The reason I posted this as a 5 Star , is so that it went straight to the top of the review board for people to notice.

I don’t think I’ve ever had more of an unwelcome experience all the years I’ve played golf as I did today, after booking a round of Golf Now with a price of $40 for 18 holes and a cart. My son accompanied me today, who has “Youth On Course pass”. So this price is five dollars for a round of golf for kids, and $10 if a cart is involved with an adult. So that price should have been $55, somewhere somehow, which took at least 10 minutes for the shop attendant to actually come up with how much it was going to cost. I was absolutely astonished that the price was $75. I asked as to how much and why this is $35 more, and he said oh well you know riding in the cart is $19 and 2 drinks was $35.00 ?????which is he violated the agreement with youth on course. The shop worker acted as if he was angry that we were we had booked through GolfNow, and I felt like I was deceived at this point. After questioning the attendant on cost, he spoke to us as if his authority was being questioned, as if ! . Right?!!!
I taken back as to his tone , thinking to my self “are you serious ?!! “ He spoke to us was in a very disrespectful manner because the [cost] questioned !!

So I went ahead and I paid the $75, and right from the beginning when we got our cart, it was filthy , seats was stained and dirty. As well as smelling bad. The carts are frankly old, Unkept,outdated and rode teriably bad !! We were treated poorly, however The time with my son was more important .

From the Teebox down the fairway to the green, I found that it wasn’t very appealing to the eye. I found that mowing everything the same length would make sense for someone , however nearly every single hole looked looked like it was brush hogged the same length. No scapping lines of fairway, to approach landing, to the fringe to the green were apparently unrecognizable for its importance. The greens were a 6 out of 10 , and seemed to be decently cared for.
The amenities at the turn were needed. My son and I were hungry, so we ordered two hotdogs, and 2 energy drinks for $24, after paying this and TIPPING HER, I was told that there is $4 more dollars still more in tax that she did not ring up. This tax was in fact $1.44, not $4.00.

So we continued the rest of the round, it troubled me a great deal, that a 2nd time I felt like a second now I was manipulated, deceived, and lied to about costs at this golf course. And it really seems to me like there is a tie between the assistant in the pro shop, and the assistant in the club house.
So I feel like I was stolen from, mistreated, my son spoken to disrespectfully after going back from the 1st tee to the pro shop to get a score card. He was roughly spoken to and asked what his age was ( which is 16) he is a licensed driver and great young man.
Most of all , which troubled me the entire round , we were not even greeted as guest with any class what so ever, to be stolen from by employees t the very least was disheartening.

This course is over priced, overrated , under maintained and employees who have been employed steal from customers. Even after tipping them.

If I am ever asked by someone about this course, I will say they should watch How you are charged for being there.

I spent $105 dollars today ( HOW ???)only to feel like I was completely mistreated, deceived and ripped off!!

You will never see me there again !!

Seriously , it is an issue. Marshall’s do not enforce the pace of play, it is really an issue. Multiple Players grouped not letting singles play through, (seniors in groups of 4, walkers, Groups of 4 , pace of play) who wants to wait over 20+ min. A hole?! Please place a Marshall on each 9, please enforce the play speed. Everyone loves the game, the pace awful.
I booked a round at 11:08 I arrived at 10:15 to warm up on the range only to get to the first tee to the starter finding out I can’t even start.
The reason is is because there is a women’s league on the back nine they still hadn’t come off, which of course there’s no mention of any of this when booking through GolfNow. Also it took me over two hours to get through the first nine because of the slow play, usually it takes me 2 1/2 hours to get through 18, I was told that it is hard to enforce the pace because there are no morning Marshall’s.
The starters are awesome, Fred is awesome, all of the course accommodations are great, everyone is there for a nice time, please Accommodate the pace of play, please fix this.

Upon arriving at the golf course, I went to the pro shop and was informed that they do not take credit cards. Because their machine is down I would have to go over 200 yards away to go to the bar and pay for my round of golf. Once I got there the place was packed with a golf league, there was no mention of this when making my tee time.
So I had to go all the way back to the pro shop to pick up a key for my golf cart, and I went out onto the first tee. I was greeted with people from the golf league, that were very nice and told me to go ahead because they’ll be going slow. The front nine went at a moderate pace, which was pleasant.
Upon going to the 10th hole there was a long line of league players that I was stuck behind, it was in excess of a half an hour on one hole that I had to wait even after joining up with other people who are non-league players. It took us 2 1/2 hours to get through nine holes and did not finish until after sunset. This is completely and 100% unacceptable, when you have a golf course that encourages people to come play golf when it’s absolutely flooded with hundreds of people of slow playing golfers. I will not return here and I will make sure that every single person that I speak to I will recommend that they do not go and play this golf course because of the insolence and non-professionalism that This Golf course carries . I would never play this golf course again, nor recommend this course. I’ve played it in the past and each time have been met with disappointment with no marshals making sure that the gameplay is moved forward at the correct pace, which these people have no care about. All they care about is money and could care less if the play is handled correctly with the correct amount of time, I spent a total of 4 1/2 hours because of no marshaling and went home after sunset.

The staff are amazing, the nicest people I have met golfing are here. The tee boxes are clean, fairways are great and the greens are challenging and sticky for those iron shots. The course is always clean, I tell people about this course all the time. A must play for the season .

I’ve played this course five times this year, and every time I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Everything is well-kept is clean, and it just draws a different clientele.
The course is laid out well it has its challenges it’s a fun course to play, it is definitely in overlooked gym in southern Michigan

First driving into the golf course it was very old and very outdated, the building needs a series update exterior and the parking lot looks like it’s just full of rocks. Not very appealing to the eye. some rearranging should be done about I having the bag holders bye the pro shop, so you’re not leaving your bags out in the parking lot and then taking your cart and having a drive to where you can go into the parking lot with your cart then put your bag and then have the back up and then turn around and then go to the first tee. It’s completely backwards. There should alsoBe a cart path so that when you go to warm up and hit a bucket of balls you actually have that Avenue because if you go to try to pick up your bag and you drive all the way around the building and then you can’t even take the cart by the driving range to warm up. So for sure you should have car parking over by the golf range and then you can proceed straight over to the first or 10th tee.
There was nobody in the pro shop headed to go to the bar, The staff were great however the interior needs an update as well. It looks old.
The course is laid out well the sand is not done very well there’s lots of rocks in the sand if you go in there, The tea boxes more than less have a lot of damage to them, it looks like somebody’s hit it with a shovel and in some of these tea boxes and I am not impressed by it at all the fairways are fine mowed well. The main reason I probably won’t return to this course is because the greens, even though they’re nice looking they’re mode entirely left standing too tall, it is got to be the worst heights of a green that I’ve ever seen it is like putting in your backyard it’s that that slow. There are minor changes to the course that would make it much more attractive and much more accessible from the parking lot to the greens and you would have a much more successful returning clientele base for golf

The layout is nice, generally secluded as you play. The green seem to be the only hold back, debris on the green. Lumpy and a lot of ball bounce on greens when putting, green shots are difficult due to under conditioning this time of year.
I still play here a lot in the summer, it is always a battle of not have nice greens here. Burned edges for fungi and disease On some of the greens , please work on your greens.

Have been playing Willowood for three years, it has always been a very enjoyable place to play golf. However, my round of golf today was amazing . The greens were spectacular, the reaction to longshots with an iron to the green was beautiful to see and how the ball reacted once it hit the green . I was so impressed of the play today, compared to last year and the year before. I would definitely recommend this course and have on several occasions To my friends that play golf.
Please don't change the greens, they are almost perfect.
