Seration special

Back 9 was closed. Playing the front nine twice was the "offer" revealed at the check-in counter.

Showing its age, but still a very nice layout

I played it after a long absence. Some of the course infrastructure suffers from non-maintenance (sand trap rakes, cart paths, tee boxes, etc.), but the grass on the fairways and greens are as good as I remember them being back when it was fairly new 25 years ago. The layout is very good, and it is a good test of your golfing ability. (And mine came up lacking on most holes.) Take advantage of low rates during the hot summer, and you may be able to get a quick round in because the course won't be crowded. There are a lot of golf course options out there, and I mostly play elsewhere. But, I may make a return trip to PD this summer, because it was fun to be there again.

Limited and Kind of Boring

Built around a major flood channel facility means that every hole slopes down toward the ditch, usually on the right, with bunkers guarding the left side of the fairway. Almost a dearth of trees, since those are incompatible with the function of a flood channel. There is very little variation from hole to hole, reaping a rather boring round. But, if you can hit a straight drive (doesn't even have to be that long), you can score well on this course.
