Greens were in great shape. The elevated tees in the par 3’s are hard to judge proper club selection with wind. Holes 10 and 11 make it mandatory that you place your drive right over the water on 10 and left toward the hill on 11; otherwise, it is very hard to get on the greens in prox.

Saint Andrews Golf & Country Club was in great shape for this time of year. The greens were very slow but the fairway and sand traps were in excellent shape for March. The staff was extremely nice and except for a very deliberate twosome in front of us the day was perfect.

Got to the course 45 mins before scheduled tee off and was told by the pro at the counter...."come back in 15 mins..." even though we had prepaid with Golf Now. 15 mins. Later, the pro shop had a line of 10 people and as I waited to sign up the beverage counter assistant signed me in and was very cordial. I later asked the 15 min pro what the course rating was (as it was not on the score card) and he told me to look it up on the internet as he sat behind his computer; again the bev assist helped me out by getting me the old score card which had it. The greens were very hard and extremely slow.

The course was in good shape, the greens were fast as was the fairways. The sand traps were very shallow and hard. My problem was I was playing from the back tees (as the course is rather short) but even when I drove the center of the fairway the ball would hit and run either into the tree line or water. We had very windy conditions and I had trouble hitting wedges and short irons to the green. Using more Club sometimes met flying the green and entering water or rough from the other hole.
