About

I am not a long ball blaster, With age (48) has come more about control than ball striking speed for me to be consistent . I drive 200, and love my Fairway and Hybrids in the fairways. And My Best feature is I am a "Master at the short game", is why I am a 10 and under HDC, and I leave myself a lot of 1 putts close. I practice chipping weekly at our local course range 3 times a week, and hitting out of the sand, and putting a lot. I Love going to new courses in our Lovely state of Wisconsin.

Not worth the Hype

Not worth the price they charge, Definitely not even close to number 4 Wisconsin rated golf courses. Construction going on on almost all the Woodlands course greens bunkers rock hard, don’t buy into the hype here. Very average at best

Rich Town Course

Played both courses many times. I like the Highlands the best, but a major draw back is after th hole it doesn’t bring you back to the club house, and half way house at 11 is NEVER OPEN. But recently they had a beverage cart out on the course. One of the best senic layouts in all of Lake Geneva . Shot makers course, but I will add, there greens were superb.
Sadly this I only play here on golf deals from golf apps when I can find them.. Lake Geneva Cater to the wealthy when it comes to the 7 courses in the area. Normally your looking at starting at $100.00 bucks and higher. Not worth the money here. Sad it that way here.

Nice Layout

Play as a last resort, it’s not very hard yet is challenging. . Has water on few holes but the sand traps are so far gone there not even play able. Course floods in the spring making some holes not even play able or can be a swamp like . And the greens here for a country club that’s run down are un put-able on all 18 holes. No one fix’s divots here, or does green s keepers or maintenance workers. The worst is the rough here. Over 3 to 6 inches high in all cases. Spent a lot of time searching for balls just off the fairways here. And to see they charge $65.00 on weekends is not worth that kind of money. Played it at twilight for $30. This place needs a lot of love to make it good again.

Great Hotdogs!

When you let golfers on your course with gym shorts and tee shirts you know the course is a cow pasture. I only played it because of my friends . Pace of play due to to many 2 sums was horrible, courses should team up 2 sums as 4 sums to speed up play. Only nice thing I will add is there greens are in very good shape. Some holes have giant trees by the greens making it difficult to pitch into the greens. Best hot dog though I ever had at golf course. Worth the price!

Fun Fun Fun

This track was a lot of fun because it’s not a long course even from the blues. A lot of elevation changes big plus! Loved there greens, very big! Very fair rolling greens! I love courses that make you play straight. This to me is definitely a shot makers course. And course management. I left my driver in my bag except pat 5’s. Fired a 78 by birding 17, and 18. worth the Hot deal I paid. Was extremely hot here. No breeze on the course due to developments all around this course. Had water jugs out there on benches but completely Empty

Way OVERRATED

I gave it a second chance, one chance to many, staff is great. But this course has a boring layout. I had to go back a set of tees the white tee boxes were so run down brown patches everywhere, off the fairways there rough hadn’t been cut in weeks. And ah there greens . They all had more craters than the moon. I had to fix on average 3 to 7 ball diviots just so I could putt. Half there greens were brown and there greens were rock hard. This course should be ashamed to ask more than $40 bucks to play. I play 3 times a week, this was a major disappointment. If you pay more than $40 jokes on you. This is so far from a championship course it’s truly laughable!!!! I fired a 88 with 9 three putts. There greens were so bad.

Hello David,
Sorry about your round of golf. Not sure but it snowed 6+" two of the last three weekends so rough anywhere around here is/was not even growing yet. As most all people know who play here, our greens are some of the best anywhere. Very sorry you were not in agreement. We take pride in providing some of the best course conditions anywhere in Chicagoland....if only the weather would cooperate. We welcome you back out anytime and we are confident you will not be disappointed.
Have a great day!

Friendly Decent Open Course Layout, Easy to Play.

