I played here for the first time in years today after seeing all the recent positive reviews. DO NOT play here if it has rained at any point in recent days. Possibly the worst draining course I’ve played in central Florida. Much of the fairways, rough, and green side areas were soaked and muddy. Bunkers seems like they haven’t been tended to in weeks. Greens were mostly fine.

Hadn’t played here in a while due to past negative experiences. Figured I’d give it another shot. Nothings changed. Course isn’t worth more than $25 at most. Patchy tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Terrible conditions around the greens. Extremely muddy and mosquitoes literally everywhere. Every group was getting torn up by them. Go 10 min down the road and play Eagle Creek, a golf course actually worth the price they charge.

Gave Rio one more shot after a horrendous experience a few weeks ago on a weekend where they had no carts and were running 45 min behind. Yesterday, I had a 12:12 tee time. When I arrived they again had no carts available and had four groups backed up on hole one. My 12:12 tee time ended up being 12:45. At 5:15, my group and I, still ON HOLE 16 decided to call it and quit what would’ve ended up being a SIX HOUR ROUND. When I went into the pro shop to complain, the employee admitted they intentionally double and triple book tee times to increase business. When I called today to speak with a manager, Melanie stated GolfNow was the reason for the overbooking and that it doesn’t come through correctly on their system which is completely, 100% false. No compensation was offered, nothing other than lies and fake apologies. I’ll never golf here again, and I recommended anyone reading this books literally anywhere else.

Been playing here for a couple years and never seen it look this bad. The course layout is a ton of fun and greens were phenomenal but tee boxes and fairways were brutal. The first two holes were almost unplayable, and the fact they’re charging $60 for a morning tee time with the course in its current condition is comical. Do yourself a favor and drive 10 minutes down the road to play at Eagle Creek for almost the same pricing and a course in significantly better condition, at least until they improve conditions here.

The reviews on this course make me believe no one that plays here has ever played a quality course before. On a few holes there is just as much dirt/sand as there is grass on tee boxes, fairways and around the green, and the greens are filled with weed patches although they are far from the worst I’ve seen. They also had just redone their sand traps by dumping an outrageous amount of sand into the traps and not doing anything to prep them. Sand is overflowing outside of the trap and your feet sink in as if it was quick sand just by walking normally. For $30 in the middle of the afternoon, there’s many other places I’d rather play.

Golfed here multiple times in the past, course has gone south fast. Sandy tee boxes, weeds and sand covered fairways, greens were in okay shape. Worst part was being run off the cart path twice by the same landscaper on a lawnmower. Not being one of "those people" but having to swerve almost into trees because a landscaper feels like playing chicken with my golf cart is not my idea of a good time. Overall probably won't be back again.

Without a doubt the worst course I've ever seen. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were full of weeds, sand, dirt etc. Sand traps had almost as much grass in them as the fairway. It's obvious this course hasn't been taken care of in months. Spend the $5-$10 extra and go somewhere that actually resembles a golf course.
