Tough course, but very fair. It is always in remarkable conditions and the staff is beyond friendly. The staffs at other premier courses in NorCal could learn a lesson or two from these folks.

I have played both courses several times and considered this one of my favorite places to golf when I visit my family in SoCal. The greens are in decent shape, but unfortunately, that's the only positive. I paid for 18 and only played 9. That's how upsetting it was. I saw someone drive their cart up to the green and no one said anything about it. The staff is still one of the friendliest you'll ever encounter. I'm afraid they're fighting a losing battle until drought conditions get better.

If you stopped coming to this course because of conditions, you can start playing it again. I played all four of the local courses over a 5 day period and Cypress Lakes' greens were by far in the best shape. Great job by the staff to make this course what it is...
If they could only get a new contractor for their food service.

I hate to speak bad of this place because the people who work there seem knowledgable and kind. Unfortunately, that's the only thing this place has going for it. The tee boxes are full of weeds, the fairways are much of the same, the bunkers are like hitting off of concrete and don't even get me started on the greens. On multiple occasions, I tried to wash my ball only to find out it was dry. I only saw two watering stations and the second one had no water in it. Keep in mind it gets into the triple digits here on a regular basis. Oh yeah, the water fountains were out of order as well. I will be driving a little further away when I visit Bakersfield in the future.

The fairways were almost as long as the rough, and the rough wasn't short. Lot's of weeds and the tee boxes had not been mowed a while. The greens were like putting on quick sand. When is the back nine going to be repaired so it may be played as advertised? They were sending people off the back nine when the early birds were already making the turn which led to significant delays on the 10th tee box.
I won't be playing here again for quite some time...

Very nice course with more than suitable conditions. A couple of the fairway literally run parallel to each other and right next to one another. The scenery is gorgeous! If I had to give them a markdown for something, it would be some of the tee boxes. Several were very muddy and difficult to find a good launching spot. Overall I would have to say "give it a try".

Great round and excellent pace. Greens were a little bumpy and slow, but wouldn't stop me from going back.
