Ventura Country Club
Played On 09/30/2023Good, but....
Course was in good shape. The cart paths need to be done/redone.
The main issue was that the ranger kept coming by and talking to one of the golfer, who
is a member, and their chatter continued even
when one of the other golfers or I were attempting shots.
Stoneybrook West Golf Course
Played On 09/09/2023Too expensive for the conditions.!
The course was a gem 5+ years ago - definitely not the case now. The fairways are cut unevenly, the first cut is roo high, with grass cngs and debris/garbase present.

Played On 04/16/2022The good the bad and the ugly
Course is good and with the ongoing improvements it will only get better.
Bad - apparently the membership is allowed to insert itself at any point onto the course and leave in the same manner. A single woman was suddenly in front of us on hole 12 and left at hole 15.
Ugly - staff insisted that I give him my phone number
when checking in. I told him that I was never asked that when I checked in to play - NEVER. He also
insisted that the person with whom I was playing had to come in to give his phone number as well.

Played On 07/03/2021Needs montoring
I have played Mayfair several times over the last five years. The most recent rounds, including today's were tainted by the lack of supervision/management of the course. Fivesomes were all over the course, individual
golfers were skipping holes and passing other groups - no courtesy was extended, golfers were driving carts right up to the greens. I could go on but it suffices to say that I, as a Sanford resident, am very disappointed with my "home course".
Winter Park Golf Course
Played On 06/26/2021Always fun!
Great course - well maintained - and the golfers are golfers. They know golf etiquette and are conscientious of other golfers, especially when being paired those of lesser experoence.
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 04/07/2021Not worth te money
We had to call the pro shop because of slow play. They supposedly talked to the groups in front of us, but the pace, even with a foursome in front of us dropping out at the turn, never got better. Almost five hours to play the round. The starter was confused and ineffective. They have signage on their carts stating that the pace of play should be 4 1/2 tops. The slow play not the only problem - the course condition was fair at best. It was very dry, the tee boxes are in poor condition, and the greens need to be cut and/or rolled. Not worth $75, especially for a mid week morning tee time. I looked at other similar reviews where the response is "We hope you give us another try". Well, not at $75/person for a course in such condition.
Thank you for your review! We apologize that you didn't enjoy your experience with us and that our conditions didn't meet your expectations. We appreciate your feedback and will use your review to help us improve moving forward. Thank you again and we hope you'll give us another try in the future!
Ventura Country Club
Played On 12/20/2017No ranger
Course play was slow due to walkers. Asked them if we could play through - no response. Shipped hole instead. No course monitoring/ranger. Six groups were backed up behind the walkers.
Deltona Club
Played On 12/03/2017Horrible greens
The greens were in horrible shape. Player abuse of greens was obvious. Redo the greens - otherwise will never play Deltona again!
Timacuan Golf Club
Played On 05/15/2016Great course poor tee time management
Everything about the course was great, except the fact that the starter let a six ball go out ahead of our foursome. We were delayed, starting at the 2nd hole, and this lasted the duration. Apparently the six people were members or members and guests.
Overall, we enjoyed the course.
Alaqua Country Club
Played On 04/17/2014Great course but.....
The course was great and challenging. It was made more challenging by the fact that 1) the scorecard was inaccurate, including no hole maps and 2) one or two holes had no hole schematic/map posted. We told the golf "pro" that we had not played the course and he never informed us about the aforementioned issues. When brought to the attention of the management the following day, because the golf "pro" Austin Hughes had already left, the manager stated that "It's been a private course and the members know the layout". Further discussion was fruitless as no apology was offered. Maybe Alaqua should return to its private status. Then again it did not survive financially as such before.
Thanks for playing the New Ventura CC! We plan to rework the cart paths in the near future after assessing issues regarding rain and excessive runoff. Our Player Assistant is very involved in pace and managing the golf course, sorry for any distractions.
