Frisco Lakes Golf Club
Played On 04/10/2016Greens Are Excellent...No Really
Been playing this course since it first opened. Greens are the best I've seen, since this time. New owner added new tress all over the course a few yrs ago, now they are coming in, very nice. (in a few years this course will be much harder due to growth) And even more pretty. Once the fairways start growing in, which they will in the coming months, it will be even better. I'm hoping they let the roughs grow long again, made the course even more unique, but still very fair. Staff in pro shop are nice people, but some days can be a bit demanding when explaining items to you.
Bear Creek Golf Club - West Course
Played On 03/25/2016Let's Get Moving
Bear Creek is a combination of 2 courses (East & West). On this day play the front 9 of East. And due to the slow pace of play, was able to move to the front 9 of West to complete 18 holes. Accessing both provided the ability to truly compare the 2. First, East course condition is not as good as West, especially on the greens. West Greens are in good shape. (almost very good) Overall, the conditions of the West course is way better.... If 1-10 is the scale, 10 being best, the West would be a 7, East 4.75. Almost a 5. (Conditions) Layout of each course is full of trees thus very nice. But the West Course truly is the gem of the 2 courses. Pace of Play is 5hrs Plus. (Great team // very friendly in the club-house) Though owners need to find a way to pick-up-pace.
Twin Creeks Golf Course
Played On 01/17/2016The Twin Creeks "Triangle"
Course is in good-shape, considering all the rain this areas has received. Greens run true and are well kept. Outside the occasional golfer who forgets to fix their ball mark on the green or that of dragging their feet across the green, which is no fault of the course management, I’d say a strong 7 out a possible 10 ranking in my book. The course probably has one of the most unique finishing three holes around DFW, where you need to jockey around various ponds that require accurate shots off the tee. With a long par 3 16th, a dog-leg right at the 17th where you need to clear a pond by a 240 yd tee shot to have a good approach into a green that is surrounded mainly by water, the "Twin-Creeks Triangle" ends with water all along the left side of the 18th's fairway. Best to keep your mind focused or allow the beer to help guide you through. Either way your are entering the triangle (Would like to provide credit to another for dubbing the stretch as the Triangle, once I herd him say it, it made perfect sense) For all you golfers out there just remember, “If you leave the green in better shape then when you found it, then the next time you play, the green will be better then you expect.”
