The pace of play today was fast

I started my play today with a foursome. After the first hole, I asked them if it was okay if I moved on...because I obviously thought their play was too slow. No fault of theirs as I like playing at a certain pace. There were other singles in front of me and I finished in 2.25 hours. No doubt the fastest round this year. The course condition were dried up a bit at some places, but it was worth the price I payed.

Probably one of the best courses in Northern CA

This is definitely a first-rate golf club...a country club atmosphere at a public course. Course is very interesting & beautiful. Great place to take a client or someone whom you want to impress. Free water bottles throughout course, attendants at driving range & throughout course. Attendants that actually do something about pace-of-play.

Slowest Round I ever played

Had a tee time at around 1pm on a Saturday. We were only able to play 16 holes in 5.5 hours before it got dark. The course did nothing to speed things up...what a joke!

Former Member with a credible review

I'm a former member at HB and have played this course 200+ times over the years. HB recently changed ownership & I've noticed a drop-off in course maintenance since. There are several terrible & poorly kept uneven tee boxes, some greens are very bumpy, several patches of dead spots of fairway (not marked ground under-repair#, and their once-beautiful signature hole #17th hole) is a disgrace [due to a broken water pump my understanding]. I also am not impressed with some of the attendants at the course. Some of the attendants are young & inexperienced who could use a lesson in public relations. I use to think that HB stood out and was one of the pristine courses around the SF Bay Area. I no longer think this & consider it just an average course today. The course is still trying to live off its "hosted the LPGA" reputation of 15 years ago. Hope this message could be a wake-up call for the new owners because there is still time to bring the course back to how it once was.

Despite the negative comments above, I've always loved the course layout which will never change. The course will reward you if you're playing well & bite you if you're not.