I have played the Point before several years ago, and I got a great GN deal to play this course close to home. So I wanted to play golf , and I was paired up with 3 really great golfers, and I held my own with them, But this course even from the Blue's is a simple course. I holed out with 40-39=79. Very forgivable course. Great for beginners, and couples to enjoy. Great for friends to get together and play. The greens were in ok shape, I had to fix a lot of ball Divots on each green to putt in line with my ball. But I did like the roll on the greens ,semi quick. For the dog days of August the fairways were in decent shape as well. Had to fluff my ball to get decent lie for my shots, other wise I enjoyed my round with the guys I played with. Add the yardage and play from the Gold tees if you want any kind of a challenge here at the Point. other wise this course is average to short even from the blue tees. Traps needed work all the way around the course, if in them they were hard and crusty.

Nice one Time Course to Travel to on Bucket List.

I made the long 2 hour drive to Wolf Hollow to play this course located in Lena Illinois to see how this course was. I was paired up with 2 great guys from Wisconsin as well, whom had played this track before, so I had help with all the holes. And yes if your not a long ball hitter, you do face a lot of blind shots not only from the tees but fare ways as well. I hit my 3 wood all day here to the 150 markers as this course even from the blue tees where we played is not very long and not hard to navigate. I was on every green in two but maybe the par 5's. This is an easy course to play and it is drying out so the ball will roll for you off the tees to. Nice size greens and soft. And rolled a bit slow for me, but they were nice and green no burn spots. This would be a great course to bring a beginner to because of how easy it is. . And Brian was a great golfer whom I played with made me a better player here. he fired a 74, and I holed out being a 11 Handicap at 39-40=79 having 2 birdies on the first to holes. Loved the carved wolf statue on the back 9. Only difficult hole would be hole 16 and only because you have to drive through a funnel to the hill on the other side, but hit a 3 wood 200 and your facing being on in 2 and a birdie try, we did. I had fun playing it, but not much to bring me back to play again. But I would recommend it once. Enjoyed he rolling hills here though. Did not see any Wolfs though... Bummer....

Lots of Rolling Hills here to Enjoy!

Deer Valley has been on my Bucket list for quite awhile. I was in Madison or the weekend and played on twenty seven holes here. 3 completely different 9 Hole Courses, but I loved the lay out. First let me say I liked the staff's help. And getting a free yardage booklet to all first time players is sure class. A lot of course you have to buy them, so Bravo. I was paired up with 2 soon to be college young men, and we hit the Ridge course, I played the god's on all 3 courses, or back tee's. And did not find difficult at all. The ridge has no hard holes on it. The famed par 3 5th hole is very easy, hit a wedge and your dancing on the green from any tee block. The Ridge is a nice layout of rolling hill land scape, but wide open and always bale out to the left to play safe. But huge fairways makes the Ridges very ease to play for all levels, hard to loose a ball on the Ridges.
On to the next 9 the young men ad I Played the Back 9 to this 27 hole layout called the Prairie. Now the Prairie had again rolling hills and some blind shots, but again id open fairways makes this fairly easy even to a beginner golfer. And it plays shorter tan the Ridges by a few hundred yards. But the only tuff hole here on this 9 was and I pared it was hole 11. From the gold nice polk, finally a par 3 that had some distance at 218. But I watched the boys I played with from the whites on the prairie nearly drive a few greens. so this 18 Holes is not long at all, but average length a best for this 2 9s. They have as there 18 Hole Course. The View were breath taking, but this was very ease to play, I holed out from the gold's with a ridge 9 score of 40, and a Prairie9 score of 40=80.
Then I went on to play what I considered the Valley course to be the hidden gem of this layout. Talk about playing bowling bowl golf here. What I mean is, that this 9' s very sort, but lake playing on a bowling lane. so Narrow. If your a great golfer a it straight every time, u will shoot par here. Though a par 35 only, This course is tricky. I had 4 par's but 5 Double B's Here for a 45. The Valley Chewed me up. Nice place. Great 1 time play. I would Recommend it!!!

