my group arrived well in advance of our tee time, only to meet a somewhat grumpy employee at the bag drop. We went into the proshop an ran into a pleasant person who helped us swiftly and courteously. The starter was extremely courteous as was the course marshall.

The condition of the course was barely ok. The greens were just ok, the fairways were just ok, but the tee boxes were horrible. They were not in very good shape and were obviously not level. The sand traps were extremely hard...seems as though there has been no attempt to condition the sand properly. There even was landscape fabric sticking out of a sand trap on the white course. It is obvious to me that the head greenskeeper is not very attentive towards keeping his course well-groomed. I also picked up lots of bits of paper and a fair amount of candy bar wrappers...seems as though the marshall could do that.

The pace of play was fine...the layout was fine

For the money , this course was not a very good value for the money. I played a course in the chandler area that was immaculate. The greens were pure, the fairways were like carpet, and the course was challenging. Ocatillo is a resort course with too many short easy holes. The water hardly ever comes into play.
