slow play always hurts the experience

12:08 tee time on a Tuesday. 5 hours to play. Were paired with another twosome. After the first 4 holes, we had to wait on every hole. On the par 3s there would be a group on the green and 2 groups waiting to tee off. Rangers with clipboards everywhere, apparently monitoring the situation but not saying anything to anyone or doing anything about the slow play.

I don't know why some courses do not care about slow play. It hurts the experience for golfers who want to play a nice and challenging course. If you ever play The Country Club in Brookline, MA and play slow, the pros will make you take what they call the ride of shame. they put you in a cart and drive you to the next hole. This is for members and guests. Everyone falls in line. For the rangers at Silver Rock to sit in carts and watch people play slow and say nothing is ridiculous.
