Sandelie Golf - East Course
Played On 07/16/2017you get what you pay for (in a good way)
I paid $28 on a weekend and the round was less than 4 hours. Conditions weren't all that great - the fairways were dry and the greens were spongy (from overwatering?) or partially dead or just aerated, so all-in-all not great...but again, $28 for 18 holes.
The course is really easy to walk and there isn't much trouble at all, aside from trees on half the holes and OB on a few. Basically, this seems like a really good place to work on your game.

Great pace of play. Not at all busy (midday on a Wednesday) - I walked it in about 3:15 with some waiting on the last few holes.
Superb condition. I only ran into one soggy spot, but that's because I hit it down where I shouldn't.
Fairly easy, but with enough hazards to keep you honest. Between that and the pace of play/lack of crowds, this seems like a great place to learn to play.

I don't understand all the love this course gets. The front 9 is nice enough, but the layout and playability of the back 9 is bad, plain and simple. I suppose they couldn't do much with the parcel of land they had, but the stretch of holes from 12-16 are just silly. It's fun to be challenged by a golf course, but if the course is hard because it's gimmicky that is frustrating, not fun. Not only that, those holes brought the round to a standstill. We were stacked up 3 deep waiting to tee off on most of those holes, and this was a mid-morning weekday tee time. I can't imagine what it's like on a weekend.
The golf shop & grill were mediocre at best. The twosome we got paired with got delayed close to 10 minutes trying to get food at the turn. That said, the staff was all quite friendly and the drink cart was on the spot.
Finally, I don't think this course drains as well as people say. It was definitely muddy in several places. It's been a wet spring, but I've played other courses nearby earlier this season that were much better. Do yourself a favor - spend 5-10 dollars more and play somewhere else.

Played in early April and again in early May, both times the course was in excellent shape. Drainage is outstanding. Great course for walking. Nice clubhouse. Free warm-up range balls with the round.
Course itself: fairly straightforward, but in a good way (i.e. not simple or uninteresting). Not a lot of water or trees, but enough to keep you honest. Little in the way of elevation changes. Finally, to reiterate: in excellent shape considering all the rain this year. My new go-to course.
