Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
Played On 03/05/2018Always enjoy Indian Canyons South
We were joined by 2 singles one of which only golfed 9. Course was in good shape as usual. Greens were a bit bumpy, but it's as pretty as always. Front 9 took about 2hr. 15min.; back was a little slower.
Mission Hills - Gary Player Course
Played On 02/26/2016An Enjoyable Round
I've golfed here once before, a number of years ago but really didn't remember much about the course. We were a little nervous about the course after we read about all the water an most hole, but we really enjoyed the course. While water is in play on most holes but it's not crazy difficult. We were paired up with a husband and wife and she was struggling a bit so our pace was not quite what it could have been. The marshal asked us to speed it up once which was legitimate but we still finished in under four and a half. Good practice facility and the starter was really friendly and helpful.
PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course
Played On 02/24/2016Second Time Here
This is the second time we've golfed here in the last 2 years. We probably won't rush back. the practice facility only permits irons so you can't get a warm-up with the driver. The course is difficult and not all that picturesque. We golfed as a twosome, so there was some waiting but overall the pace was reasonable. Just not our favorite course to return to.
Thank you for taking the time to review our Dunes course. We are very happy to report that we have made some adjustments to our range netting, and the driving range is now open for the use of woods and irons at all times. The Dunes Course is a Pete Dye design and was intended to be fair, but challenging. Our starters encourage people to play from the tee boxes that best suit their game to add more enjoyment to their round. Situated at the foot of the Santa Rosa Mountains, this links-style course is not set right up against the mountains, but for a more picturesque course, we recommend playing our Mountain Course, another Pete Dye design.
Golf Club At Terra Lago - North Course
Played On 04/17/2015Great Round on the North Course
This was our first time playing Terra Lago. It was recommended by a twosome we were paired up with earlier in the week. We loved it. It was in great shape, but not the easiest layout in the valley. Can be pretty narrow at times and sand and water are strategically placed. Don't even think about hitting it off the fairway. It's very much a desert course with lots of wildlife. Watch out for bunnies.
Resort at Tahquitz Creek Golf Resort
Played On 04/16/2015Good time on the Resort Course
This was our first time on the resort course and it is far more interesting than the other 18. We golfed at 10:45 and it was not very busy ahead or behind us. We finished 18 in under 3.5 hours. It's a very interesting and pretty course; unfortunately they were aerating the tee boxes and spraying the green which was very annoying.
PGA WEST Pete Dye Dunes Course
Played On 04/14/2015La Quinta Dunes Course
This is the first time we have played here. We played at about 11:30 as a twosome, joined last minute by a single. We had a good day, but there was a lot of construction ongoing particularly the water hazards. This takes away from the attractiveness of the course. Might be interesting to see what is like when completed. Not our favorite course on this trip.
The Classic Club
Played On 04/12/2015Classic Club Great As Always
I always enjoy this course and was not disappointed this time. Had a 11:10 tee time as a twosome and were paired up with another twosome. Had a great day and a round at about 4.25 hours. The course was not in as pristine condition as I had remembered it from a couple of years ago, but this was later in the season which has been very warm. Love this place.
Westin Rancho Mirage Golf Resort & Spa - Pete Dye Resort Course
Played On 02/10/2014Great day with friends
This is a very playable course. Not terribly long but a lot of fun holes. Water and bunkers come into play but it's not crazy hard. We had a great day. Weather and pace of play were top notch.
Valley at Marriott's Desert Springs Resort
Played On 02/09/2014The day of the bee attack
This was a late addition to our recent Palm Springs trip. It's a challenging course with hard undulating greens combined with ugly pin placements. When you get near the green that's only half the battle. On this day they had a serious bee attack (that's a first for me) on # 10 so we had to skip 10 and play #11 as a par 3. However they were great about letting us play 1, 2 or as many as we wanted after 18.
Indian Canyons Golf Resort - South Course
Played On 02/07/2014Fun Round
I always enjoy the opportunity to golf at the Indian Canyons South Course. Things were pretty slow this day; 4.75 hours. Course was in great shape.
Dear nrdick,
Great to hear that your experience went well! The water is definitely there, but more for an aesthetic look. Looking forward to your return!
Have a great day!
