The Pearl Golf Links - West Course
Played On 12/26/2016Good round!
Had a good time! The course has a nice layout; nice mix of water, sand and natural areas. Conditions were good especially given the time of year (Dec 26th). We were running a bit late so weren't able to use the practice areas - so can't really comment on this but looked OK. Worst part of the course is the condition of the cath paths. Pace of play was excellent; no waiting at all. Used GolfNow to book the round and got an excellent rate.

Played On 12/02/2016Nice round!
I thoroughly enjoyed this round of golf.
Course condition was excellent... it's winter golf but the fairways, greens and tees were nicely over seeded so they were green and plush... just a bit wet from watering necessary to get the winter rye to grow. Traps were nicely groomed and paths were in good condition. The course layout was quite good but not in my top ten for the immediate area.
I signed up as a single but got paired up with another single. He was a great playing partner. We completed the round in just over three hours only having to wait on a few shots.
Great value for the cost. Definitely would play the Jones Course again.
Mixed reaction to this course
Positives:
* nice layout: good mix of different hole design.... Sand, waste areas, water, elevation changes.
* nice views including marsh, lake, meadows, wildlife
* fairways were in great condition
* great pace of play, finished in 3 hours
* friendly staff
Negatives:
* greens were in bad condition, some not much better than compacted dirt/sand.... This is why I gave the course 3 stars instead of 4 This could be due to the time of year where the Bermuda grass is starting to go dormant.
* tee boxes were a bit ragged as well
Neutral:
* you will be frustrated if your tee shots are not accurate, the landing area on 6-8 holes are no more than 30 yards wide. Really hampers a golfer that's no familiar with the course
* expect some "strange" hole lengths. From the white tees.... a 90 yard par three, 466 yard par 5 followed by 444 yard par 4; front nine 2680 yards, par 34; back nine 3344 yards, par 37
* some really large greens and some really small ones
Because of the price and pace, I'd play it again to squeeze in a quick round.
Meadowlands Golf Course
Played On 09/21/2016Great course - will definitely play it again.
Had a good time playing this course.
It has a nice layout with a good mix of open rolling fairways, sand traps and water hazards. Some elevation changes are mixed in as well. As such, I'd describe it as more of a 'farm'' style course as opposed to a 'beach or marsh' style course.
The course was in good condition. I probably would have said great condition but the tee boxes and fairways were quite soggy due to the high amount of rain over the last few days. The rough was a bit high and the sand traps were hard packed due to rain as well. This made the course play long and generally more difficult. The large, undulating greens were in great shape - no pitch marks, rolled true and good consistent speed.
Despite being cart path only (again due to the rain), the pace of play was good. About 4 1/4 hours. Only had to wait on 2-3 approach shots.
Staff was very friendly.
PS. The area had 6-7 inches of rain over the last few days which is very unusual.. My guess is the course drains OK under normal conditions. Don't let the description above steer you away from visiting the Meadowlands.

Played On 07/05/2016Nice course
The course has a nice layout and in good condition. Not real long but still somewhat challenging with a good mix of tight fairways, sand and water. The only issue I have with this course is the pace of play. This was the second round I played there and both times it took over five hours to finish and it wasn't overly crowded.

I really enjoyed this round!
Condition of the course, especially the greens, was better than average as compared to some of the other courses in the area.
Nice layout that includes a good mix of tightness, water, sand but not overly challenging. I played a mix of white and gold tees to make the overall length of the loop slightly over 6000 yds.
The only somewhat negative was pace of play. I took about 4 3/4 hours to complete but even that was too bad considering the tee time was 11:45 on a Sunday.
Thank you for your review! We are glad to hear that you had an enjoyable round. We apologize for the slow pace of play and hope this will not deter you from returning!
Magnolia/Dogwood at Brunswick Plantation & Golf Links
Played On 06/17/2015Nice course
Course was in good condition except for a few greens that had minor bare spots.
I was a little disappointed in the service. Specifically I had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to check me in, and, even though I was there early, I actually had to ask the guy for a cart to make my scheduled tee time. Minor stuff.
Wasn't busy- I completed the round in 3 1/2 hours. Overall a good experience.
Keith Hills Golf Club - White Course
Played On 11/03/2014Nice course but slow play
The layout and condition of the course was good. However the pace was extremely slow (over 5 hours). There were no rangers. We had a 12;40 tee time and played the final hole in darkness. The response I got from the staff when I mentioned this was "yea that can be frustrating".
Thanks for the review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed our course layout and conditions. We hope to see you back again soon.
