 4 that slowed us down. \
I would come back to play here as I had a great time.
The Country Club of Mount Dora
Played On 06/17/2017Fun course is great condition.
This course is very well maintained. Greens are in great condition and the fairways and tee boxes are in above average condition. Good amount of water so make sure to hit it well or bring a few balls just in case. Saw the cart girl multiple times and there were a few bathrooms and water refill stations. Only negative was that there was one staff member that was a little rude. Overall, I had a great time playing here and would come back again!
Twin Rivers Golf Club
Played On 06/16/2017Course is in great condition
This course was in really good condition. Tee boxes, fairways, and greens were all fantastic. There were parts throughout the entire course that were a little muddy and sloshy, but that was understandable with the amount of rain that Central Florida has received the past few weeks. Quite a few water holes so make sure to bring a few extra. Good variety of holes.
I did not see any bathrooms on the course other than the clubhouse. Saw the cart girl a few times and staff was friendly.
I would play here again!
