Good value, high fun quotient

First time on this course - they have 3 nines and we played the Red and White. This is a nice, low stress course that is very playable for the average golfer. Not too much trouble, but enough variety to keep up the interest. It was in nice shape. They included a hot dog and soda in the price. I think it's family-owned and low key, which is how I like it. I will come back!

Lived up to recommendations!

I just loved this place! Set in Pennsylvania's Lancaster County, this is an interesting and well-maintained course. The greens were perfect. Elevation changes make for a bit of a challenge - need to add more club on two elevated par 3s on the back 9. It's a hour drive for me, but well worth it. Staff friendly and accommodating. Will definitely be back.

Shabby around the edges...

I reviewed Inniscrone back in 2014 - I think... As I said I worked there for awhile and, while there are some quirky holes, I generally like coming back here. This time I played tees that were too long, but that wasn't the issue. The place just looks like it could use some TLC. The greens were pock marked - unfixed ball marks plus a lot of black spots from past ball mark sins. Most of the tee boxes were full of bare spots. Maybe the maintenance budget is down? On the plus side, the staff (of one?) was very pleasant and I was greeted nicely. The fairways are mostly decent, but again, lots of divots that weren't replaced and no sand bottles on the carts. The price for a Senior of $33 was great.

Thanks for the feedback Dave! We are working hard daily to get the course back to pristine conditions from some of the wear and tear due to traffic through the course. Glad you got a great deal with the senior special! See you soon.

Still my favorite local track

Since we moved closer last year, this has become my go-to course. The senior tees suit me perfectly and there is a good mix of short and long holes. I'm getting the hang of the few holes with blind tee shots (#5 & #7). Very friendly staff that does a good job of matching me up since I often go as a single. Pleasant bar/restaurant.

Decent public track

I play this course once or twice a year. It is a good public course, but don't set expectations too high for conditioning. Greens have been "shelled" and nobody fixes ball marks. Fairway divots everywhere and no sand bottles on carts. Front 9 is open and long - back is through the woods and 200 yards shorter. Tough to pick the right tees for a senior. Green tees are about right on the front and pretty short on back. Whites are a bit too long, especially on front. Pace of play was OK. Food is good, but you need to join the "Cream Valley Social Club" (free - 24 hour wait) to get an adult beverage since they don't have a liquor license. $39 for seniors OK, but not great.

A Little Gem!!

At 4469 yds, par 66, McCall would seem to be a pushover, but not! A Donald Ross gem with every hole a different challenge - doglegs, bunkers, small tricky greens - you will use every club in the bag. In excellent condition always! Nice course for seniors since you can hit some short irons here. Par 3 #4 at 230 yds across a creek from an elevated tee is one of the toughest and prettiest holes in the area. It's a private course, but takes Victory golf passes on Thu.

Worth the Drive!

I love Bella Vista! Each hole is a little different so it keeps your interest. It's always in beautiful shape. The Gold tees (@5500yds) are a fair test for a senior. There Is a good mix of longer and shorter par 4s. Island green is great. Pace was acceptable. Course runs through a lot of housing which detracts a bit, bit overall it's a really nice place to play.

Good Value!

Second time on this course. Nice condition and layout for a local community course. The first time I played the Middle Tees which were a bit too long so decided to play the Senior tees. Over correction! These show on the card as 5000 yes, Par70. But... There were a few "vanity yardages" where my GPS showed them to be much shorter to the extent that I was playing 200 yd par 4s. Probably played closer to 4700. On the whole it is a nice course that gives great value for the money. I'll go back, but not sure which tees to play :(

Wait awhile before you play

Springfield CC has always been a decent muny. I play here at least once a season. Last fall they gassed their fairways and installed a more durable grass. The problem seems to be that a combination of factors, including a brutal winter, has prevented the grass from being established. As a result many if the fairways are brown and patchy. It will probably be fine next year. On the plus side the greens were great and they are discounting greens fees.

Nice but some quirkiness

I've played this course many times - actually worked there for a short time years ago. Mostly it's a decent design, but there are 3 quirky holes: #5 is a 90 yard par 3 from a greatly elevated tee. It's almost impossible to hold the green and there is a steep drop off behind the green. #10 is a par 4 from an elevated tee with a short fairway. A perfect layup gives you a 160 yd shot - all carry - to the green. #16 has a weird split fairway, although they are trying to fix it. I played senior tees - important to pick the right tees. But, overall a decent place and priced right.

Scottish Golf in PA

I play here a few times a season. It's billed as "Scottish Golf" and while that is a bit of a stretch, there is a wind-swept nature about the place, built on PA farmland. The course was was in excellent shape and not very crowded on a Tuesday. Several tees to pick from although the Senior/Forward tees are not rated for men. A few tricky holes, but mostly well-designed solid golf holes. Competitive rates. A little remote, but worth the ride!

Nice course - great value

I try to play here once a season, although it is an hour plus drive. Multiple sets of tees help you play based on your ability. Super Senior riding rate of $31 is a great deal. Lots of variety - all holes have unique designs. Try it, you'll like it! Oh, but it's a dry township - no beer only sodas:(

One of my favorite tracks!

I play here several times a year. It is a great design - every hole is different. Many tee boxes - something for everyone. There are several blind tee shots - a good GPS is useful. It is priced right. Love "Amish Corner" - take off on The Masters in Lancaster County!

Challenging desert golf!

The Views is affiliated with Sun City Vistoso. There are enough sets of tees that you can find one that is right for you. Although it flows through the Sun City retirement community, the presence of housing is not objectionable. I really enjoyed the round - good value and good challenge.

Great value!

Have played this course several times a year for the past 15 years while on vacation in AZ. It is always in nice condition - perfect greens. It is in a park so no houses on course. A great alternative to the more expensive options available in Tucson. Texture of "sand" in the bunkers is a challenge.

Course is coming back from the dead

I've played at Vistoso every year since it was built. Initially it was a very high end ($150.00) ticket, but worth it. Over time it became surrounded by housing and conditions varied until it hit bottom in about 2012. A real shame because it is a great design - every hole different. Now in 2014 it seems on the way back with fees ranging from about $70 to $99 with some good deals. There are some forced carries, but you need to pick the right set of tees. A challenging track - not for beginners.
