SilverRock Resort
Played On 09/08/2015One of the best options in La Quinta
Got a great early morning green fee through Golf Now which was a steal. Course is in great shape for how hot it's been. They seem to soak the fairways at night so a lot of the fairways were pretty wet while I played. The greens were a bit dry in some areas but not much you can do for this time of the year.
Compared to what I paid to play a "country club" down the road, this course was one of the best I've played and would definitely recommend. There are a couple tricky holes but overall the course is not too hard and a variety of skilsets can play and have fun here.
Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Indian/Mountain
Played On 09/06/2015Better options for this time of year
Played here because I'm staying on the property and got a good rate for 18. The course is very dry and not very well maintained. Greens are very patchy and rough so no point even trying to read your putts.
There was not a starter on the course so pace of play was very slow. The clubhouse sends everyone out to start on the Indian and finish on the mountain but we went in reverse as it was backed up even at 7am. The first nine went quick at just over an hour but the back nine on the Indian course was very slow. Check GolfNow.com or other sites as there are a lot of better options in the area for the same price.
PGA WEST Pete Dye Mountain Course
Played On 12/01/2014Great course
Played here with my girlfriend and her dad. Got a great rate online but was worried that the pace of play would be slow since it's cart path only. Other than the first hole and the last hole, we were not waiting for the group ahead of us and were not pushed from behind. The holes are challenging and allow you to hit driver for most of them as well as long challenging par threes. Overall this was a great course and will play again one day.
