LPGA International - Jones Course
Played On 05/10/2018Best course in the area
Course is in excellent condition right now. Greens have recently been redone on the Jones course and are very firm and rolling true. Fairways and bunkers were very good and consistent throughout the course. The staff here is excellent, always friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.
Spruce Creek Country Club
Played On 04/12/2018Needs work
Course seems to be declining since the last time I played here which is odd considering it is located within an upscale gated community. Pretty obvious the residents of Spruce Creek Fly-In are not supporting their golf course. Pace of play was good because there weren't many golfers on the course. No one handling bags or carts, no starter, no ranger and no beverage cart. Guy in the pro shop was friendly and paired me up with another single then told us to go whenever we wanted. No one waiting. Tees were good from the blues, most of the play here is from the forward tees due to the older clientele. Fairways were average, a little soft on the back nine. The problem here is the greens. Lots of bare spots and infiltration of weeds. Forget about getting a true roll. Bunkers were good with plenty of sand and consistent throughout the course. Overall layout is unremarkable and a little boring. Overall this is a fairly easy course and made for a fun and stress free round. If they can fix the greens I would go back.
Indigo Lakes Golf Club
Played On 02/11/2018Getting Better
The course is making a comeback. Took a lot of damage from hurricane Irma and was in deplorable condition the last time I played here in November. Much better now, still work to do but definitely improving. If you played here in the last few months and were disappointed you should come back. It's worth another look and worth supporting as they continue to bring the course back to it's former condition.

Unfortunately this course has deteriorated significantly over the past year. A real shame because this is an excellent layout, but it is suffering from a lack of upkeep. The course is now only open 5 days a week and is usually wide open with very few players. This lack of cash flow has understandably resulted in cutbacks in course maintenance. I played as a single on a Saturday at 11:00 and practically had the place to myself. Tee boxes were not mown, greens were ragged with a lot of bare spots, and the rough is infested with large fire ant mounds on almost every hole. Hopefully an investment will be made by the current owners to bring this course back up to it's former condition.

Course was in good shape as usual, staff is very friendly and helpful. Pace of play was atrocious. A group on the green, a group waiting in the fairway and a group waiting on the tee on almost every hole. Over 2 1/2 hours to play the front nine. Ridiculous.

Good layout, well bunkered with small greens. Forgiving off the tee but accurate approach shots are required if you want to score well here. This is a Lloyd Clifton design that was once known as the premier course in Daytona in the late 70's and 80's until it fell into disrepair. An infusion of money from new investors approximately 2 years ago is paying off with very good turf conditions and excellent greens. I would recommend this course.
My only complaint is the frequent practice of a group of older regulars who stop for a full lunch at the turn and then flood the 10th tee en masse disrupting the flow of players making the turn and creating slow play on the back nine. Management needs to address this practice.
River Bend Golf Club
Played On 02/03/2015River Bend
Played on a Tuesday afternoon. Course was full, but the starter does a good job getting people off and pace of play was decent considering the crowd.
Course is in very good condition considering the pace of play. Greens were average speed, fairly firm and rolling true. Fairways were firm and allowed for plenty of roll.
South at Daytona Beach Golf & Country Club
Played On 01/20/2015Good for high handicappers.
Played the south course in the afternoon. Starter on duty didn't care much who I was paired with, just sent me to first tee to the try and join a twosome. Pace of play was fairly good considering the high handicappers mostly due to the lack of water and open fairways.
This is a good example if a Donald Ross design with small crowned greens offsetting the open fairways and lack of water hazards. Greens and fairways in good condition despite the heavy play this course gets. A fun afternoon overall.
