Deltona Club
Played On 03/30/2017Fun course with lot of sand and no water
This course has some tough holes but also a few short par 4's. Lot of extra sand traps and some good elevation changes for a Florida layout --- but no water hazards! Greens and fairways are in good shape, and most hurricane damage has been cleaned up (unlike some other nearby courses).
DeBary Golf & Country Club
Played On 03/16/2017Fun course in very good condition
Only negatives were snack bar was closed and got stuck behind a fivesome on back 9.
Indian River Preserve Golf Club
Played On 01/26/2017This course has some challenging holes especially on windy days
Course was in good overall condition and some holes are very challenging on windy days. Playing length from white tees is too short unless you are very short, but moving back to blue tees adds over 500 yards.
Mayfair Country Club
Played On 03/04/2016Enjoyable Course In Good Condition
Has been a number of years since we played this course as we had heard it wasn't in good shape --- but that's wrong now. Greens were very good and it is a fun layout with some interesting holes. Par 3's all played difficult as they were into wind and relatively long. A very enjoyable round and will try to get back soon.
Cypress Head Golf Club
Played On 12/07/2015Challenging & fun course with new greens
Course had recently re-opened after being closed to install new greens and some other improvements. Layout is still the same and has some fun holes. Not a long course from white tees, and has some reachable par 4's and 5's. Clubhouse and restaurant were also extensively renovated.
The Club at Venetian Bay
Played On 03/21/2015Greens are currently in repair
Wonderful layout but greens reportedly had a disease and are in repair. Was not given any notice about these conditions when we booked or when we arrived --- a very discourteous practice for such an arguably top notch course! Also, some fairway bunkers are being removed and are currently partially filled with pine needles (free relief). A number of areas adjoining some fairways are being developed for future house lots. Starter argued that daily pin location was #2 but it clearly was not on many holes!
New Smyrna Golf Club
Played On 12/4/2012Flat but well bunkered greens originally designed by Donald Ross
Course is in good shape with recent overseeding of fairways and greens for winter play. Course plays well from white tees and is a good challenge from blue tees with well placed bunkers.
The Club at Pelican Bay - South Course
Played On 12/2/2012Course badly needs overall upgrading especially greens
Not much positive occurring with the operation and maintenance of this course. Their sister North course gets all the attention and is recommended. Too bad the homeowners don't exert more pressure to keep the South course in better shape as it has some good holes.
