Windmill Lakes Golf Club
Played On 07/03/2017Par for the course
I've been playing this course since the early 80's.
It is my "go to" course of choice. While it's obviously not Pebble Beach, it stands out as one of the best courses I've played public or private, and I've played many outstanding international courses over the last 40 years. I rate Windmill Lakes as not a Birdy or Eagle, but a solid Par. It is always in very good condition and has excellent length with good verity of tight and open holes. I highly recommend this course.
Gleneagles Golf Club
Played On 7/17/2013Very attractive golf course
This course has dog legs on almost every hole. There is room to play safe but to score well requires some local knowledge and risks. The greens are very fast and demand good reading skills. The hazards are fair but can be significant if challenged. Conditions were very good considering all the heavy rain before we played. The range and practice greens are also very good. Food service is minimal and the clubhouse and pro-shop are small. Definitely a course for play rather than socializing, but with a pavilion for outings. It is a pleasure to play .
River/Maple at Fowler's Mill Golf Course
Played On 7/5/2013very good course
this course requires thinking, its not a bang 'em type of course. you must place your shots to score well. hitting the fairway isn't good enough. conditions are well above average and there's nice scenery. it's Pete Dye's first course and worth a play for that reason alone.