Back in the middle of no where is Devils Head

I played Devils Head's Glacier Course for a steel of a price thanks to GN. I was paired up witch I like with a older brother & sister team, and enjoyed there company. When I got there they were having a lot of traffic due to an golf outing finishing up. But the course was not as I thought it would be. And having only 3 sets of tee boxes 2 for the guys and one woman's tees. I played the back tees and found it fairly easy. After the first 2 holes the course got a bit better I used a 3 wood and was in the middle all day here, and when I hit the wide open holes used my driver and played smart off the tees here and I only lost one ball on 18 because I was 185 out a fired a 5 wood to the green and the pin was tucked in back left corner and I just missed clearing the water as it bounced off the wall. Has a nice layout, but play before the afternoon because the misquitos will effect your round being deep into the woods here. Was a fun one time play and I played on a second round day after playing in Madison in the morning, was only an hour drive here. The greens were the great thing here, Soft so you could fire at them and stick and not bounce off. And fairly big greens. I would say Glacier is senic to. I had fun getting through it with my playing partners, and Mary was the gal I played with, and she could play for being in her 50's. As could Bob. We finished this course under 4 hours which I love. I would recommend playing here a couple times. I holed out this track with a 43-40=83 which is my handicap 11. And thank god on hole 9 or 10 you hit toward a pond on the right. well I hit my second shot here towards the ob be pin high, I found it, I got a shocker,, as I stepped right next to a rattle snake that was dead, see photos as proof. If it was alive it was about a 6 footer, I would of been bitten. WOW!!!

Best Course in Madison Area!!!!! Top 10 in WI.

The Best course I have personally Played in the state of Wisconsin, sorry the Bull, it beats you but not by much. Great staff here, from the moment you arrive, you know your in a special golf facility. From the starter to the round it self, you feel special playing where many major state events are held, and where the Badgers teams compete, I got paired up with 3 great gentleman and had the time of my life here. And played well to. Played from the Blues I fired a 40-43=83. No lost balls. Very nice layout here and you use all the clubs in your bad here. If I had one concern, we were told he state open was being played the following weekend, and the greens had been air rated, you could tell. YOU could still see the marks, and the greens were not perfect by ok for putting. I loved this place and hope to get back here again this fall. Pretty open course, and the par 3's were made to score well here. Beautiful is how I describe University Ridge. WOW!!!!! I loved the fact that the course greens were damp, and you could fire at the flag and stick the ball on the green close.

Well Worth the Drive, This Is AWESOME COURSE!

I have to say I was looking forward to playing Eagles Bluff. So I made the long track out there and played it on a Saturday afternoon. Great Staff and I got to meet the owner, Very Nice Man. The course was in Mint shape. And though they had a lot of rain the week before I played it, it was awesome. I played this course from the black tip tees and found it to be everything I could handle. You better be straight of your coming home over 100, for sure. I shot my 3 wood a lot here except the par 5's and stayed in play but had a lot of back to back 3 wood shots on each hole to reach the greens from the back tees. Now if you want to enjoy a round move up to the Blues or whites and you can score way better. I holed out with a 41-42=83 Here from the back tees. I even Birdied the long par 5 on the back, Which is 705 yards from the tips. I hit Driver, 3 wood, 4 Iron 190 yards over the water, and stuck the pin at 7 feet away for a Birdie Putt. My Best hole of golf ever to this day. But know if you hope to beat this course you will have to, and I mean have to hit the ball straight, very narrow fairways, but the greens the day I played here were so soft you could stick the greens. And the greens were in the best shape. Tis course has it all, Sand, water, doglegs, elevation changes all over this layout. The 16th par 3 from no matter ware you play it is breath taking view. And I still think hole 17 from back tees should be outlawed. Is very narrow opening from back tees even the blues is tuff to keep your ball low and not hit the trees here. I highly recommend this course, worth the drive and time to go here I had a ball here, and used every club in my bag. Awesome, Awesome Course. 5 stars, I would give it at least 9 of ten... To me this is not a beginner track, you will loose to many balls here, this course is not for the weak, it's for the people who can play well... Best course in Missouri.

Was Fun One Time Play!

