Save your money

While I understand that they are undergoing an irrigation upgrade, it is not currently worth the top dollar price that they are charging. I knew that there would be one tempo hole due to work. They even called me the night before to make sure that I knew of this and knocked $10 off the price due to the ongoing work.
When I arrived the next day the pro shop again asked if I knew about the temp hole. He then went on to say that one of the other par 4s was playing a little shorter as well. It turned out that this other whole was shortened from approximately 420 yards to 130 yards. In my mind, this would constitute a second temp hole.
Before I even teed off, I went to the driving range. The starter was very nice, but said that they were limited to seven hitting locations. This meant that I may have to give up my spot to someone with an earlier tee time. As it turned out, that didn’t happen. But I rushed through the warm-up.
I had a flight to catch shortly after my round, so I wanted to take a shower. I was assured prior to playing that they had shower facilities. Once I got undressed I realized that there were no towels and two of the three showers had no soap.
This was meant to be a world class facility and a course on my bucket list. I appreciate the $10 discount, but that certainly didn’t make up for a poor experience.

Save your money and play Kiahula (sp) course instead. It’s about one mile away. It doesn’t have the views of the ocean. But the chorus was in very good condition. How much better Golf experience.

Will go back

Course was just opened about 6 weeks ago. Great shape for something so new. Good layout. Mt]y only issue is that there is such a big difference between tips and one up tees. One up is about 6200 yds. Tips are over 7200. I played tips and had a lot of very=y long 2nd shots. I’d have preferred something around 6600 yds.

Spongy & Slow Greens

I was OK with the layout of the course, but the greens were so slow and spongy that it took all of the momentum out of play.

Overpriced blast from the past

Who knew that the world famous Las Vegas National was to be found surrounded by squalor? I have no issues with the course and layout. I played from the back tees and found the course to be relatively challenging. That said, it reminded me of a typical muni course. I have no issues with munis. I play them all of the time. But I don't expect to pay $129 plus $59 for club rental to play a course that has absolutely no redeeming character. For that kind of money I would expect nice views of the mountains... something "pretty".
The whole experience was just lackluster. Starting with the cart guys who seemed put out to have to get me rental clubs. Follow that up with a starter that couldn't seem to remember that i was a single and "what was your name again". There seemed to be no order to who teed off next.
I have no issue with the cart girl. I actually appreciated the fact that when I ordered a bottle of water from her she told me that there was two bottles in the cart already (again, that might have been something nice to know).
Everything was just kind of ragged around the edges. The course itself was OK and placed most anywhere else might have been enjoyable.
If I was a resident, I might be OK with paying the $49 resident rate. But have no intention of paying $129 again for this experience.
