Outstanding architecture with lake views to match

Top line: come for the lake views and high national ranking, stay for the unique architecture and variety of shots

Had the pleasure of playing an early morning round at Edgewood and was blown away. From the obvious of the lake views and exceptional conditions to the subtle of the way different holes required a wide variety of shots, and how deceptive the greens are. The way the routing cuts through pines, and ends up right along the Lake it is a true delight!

Bottom line: worth traveling to Tahoe just to play this course.

Solid Muni Track

Top line: well constructed, well maintained fun track

Falls Road golf course is a very good muni course. Each hole is thoughtfully constructed requiring a variety of shot. The conditions very good (I played in winter and it was it solid condition). Staff is friendly and clubhouse is good, with a very good restaurant. In past times I have played, the pace of play can get a little slow and it can be difficult to get a spot at the driving range, but overall, it is a great and really fun track!

Bottom line: if you are in the area, this place is worth a try!

Fun layout with some challenging shots

Top line: Brookshire is a good municipal course with a lot of interesting holes

Overall Brookshire is a good course. Apparently it was a private course that since been bought by the City of Carmel. Most of the holes are interesting and require a decent amount of ‘shot making’, but there are a few holes on the front that are fairly straightforward. Conditions were just fine, clubhouse is a little underwhelming.

Bottom line: a fun track that I would recommend to play.

Outstanding views with poor conditions

Top line: expensive course with sub-par muni conditions

I, like most golfers, had the Torrey Pines as a ‘must play’ on my list. While I don’t regret playing it again, you need to lower your expectations for the conditions. If you are playing $200+ for a round of golf, one would expect for there not to be standing water in bunkers and tee boxes that were dirt patches... The layout was very cool that required lots of different shots, and the views were the absolute best.

Bottom line: while it was fun to play the course the Pros play, poor conditions made it less fun

Some good, some meh

Top line: a great conditioned course with even better city views

Some of the holes on this course are great! Lot of 'shot making' with blind-ish shots and accuracy required. Some of the holes on this course are very basic, especially considering the $150+ price tag to play the course. Having said that, the staff is very friendly (plus free coffee!) and the conditions of the course are very good. The real show stopper of the course is the views of the greater Seattle area (you can see both Seattle and Belluve).

Bottom line: if you want to throw down on a round of golf, this is a good option.

Knock out views with a layout to match

Top line: a famed course that has amazing views but some seriously fun golf holes.

I watche nearly every second of the US Open when it was at Chambers, so playing this course has been high on my list for some time. The layout of the course was spectacular. A great mix of shots, some tight holes some that are wide open. He one constant is that you want to be accurate off the tee because there are massive waste bunkers on the course. It is a little pricey (we splurged for caddies which was totally worth it) but if you have a chance the course was worth it.

Bottom line: play this course, it does not disappoint

Shot makers paradise

Top line: tree lines course that requires ball placement

Let me disclaim, this is my home course, so I have played it hundreds of times. FCC has a great track that requires shot making. The big knock against it is that it isn't that long (only 6200 from the tips) and I usually only have to hit driver a few times a round. It does have a ton of doglegs so it does enable you to need be careful, there are times you could be in the fareway and not have a look at the flag. Conditions are great, so no complaints there. Staff/food/drinks all good as well.

Bottom line: fun track that requires you to think
