Stonecreek Golf Club
Played On 06/05/2019Agonizingly slow on a Wednesday afternoon
The greens and fairways were in great shape but the rough was very long and any balls hit out of the fairways were pretty much lost. The group in front of us (of course playing the black and the blue tees) spent all day searching for balls in the really long grass directly in front of many of the tee boxes. No marshals to be found. We had to skip a hole to get past them so we could finish in less than 5 hours. Not a fun experience. Won’t be back anytime soon.
Eagle Crest Resort - Challenge Course
Played On 09/11/2014Fun and challenging -- as the name says!
Great short course but need to be accurate with distance control. Used most of the clubs in my bag.
Greens were in good shape. We paid $29 per person via Golf Now but they charged us $17.50 per rider in the cart - seemed kind of steep for an executive course.
San Vicente Golf Resort
Played On 9/19/2013In great shape for lat summer
Greens are soft and plush, fairways have a few dry spots but, overall, very fun to play. Several holes have large trees right in the middle of the fairway obstructing approach shots. Local knowledge (or GPS with hole info) would have been helpful.
Cathedral Canyon Golf Club
Played On 9/14/2013Avoid this course
The course had recent flood damage but that was the least of the problems. We played on a Saturday morning and the front nine were OK but the back nine were unplayable due to heavy thatching of everything but the tee boxes and the greens. As a result, there were 3 to 4 inches of dead thatch everywhere. If you could find your ball in the middle of the fairway, you had to hit off this junk. To make matters worse, there were multiple heavy tractors doing the thatching causing a massive dust storm (in 105 degrees heat). There was no mention of the work when we checked in and no discount in fees. We will never return.
The Club at Starr Pass - Rattler/Coyote
Played On 3/14/2013Pro shop and starters need customer service training.
The pro shop attendant acted put-out by having to tell us what courses we were playing and where to go to get our carts. One of the staff on the range interrupted our very friendly starter and told us quite curtly that we weren't allowed to look for any lost balls because, if we did, we would make the course come to a dead stop. We did look for lost balls and we never saw the group behind us. Didn't need the lecture or attitude.
Hello, Vetdoctor. Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars, but we hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