This is a nice park district course, was disappointed it only has one woman's Tees and one set of men's tees. Is a short course with a lot of trees, But this course is in great shape. Is a mixed bad of driving and walkers here. I wanted to walk it, and had no trouble being 250 pounds. Not very terrain. Smart play here is use your 3 wood or 3 iron off the tee to par every hole. Staff is awesome here and very friendly And greens were in good shape here, and snack shop has nice selection making the turn here. Holed out with a disappointing 44- 38=82. I tried to hit driver on the front and found the tree gods. Hit the back and clubbed down and scored very well. Good beginner course. Not much for the above average golfer here. I heard a lot of trees like over 300 are coming down due to that Asian bug.

I Absolutely LOVED the Leangth Here.

I played this course in the scorching heat of summer at 3pm on a Saturday, with humid conditions. But hey for great price to walk this course I found my rate like stealing my round here. I knew I would go to back black tees for fun and see how this course would shape to my golf game. And playing the back tees here is a major difference from playing from the whites here. Rated almost a 75 here, I knew I would be hitting driver, and a lot of three woods to the greens. Course was in decent shape, roughs were a little higher than I like to see. nice fairways, and the greens were in excellent shape, but I found the greens pretty flat here. and about average size, but the ball rolled well here off the putter. I holed out with a 40 on the front side, its not very difficult to play. But I got some water as I made the turn and walked down the hill and up to hole 10 and the heat started getting to me, sweting a lot, and having club grip slipping, But the back is very nice layout. I hit well but the walking the long distances and swetty hands made it hard to really drive it to max flight for me, Holed out with a 47 on back and holing out with a 87. I left a lot of shots on the course I normally make. In all was my favorite Rockford Park District course thus far. was a lot of fun to play this course would recommend it big time.

Worth Just A One time Play Here...

I played White Pines as a departing Ohio weekend course on Sunday. Out in the middle of no where I did like, But when I arrived I was amazed at the course traffic at 9 AM. Seems everyone knows of this course in Toledo. I played the course in reverse, back 9 first and front nine second with couple of local guys. Due to heavy rainsin Ohio, this course was wet. And roughs very high. I was surprised it was open so much water out on the course, was like playing a swamp. But I will not hold this against the course. Course is very open and scattered trees all over. Only 2 tee boxes for the men. But I played the back and it was more challenging with much more distance to the course. I recommend playing from the backs if you want a challenge, the fronts or white tees are way to easy even for the average golfer, Greens in great shape with good roll, not much of degree of slope to the greens here, pretty flat. One difficult hole here on the back sharp dog leg left if you do not make the corner on drive it becomes a hard hole. Staff was nice, and people on course where very nice. And I like courses that you have little to no back to back holes, and this course keeps you away from on coming golfers. Nothing special White Pines, But I Enjoyed this one time play course in Ohio.

Thunder & Lightning Oh My!!!!! Got it DONE!

Had a 3:30pm tee time here in after noon and when I arrived so did the thunder storm. Every one called off the course and had an 1 hour and 30 minute rain delay due to heavy storms passing through, but at 5 pm me and my new bud Craig I just met, everyone went to the first tee who stayed, and we hit the back 9 running. I was impressed not only buy the course conditions of drainage after that heavy storm, but the course it self is senic and beautiful all the way around. And the greens played very well after the rain. No Swampy type greens here. was nice. Greens in top shape, not a divot to be had really. Rough was the tough part here, very high rough, but I do not blame the course for all the rain they had. Plush fairways. And the look you get making 9th hole and 18th hole coming at the club house is breath taking. We motored this course in under 3 1/2 hours. And what more can I say about Craig, What a super local ohio'n nice man. Now friends I can talk a lot out there, and Craig loved my many stores, And when we finished we shook hands like men and said good bye, and I will never forget the great round we played this day. Laughing. I have to share one hole though, hole 16 I believe is a par 3 185 from tips I think, close anyway. And I hit a 4 iron pin high but down the hill on left to steep incline to the hole. Popped a wedge up and in for a birdie hole out off the green from 23 yards. Awesome!!!!!!! My 7th hole out of the season after playing 55 rounds this season. And my 25th, Birdie 2 on par 3's. I left here again thanking god for letting the rains stop and getting in our 18 holes and a good Guy I met. Thanks for the challenge Stone Ridge. I fired a 40-43=83 Again shooting my HDC 11. from tips.

