Willowbrook Executive Golf Course at Willowcreek Golf Course
Played On 04/16/2021A Good Place To Spend A Few Hours
This is a nothing fancy “executive” course of approximately 4,000 yards. It is in good shape and easy to walk. You can use your driver on several holes though the majority are par threes. The staff is very friendly and the course has very good practice facilities. I’ll be back.
Dove Valley Ranch Golf Club
Played On 04/12/2021A Good Course
The course is in good condition. The back nine is a bit more challenging and tighter than the front nine. Greens roll true. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Practice area is above average. Course bunkers have rakes. Unfortunately, no water is available on the course to refill your containers.
Asheville Municipal Golf Course
Played On 10/03/2018Poor Course Conditions
Unfortunately, poor course conditions and lack of course marshals have ruined a real gem of a course that I’ve always looked forward to playing over the years. Fairways are in fair shape but many greens and tee boxes are in bad shape with large patches of bare dirt. Worst, the pace of play is extremely slow. Fivesomes are allowed with many golfers marking very, very short putts and allowing others to putt out before fininishing — perhaps the soft greens encourages this common practice. I never saw a marshal and this course could use several. I left after 13 holes because it was so frustrating waiting 10 minutes between each shot. On the positive side, the staff is very friendly and the maintenance crew is taking steps to improve conditions. Hopefully, the Asheville Muni will return to be a course I and others will want to play while visiting Asheville.
Seminole Lake Country Club
Played On 04/28/2017Course in Excellent Condition
An older course in excellent conditions. The greens are probably the best conditioned in the area and the fairways are also in very good shape. The course layout is flat and very typical for the area. Water comes into play on several holes. A very nice practice area with bunker, chipping green, range and putting green.
Rocky River Golf Club at Concord
Played On 09/08/2016Course In Great Shape
The course is in excellent shape. The greens are some of the best I've played on. Fairways and tee boxes are also very good. The only complaint I have is that the range balls need to be replaced and upgraded. Also, it would be nice if there was a practice bunker. Overall an excellent value and pleasure to play.
Tobacco Road Golf Club

Our first time to play TR. An extremely challenging course built in an old sand quarry with numerous forced carries, waste areas, elevation changes, undulating greens and blind shots. TR has a course layout app and an excellent yardage book but best to play with someone who has played the course several times. You had better hit your shots straight and know how far you hit each club. TR is probably one of the best courses I've ever played. You'll use every club in the bag and be mentally exhausted at the end. Great fun and I can hardly wait to play TR again.
Tot Hill Farm Golf Club
Played On 09/05/2016Greens Are Poor
I've played THF several times over the last few years though it has been several months since my last trip. The course is still an excellent, challenging layout with a friendly staff. Unfortunately, the other recent reviews about poor green conditions are true. Several had numerous bald patches. The course had recently aerated the greens which hopefully will get them back into their usual fine condition with time. Fairways and tee boxes remain in good shape.

Played On 09/19/2014Wow!!!
A slope of 144 at 6543 yards says it all. You'll use every club and you had better hit them straight and know how far each goes. Extreme elevation changes, long forced carries and many false fronts. Bunkers, fairways and greens in excellent shape in a beautiful setting. Friendly staff. Not a course for beginners.
Golf Club of Estrella
Played On 09/11/2014Too Challenging For Some
A well maintained and challenging course in a desert environment. Unfortunately, there were many on the course who didn't have enough game for it and play was extraordinarily slow. The staff recognized the problem and offered refunds and/or rain checks even though we had already started the back nine -- a class act. I will be back the next time I'm in the area.
Westport Golf Course
Played On 07/17/2014Challenging Course
This is a tough course. Very hilly with some tight fairways. It would be difficult to walk due to altitude changes and I'm normally a walker. One cannot always use a driver on the par fours and fives due to water and/or narrowness of landing zones. Course is in excellent condition. Friendly and helpful staff.
