Lake Wales Country Club
Played On 02/17/2023Not worth playing.
Arrived and waited in the golf shop (which had almost nothing in it!) and after 15 or so minutes someone finally came in. I paid and was told no range balls and no starter.
Putting green in very poor condition, bare spots and dandelions all over it. The course green were much the same. Bare spots and tufts of either crab grass or dandelions, it was difficult to tell.
Bunkers were terrible. Fairways were ok in spots.
Pace of play was very bad. Three of the groups in front were 5 somes! and they all played 2 balls each off the first tee.
Overall I will not go back which is a shame as this was once a wonderful place to play. Sad that a Donald Ross course has fallen into these conditions.

First, the course. Greens were fantastic! Fairways quite good for this time of year and the rough was think.
It is really important that players select the right tees in order to enjoys the round.
Now the bad....we spent all day with the group behind us on the tee boxes with us. They obviously didn't see the group right in front of us as they continually hit into us.
Group in front played most of the day with a full hole open in front of them, nobody there to get them moving and they just didn't care. We were just under 5 hours!!!
Can't say I would go back if this is the normal pace of play. Lots of great golf in the area without having the round take 5 hours!!!
White Heron Golf Club
Played On 12/29/2020On the come back
The new management has made some great progress towards y tight and could be intimidating for the higher handicap golfer. Play the right tees and there is fun to be had!
Staff was very friendly, carts are new high end Yamaha. They do not have GOS, so bring a rangefinder or Skycaddy.
Great shot game practice area, but the only negative I can comment on is that the practice area is still a work in progress. The rest of the positives more than make up for it.
East at Grenelefe Golf & Tennis Resort
Played On 01/05/2020Disappointing
After being told that the course has been closed for 6 months and completely overseeded I expected quite a bit more. The greens were terrible with bare spots, bumps and very very slow (estimate about a 5 on the stimpmeter). The fairways had more crabgrass than anything else and the bunkers were all hardpan.
I've played here for over 25 years as a member and homeowner and to see the courses in this condition is pretty sad.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 12/30/2017Pretty poor
I have to say that the conditions of this course have degraded very quickly. The greens were terrible and there was one temporary. We played here 14 days ago and things were MUCH better. There was no mention of the temp when we checked in. The greens have been overseeded and look like they have not been cut in a week. For the money there are many other courses in much better condition in the area. We can't see going back anytime soon.
ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 12/29/2016Interesting layout
The layout has very long distances between holes. Fantastic greens, good fairways and very nice bunkers.
I would recommend it if the pace of play was reasonable, but at over 5 hours it defiantly was not.
No on course staff, gas carts.
Providence Golf Club
Played On 01/07/2015Intetesting hole layout
A very nice layout. The staff and on course range could not have been nicer. Pace of pay was aabit slow due tI a group of 10 in front of us.
The green speed seemed to be inconsistent from one to the next but we're in very good condition.
At 6900+ yards it present a very good test of your game.
I would go back for another round.
International Golf Club - Oaks Course
Played On 11/23/2014Great layout
A great layout, but the pace of pay was pretty slow. Also, the conditions were very good given that it is November in New England but I don't think the conditions were good enough for the fee of $99.
$50 - $60 would have been more in order.
ChampionsGate Golf Club - National
Played On 12/25/2013Nice layout
Pretty nice layout, lots of holes with different character.
Green speed was a bit on the slow side. Lack of starter made determining when you had the tee a bit interesting.
Grand Cypress Golf Club - Links Course
Played On 12/24/2013Lots of fun, but not links golf
Great layout, wind is the defense for this course. Greens were PERFECT. Although designed as a style course this definitely does not play like a links course. Very little run in the fairways and the greens will hold pretty much any club you hit in.
Still, a very tough test of golf in the wind.
Wish the GPS offered a bit more information and was easier to see in the sunlight.
Worth the trip to play....
Oaks Course at Stonegate Golf Club
Played On 12/1/2013Fun course, interesting holes.
A very nice course. Multiple sets of tees allow a player on any ability to pick the right ones to enjoy the round. Greens were very nice, with consistant speed.
Bring your own GPS or smartphone with a good Golf GPS application.
Grand Cypress - North/South
Played On 11/28/2013South 9 is the one to play!
Played South to East. South was in fantastic condition. The East was very nice not to the standard of the South. I would try to play South/North.
Mystic Dunes Golf Club
Played On 11/27/2013Very inconsistant green speeds.
All that was missing from the greens was the windmill! Some were very slow and some pretty fast. Even though it was a very windy day the greens staff was spraying chemical which was blowing everywhere, and all over us. We would not go back....
Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course
Played On 11/26/2013In very good condition, the green speed was very consistant.
Worth a round if in the area. Pretty tight through the trees and resort properties. Rewards shotmaking over length.
Thank You for the feedback I will have a discussion with my staff about your experience and do my best to see that does not happen again. Please contact me when you visit our course again I would like to meet you.
Sincerely,
