The fairways and greens were terrible with large swaths of the fairways just dirt and the greens were practically nude.

This is a fantastic course with plenty of challenging holes. The only downer was that the tee boxes and greens were in bad to terrible shape.

This is a short course that's wide open and presents few challenges. It's also reasonably priced, so it's a good value if you're looking for a comfortable round that will emphasize your short game and reward you for accuracy while still being forgiving. The fairways and greens were in excellent shape.

Have played here often, but this time they didn't do too well. Pace of play was painfully slow...a 5-hour round...and the sand traps were like cement. Regardless, the staff here is always very professional and the course itself is fun. They need someone to prompt better pace.

I've played here a few times now, and enjoyed each round. On this particular day the track was soggy, it was cold, and fog heavy enough to limit visibility to about 100 yards rolled in for four or five middle holes to make things interesting. The greens were a little rough and need some work, but the course was generally in good shape.

I like this course, but was a little disappointed this time out. The greens were a little spongy, but otherwise in good shape. The pace on the back nine was extremely slow and there wasn't anyone out there to keep things moving along. Regardless, I'd recommend this course. It's fun and modestly challenging, and a good bargain.

The greens were a little rough, and the rough was made dangerous by the presence of numerous open sprinkler service holes, which made for very dangerous impediments when driving the cart in search of errant balls. But the course itself is a fun tract that will present a modest challenge and present well-maintained traps. Very little water. Lots of green grass and enough mature trees to make for an interested day.

Really enjoyed my second visit to this course. Variety of interesting challenges and well-placed hazards. The greens were not in good shape, which we disappointing. Last time they were much better.

Terrific course about 1 hour south of Phoenix. Undulating, with enough trees and well-maintained traps to make for a moderately challenging round.

This is a fun, competitive course with an interesting layout that can challenge without crippling you. Lots of grass in the roughs makes for a pleasant round during which you don't have mangle your club heads against the desert. Despite its name, this is not a links course, but it is a very good one that you'll enjoy playing.

I'm from the Midwest and while I enjoy desert courses it was a treat to find this gem with all its green grass roughs, plentiful excellent sand traps, and numerous trees. The pace was perfect and the staff was friendly and attentive. Couldn't ask for a better round.

Some narrow fairways, good placement of hazards, and enough trees and shrubs to make it more interesting that many AZ courses. The greens were in terrible shape, which I attributed to time of year and the fact that there was some repair work in process.

Always enjoy playing at Lone Tree. Nice layout. Challenging, but not overly so.

This is a nice place to get in a good round of golf. It's not overly challenging, but a fun experience. The greens are always in bad shape. This time, the pace was exceedingly slow -- almost a 6-hour round. They need to a marshal out there to keep people moving. I still enjoy playing here, but will be cutting back during the summer when I can get on better courses for the same money.

Nice change of pace from typical desert courses, with plenty of trees and green in rough. Course is tighter than average, and it is very compact, so tee boxes are closer than normal to the green you just played. Course isn't terribly challenging, but fun to play.

Nice course layout but not too challenging. Everything was good value and good time, but the greens were really rough and poorly maintained. This is a good, fun course and a terrific spot to work on most aspects of your game. Nice people.

The course is a nice and challenging for most golfers. It has a number of well-protected greens and perfectly placed traps. Overall, a very nice course with a friendly staff. The problem is management, which appears to be running the place on the cheap with little concern for golfing customers. Carts are in poor repair, and several are in the shop. The play is exceptionally slow (figure 5 hours, minimum) and there are no rangers to keep play flowing. The location is attractive, so heavy play, and they should be able to afford to invest. I probably won't go back there.
