Nice greens, fun course, some of the fairways need some work but overall pretty good value compared with some of the other similarly priced courses

Great to have this course back open, this was our first time there since it reopened! Greens are in great shape generally and you can see there is work in progress ro restore the course to it’s best. We will play there again soon.

Played On 01/06/2022Fair Price For This Time Of Year
I’ve played this course for many years. like most courses at this time of year, it’s not in the greatest of shape but the greens are mostly ok and its a good place to play. Its also reasonably priced so gets really busy, hence my rating for pace of play which was slow but again, this time of year where isn’t? Nice friendly staff,

Played On 12/20/2021Some Ongoing Work But Nice Course
The course has changed since we last played there, mostly building work as more houses are under construction. That said, its not a huge issue and the course was priced accordingly. Some great holes on this course and the course is maturing nicely. The greens were decent in the main and like nearly all courses at this time of year, it needs some work & a thorough soaking but we enjoyed our day and will be back soon!

Played On 06/26/2018Good Challenge
Great course in a nice setting, fairways and greens in good condition. Nice design with some challenging holes which make you think and offer risk/ reward decisions. Lots of water/trees so if you are wayward, take plenty of golf balls!

Played On 06/19/2018Excellent Course
Challenging course in a fantastic setting. Great facilities interms of practice & clubhouse after you finish your round. A must play if you are in town,, the course is recovering (as is every course in the area) from adverse Spring weather conditions but still looks good. Greens are fast but true and in good condition, we’ve played 10 courses since we’ve been here and the greens are amongst the 3 best.and that includes the Disney courses. Summer rates are priced well so take advantage, as it gets expensive in peak season unsurprisingly. We can’t wait to go back!
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 06/10/2018Really Disapointing
This used to be a fantastic course a few years ago! Sadly its in terrible condition now, the greens were being worked on like most of the courses at this time of yesr but the problem was the state of the fairways and indeed even the tee boxes! The course was closed when we were here last summer and clearly has not recovered, there is work going on but much more is needed. Pace of play was fine as the course was empty. We got a cheap deal as the greens were being worked on but this is a $15 golf course right now so we overpaid!
Its such a shame to see how far this course has deteriorated, the facilities and course previously were up with the Disney courses and the off course facilities are still up there but it deserves a better course than is currently there. I hope they get it fixed but it will take some time I’m afraid!
ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 06/07/2018Great Course
Challenging course which uses every club in the bag! Lots of hazards so strategic play is sometimes good but long enough to require a degree of power also. We really enjoyed this course, it’s in a nice spot so the environment is pleasant and adds to the fun of the course. In summary, a must play if the price is right but it does get pricey in peak season, probably for the reasons that I have mentioned plus, the off course facilities are very good. So thumbs up from me!

Played On 06/05/2018Nice Challenging Course
Great scenery very similar to the Disney courses but less expensive. The course is in reasonable condition but much better than when we played there last summer,. There are some interesting holes which make you play strategically rather than just reaching for the driver off the tee, so you get to use all the clubs in the bag. Look forward to playing there again soon!

Played On 05/08/2018Under Reconstruction
We’ve played here many times before and if the price is right, it’s been good. The course is under major reconstruction so its not fair to judge it as is currently. For $15 its fair value in it’s current condition with temporary greens and oversize holes but it was fun and was decent practice for wverything but putting as the greens are as you would expect for temporary greens. It was quiet so it was a quick but fun, run round the course as it was very quiet. The new GPS on the carts is rendered almost useless as the new greens are not in play but still of use as you can calculate from the info given. I look forward to the finished article later this summer.
Highlands Reserve Golf Club
Played On 05/02/2018Nice Forgiving Course
Highlands is a welcome relief to losing golf ball to water hazards as is normal in Florida in that there are no water hazards to speak of!
We played later in the day so the course was quiet and the contrast to peak season a couple of months ago was stark and I mean that in a positive sense, the course gets too busy in peak season, so we tend not to play there during that time. That said it is in fair condition considering the amount of traffic and the lack of rain. Like almost every course in the area it is a bit dry and parched in places but hopefully the change in weather will help it recover over the coming months. The greens were in ok condition so if the price is right, it’s decent value.
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 04/26/2018Course Is in Poor Condition
Last played there in August last year and the new management had started to restore the course to its former glory and were making good progress.. Sadly the winter has not been kind to it and it’s in the worst condition I have ever seen it, in the 10 or so years I have been playing there, clearly the weather has been a factor as it looked dry and patchy and many of the tees are in poor shape. Hopefully a combination of a lot of rain and intensive maintainence during the summer will help bring it back, but meantime I would not be paying the morning rate for this course, cheap hot deals are ok, you get what you pay for but the full rate is not worth it for now. Shame to see, what was a nice course in a great setting, in such bad shape.

