Raptor at Grayhawk Golf Club
Played On 08/19/2016cool place
Awesome facility leads to a solid place to practice and play. Course is in good shape with solid greens. Fun layout until number 16. They remodeled numbers 15-17 a year or so ago and really did a poor job. Number 15 is a fine hole. However, number 16 may be one of the worst holes I have ever seen as it is nothing more than a wedge shot and if you happen to miss it left by a foot, you end up in the desert with an impossible shot as the grass does not extend far enough. Number 17 isn't quite as bad but it is by far the easiest hole on the course, it needs some bunkers. All in all a fun place.
Saguaro Course at We-Ko-Pa Golf Club
Played On 08/03/2016staff ruins a great course
The Saguaro course is extremely pretty with great vistas and views Unfortunately, my experience was marred by an extremely unfriendly staff. The man in the pro shop had a grumpy disposition. The cart guy manning the bag drop was extremely rude and made jokes about my diminutive disposition. The range was inexplicably closed and the snack bar was closed despite what the man in the pro shop told me.
Eagle Mountain Golf Club
Played On 08/01/2016course in progress
I have played over 10 courses in the Scottsdale area in the last 6 weeks and the greens at Eagle Mountain were the best I've seen so far. A few of the fairways are being heavily maintenced but the staff lets you know that and is not a big deal. I played for an absolute steal of 31 dollars and just over 2 and a half hours
Ancala Country Club
Played On 07/31/2016poor layout
Ancala is a private course that features a golf course that is incredibly tight. The tee shot is the hardest shot on each hole which gets rather repetitive. The course feels too packed together as the houses are very close to the fairways and seem like they bear down on you. A few holes on the course are simply dumb, like number four. The course plays extremely short as it is always as hard as a rock. Greens are normally decent but also rock hard so not too playable for an average player.
The Course at Sewanee
Played On 04/08/2016great views
This 9 holes is absolutely spectacular and not something that can be found in many places, especially in the south. The views are unreal and the course is typically in good shape but with slow green speeds. Gil Hanse did a fantastic job with the redesign and the course certainly deserves the awards it has won! They are currently building a permanent clubhouse that will include a restaurant and a bar with a great outdoor deck that is sure to only enhance the experience.
Peaks at Tonto Verde Golf Club
Played On 07/25/2015Cool views
This course is way out in the middle of nowhere, which more or less is the reason for the spectacular views of the mountains behind the holes. The range, however, looked more like a cow pasture than a place to hit balls. The fairways were in solid conditions but had some very bare spots on them. The greens were in fine condition and on the slower side. All in all, a fun place to play!

Aside from the practice facilities, the property is incredible. Tight layout with immaculate greens provide a challenging yet fair test.
Sawgrass Country Club - South/West
Played On 08/01/2014What a place!
I have never played on more perfect greens. Fair green complexes but usually lots of wind makes course very very challenging
The clubhouse is complete and we hope you've been back or will be back soon to check it out! We could not be more proud of the Hanse redesign. Thanks for sharing your feedback, cheers!