Change of Pace. 1st course in Ohio for me! WET!

I would say Red Hawk run is an open course. I played it from the tips and at 7,400 yards and would say bravo to the course management from this distance. It plays long. My most memorable hole would of been Hole 3 par 3, 203 yards from the tips or black tees and I hit a 3 wood 6 inches from a hole in one. Tap in birdie. So close yet so far away. But the kicker is you have to fly the pond hole way 190 in the air across the water. Pin was up to. But the course was soaked, and like playing a swamp. Due to heavy rains over night to playing here. And the course had puddles every where. But I do not blame the course or management for the conditions, I was surprised they were even open after playing 3 holes. So wet conditions. I came all the way from Wisconsin to play here 6 1/2 hours and was glad I chose this as one of the 2 courses to play this day. The back 9 first par 3 again 200 plus yards I hit another 3 wood to within 10 feet of the flag. Again over water. I thrive on long pond shot par 3's. I thought the greens were rather small here, but in great shape. No ball divots here on the greens, again Bravo. I enjoyed my morning round here and fired a 41-42=83 from the back set of black tees here. Shot my HDC. I would recommend this course to others. And the course was in plush colors for this time of year. And good placement of the bunkers, I would like to have seen more sand on this course, make it harder. I left very Happy!!! Very nice people here. and helpful.

Veyr Muggy Sunday Mid Day Round

I thought seeing the first hole this was going to be a challenging course with tons of peaks and valleys, and all terrain shots. But was so disappointed when I got to hole 2 to hole 8, and holes 11 to 17. Flat and boring holes with not many obsticles except a lot of spread out trees that do not really come into play. Course was in average at best shape. The course web site and playing it 2 totally different senaireos . My high light was meeting up with an older man in his 70's named Dayton. Man this guy could still hit the ball straight and far. And a fast player. We passed through 2 two sums/ believe that?? Greens were in great shape here. putted very well. But only hole 1, 9, 10 & 18 were the only holes with any challenge at all. Fired an even 40-41=81 Here From back tees, not a long course at all. Semi Average at best. Was a decent one time play course as I call them.

Great location in Bardstown Kentucky!!! FUN!!!

I played this course after morning round, and played it for great G N Price, I dropped 2 balls here because when I teed off there was no one playing on a Thursday afternoon. So I hit from Black tees and the gold tees. This course has 5 sets of tees. Back black tees has 7,240 Yards and Gold tees only 6,165 Yards, rating 75.2/ 70.2. This course started out plain and I did not expect this, and after heavy rain this course drained moderately many wet spots early. Has 2 Par 5's which I loved at 600 plus yards but pretty flat holes. And has a 465 yard par 4 hole here. I love distance courses. 7, 8, 9, are a challenge, and elevated holes. Back nine holes 13, 14, 16, 18 present tuff challenges on back side. others are rolling train but easy to manage. Built inside a very Luxury housing development was nice to see the nice houses built here. Again this course lets you rest a couple holes and then gives you some tuff holes on each nine. I found ths course easy to navigate though. I liked the length from the back now that's a rue test if you come and play here. But from the Gold or Whites this course is a breeze and very easy to get around. I shot within my handicap from the blacks easy, and from the gold extremely easy. This course has patches of dry and burnt grass. Has Kentucky mud that's for sure. Greens in Fair conditions here, many Divot spots. again I fixed several. greens had decent roll. I would recommend if you want to challenge this course step back to the blacks, or this course is super easy. Very friendly people here. And when I got done playing 36 holes here the sun came out. Holed out with Black tees at 42-41=83, and gold's 37-38=75. I had fun in my Kentucky golf experience.