Played On 08/14/2017Course Improving
We've played here many times but recently the course has been in poor shape. Clearly the management are taking steps to address this and there are clear improvements, however it will take time to restore the course to it's best. With this in mind, it's worth playing if the price is right which it generally is.
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 08/04/2017Fairly New & Developing Course, Well Worth a Visit
Nice course in great condition, it's fairly new so they are still adding some water features which will add to the challenge which is already a pretty stiff test. It feels pretty long from the blue tees so the whites may be a better proposition for average players. The layout is pretty spread out with reasonably long distances between some of the holes but as your not walking it's no big deal. The clubhouse is under construction so there are limited temporary off course facilities but that will change when the clubhouse is completed. Well worth playing and look forward to playing there again soon.

Played On 05/11/2016Repair Work Underway
Having read previous reviews of the poor condition of some green and fairways, my expectation was managed. Since I got a $20 deal and not the full rate, it was ok but had I paid previously advertised rate I would have been disappointed This is a really nice course that needs quite a bit of work and time to recover. There is evidence that this is underway in many places with re-turfing in various areas. A few of the greens were virtually unplayable as the holes had been cut in some of the worst areas of damage which seemed strange given that most of the greens were large and had areas in better condition where locating the holes in these area would reduce even more wear and tear in the damaged areas. Hopefully the course will get back to peak condition sometime soon, as I said it's a good, challenging course in a nice setting but right now $20 is about right.
Legends Golf & Country Club
Played On 04/08/2016Slow Slow Slow
We've played Legends many many times and although it gets busy, it's never been a huge problem as it's fairly typical of most courses in the area. However, we played on Friday April 1st in the afternoon and it was terrible, slow, no Marshall and people who don't respect the etiquette and rules of the game! We played again on the 8th and it was worse, not busy yet it took us 4 hours and 50 minutes, according to the GPS! It was excruciating, we waited on every tee, there were 2 really slow foursomes causing a huge back up but again, with no Marshall,. Obviously foursomes are going to take a little more time no matter what the skill level, but these guys were poor players plus they played dumb, not ready golf and didn't get in position when they could and took an age on the greens. We won't be there next Friday!
Kissimmee Golf Club
Played On 03/11/2016It Was Cheap
There is a reason it's cheap! Poor layout and if low flying planes taking off or landing every few minutes put you off your game then go elsewhere! Greens were pretty good but fairways pretty hard and the grass isn't the best. The layout is pretty chaotic and with some tee shots you find that there are real possibilities of errant shots going over adjacent greens or fairways. There are better courses around at a similar price point.
The Legends at Orange Lake Resort
Played On 08/19/2015Fantastic Course
This is a really good test, Arnold Palmer design and you can see some similarities to Bayhill in some of the water guarded greens. Course is in good condition and is as good if not better than the somewhat overpriced Disney courses. Only one minor grumble was the pace of play due mainly to some hackers in front but we will definitely return there.
Sanctuary Ridge Golf Club
Played On 03/09/2015Different but slow
Sanctuary Ridge is a little different as it is built on a hilly area so there are lots of interesting elevation changes. Also there are a number of holes which give some decisions to make, ie go for it or play safe and lay up, which again adds to the enjoyment. However play was very slow (4.5 hours) and there was no Marshall to hurry things along. However the course is good and is good value. One minor gripe is the noisy carts which have petrol motors rather than electric
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 08/08/2014Excellent Course
Fantastic course in great condition, this was the first time we had played Mystic Dunes so it was pretty challenging but the "tip" facility on the GPS was really useful and saved a few shots. The greens were good if a little slower than most so took a bit of getting used to. We got a great deal from Golfnow which made this the best value ever!
