Ocean City Golf Club - Newport Bay
Played On 04/07/2019Such a deal
I was pleasantly surprised by OCGC. The Newport Bay layout is very scenic and has some very challenging holes. The course was in generally good shape, although the fairways were still dormant and were light brown, instead of green (although they played fine.) I was skeptical because of the low price but our overall experience was fine and we'll definitely be back again.
Eagle's Landing
Played On 04/06/2019A good option in the OC area
Eagle's Landing remains one of our favorite courses in the Ocean City area. The course starts off easy and then ratchets up the difficulty in the middle of the round. There are several areas that are very scenic, and the overall condition of the course was good, considering the early-season date. Just about the only problem with Eagle's Landing is that they don't have a range (well, they do, or did, but they're not allowed to use it by the FAA because of the adjacent airport.) So be ready for that, and you'll be just fine.
Oak Creek Golf Club
Played On 09/06/2018Not a bad choice
There aren't that many good choices for non-private golf in the OC. Oak Creek is probably a little overpriced at $115...$89 would be more like it. The course is in good shape, the fairways are wide, with lots of room to hit the driver. Greens are good; about 6 of them had been needled-aerated (small holes) which we weren't told in advance but to be fair it didn't really affect play very much. On balance, I'd play it again...but I'd look for a deal. P.S. - all the people were extremely friendly.
Oyster Reef Golf Course
Played On 04/25/2018One of your better options on HHI
Our second time playing Oyster Reef, and we liked it again this time. Reasonably challenging layout with many bunkers but plenty of room to play, as well. Greens are good - medium speed and held shots. The only negative from a conditioning standpoint is that the forward tees (and the range hitting area) were both in bad shape. The middle and back tees were OK, however. Look for a Hot Deal and you won't do much better on HHI. PS - clubhouse is nice and food is excellent, too.
Old South Golf Links
Played On 04/22/2018Lots of forced carries and target golf
As the review title states, Old South has a lot of forced carries over marsh and several holes are straight target golf - hit over marsh to the fairway, and hit over more marsh to the green. That doesn't do wonders for pace of play, either. Greens are relatively slow and grainy but rolled well overall. This was our second time playing Old South and we didn't like it as well this time - it's worth a try, but we're not sure we're going to do it for a third time.
We appreciate your comments and regret pace of play was more than we wish. The drop areas over the marsh are intended to help keep the pace reasonable. We did have an exceptionally busy day that can cause delays. Please try us on a day that is not sold out for a better experience.
SilverRock Resort
Played On 11/30/2017Excellent track, well worth playing
We enjoyed our round at SilverRock. The front nine is beautiful. The second nine has recently reopened and has recently been re-routed; there are several excellent holes on the back and I think more work is still underway. The conditions on both front and back were very good. Only real drawback is the new 18th hole isn't a very good finishing hole, especially after the tough 17th; I think some additional re-routing might be in order on that hole. But that notwithstanding, we thought it was a very nice course and we'll come back again in the future to see how it's continued to evolve.
Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
Played On 11/28/2017Nice track, not as well known as others in the area
We enjoyed the course. Overall course conditions were excellent, although some of the off-course areas on the property need some attention (clean-up). Greens rolled well and were reasonably fast for this time of year. Some sections are quite dramatic, with elevated tees and big waste areas to be avoided. We'd play it again, and would like to also try the South course.
Indian Wells Golf Resort - Players Course
Played On 11/26/2017Enjoyed the course
We enjoyed our round at Indian Wells (Players). The greens were quite slow but rolled true; all other conditions were excellent. All staff members were friendly and helpful. We played as a foursome in 4:15, so pace of play was good. The only real complaint we had was that the restaurant/club house closed at 6:00PM on Sunday, so afternoon golfers were out of luck. We would have liked to have had dinner there but ended up having to go elsewhere.
Eagle's Landing
Played On 09/16/2017Nice track at great price
Eagle's Landing is one of the better courses in the Ocean City area and I've played it a number of times. It's a fun layout with a good mix of holes (including some "target golf" holes) and if you get a hot deal from GolfNow, it's a real bargain. There are some nice scenic marsh views, too. The only downside of the entire experience is that there is no driving range on the property, so there's no way to warm up prior to your round.
Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club - Grizzly/Kodiak Course
Played On 09/09/2017Not bad at all
Nice track; greens rolled pretty well despite having been aerated within the last two weeks. Bunkers were full of soft beach sand. Fairways in generally good shape. Did not see a cart girl after the first hole on a busy Saturday - strange. No marshals to keep pace of play up. All that said, a pretty good track for $70 on a weekend. We'll go back.

Played On 04/23/2017Hi "daa2202" Thank you for the 4 star review. We appreciate the great feedback!
Snow Mountain at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort
Played On 10/28/2016Best golf in Las Vegas area
I love the Paiute courses - all three are excellent and in superb shape. Greens, tees, bunkers, and fairways are immaculate. Generally speaking, there's plenty of room off the tees and then the approach shots are tough. I thought the greens on Snow were hard to read, but they rolled true and the speed was consistent. There's no better deal in Las Vegas golf than the Paiute courses (any of the three) at a GolfNow hot deal price. Staff is very friendly, ranges and practice areas are terrific - and the food and drink in the clubhouse is excellent, too (get the jalapeno-cilantro wings!)
Bear Trap Dunes Golf Club - Grizzly/Kodiak Course
Played On 07/24/2015Very nice facility
My first time playing Bear Trap Dunes, and I was pleasantly impressed. The course is in very nice condition, the greens are true and relatively fast, and the pace of play was excellent (under 4 hours for a threesome.) My only negative comment is that the first three holes on the "Kodiak" nine are relatively boring, but then the remaining 6 holes are very good. We enjoyed it and we'll be back to play it again.
GlenRiddle Golf Club - Man O' War Course
Played On 08/17/2014Challenging links layout
The first 12 holes are straight links, while the last 6 are back in the woods and are more like Glen Riddle's other course, War Admiral. It was very windy on the day we played, which complicated club selection. The greens on both courses seems to get marked up a lot - spike marks and ball marks - a sign that the root structure isn't the greatest. But they still putted pretty well. Nice clubhouse with a Ruth's Chris Steak House as the restaurant - hard to beat that.
Rum Pointe Golf Course
Played On 08/16/2014One of the best in the OC area
Rum Pointe remains one of the besk courses in the Ocean City area. It's mostly a links-style layout, with only a couple of holes back in the trees and with several holes right on Sinepuxent Bay. Course was in very good condition overall and the greens held good shots and putted well. If you can get a discounted tee time from GolfNow, it's also a very good deal - we paid less than $50 per player...excellent rates for a high-end course in a resort area during the peak season.
Eagle's Landing
Played On 08/15/2014Scenic course, fun to play
Eagle's Landing is a very nice course that is kept in very good condition. It is right on Sinepuxent Bay and has many very nice marsh views throughout the course. The staff encourages you to play the white tees but they are quite short (<6000 yards) and most experienced male golfers will be more challenged by the blue tees. No hot deals available from GolfNow but the course is reasonably priced at $58/player during the season, less than the regular prices of several other courses in the area.
The Links At Lighthouse Sound
Played On 06/26/2014One of the best in the area
Lighthouse Sound is a beautiful course with a split personality - holes 2-7, which play right next to the bay, have fantastic views and howling winds, while the rest of the course (especially 9-18) are further inland and very different. But both parts are great, a very nice design with plenty of challenge. The bayside holes are tough when the wind's blowing, and it's always blowing. Greens are medium speed but roll very true. Course was in excellent condition overall. Staff was very friendly, and the clubhouse is very nice (good food, too.) We'll be back.
River Run Golf Course
Played On 05/10/2014Fun resort-area course
River Run is a fun track and one of the better courses in the Ocean City area. Typical Gary Player design - not particularly long, but strategic. Doesn't beat you up, but you have to place your shots to score well. I got an excellent deal from GolfNow of $35/each and it was a great bargain at that price. Course conditions were OK, not stellar, but it's still early season after a bad winter. Greens rolled well and were at a nice speed.
Thank you for your comments, and we are glad to hear that you enjoyed the course.
