ChampionsGate Country Club
Played On 11/19/2016Best course in Orlando for the money!
This is my third time playing the course and it gets better every time! I was a single and got paired up with a super-nice family on vacation from the UK, the company was fantastic and so was the weather. Warning - this course can be a beast if you don't play it from the proper tees! I play to about a 5 handicap and can put it out there pretty far, but the gold tees (tips) were almost too much...only played them because the Brits were and I didn't want to back down! There are several forced carries of well over 230 yards and some fairly long approach shots - the greens hold the ball well, but if you are above the hole you need to be very careful with your putts! The greens were running about 11 on the day I played and seemed to have a lot of break in them - fair, but somewhat difficult. Overall this is a great track with a friendly staff. No clubhouse yet, but don't let this deter you from playing here. Liked it better than OCN and all of the resort courses - cant wait to play it again!
Island Pointe Golf Club
Played On 08/14/2014Unique and challenging layout...no two holes alike!
Played as a single on a Thursday afternoon - had a 1:09 tee time, but arrived early and they got me right out! Extremely friendly staff! The practice facility is excellent - wide grass driving range with large chipping and putting greens. The course gets your attention right out of the gate - played from the back tees - not overly long, but you have to be in the fairway to score as the greens have plenty of slope. The par threes were very tough - number 3 is a 195 yard shot that is all carry across the river - make sure you have enough club! I thoroughly enjoyed this course and will play again when back in the great Smokey Mountains!

Played On 06/10/2014Not as good as advertised
Had high hopes for this course after reading several reviews, but was disappointed after playing the first hole. The driving range conditions were nice, but I noticed that there was a lot of sand on the practice greens - the actual holes were no different - very sandy and bumpy. The tee boxes were some of the worst I have seen for the price I paid - in fact I have paid much less and had better overall conditions. There are some interesting holes and the cart staff was friendly, so not all bad, but certainly not what I was expecting - especially after playing Celebration the day before for only 10 dollars more with lunch included.
Celebration Golf Club
Played On 06/09/2014Pristine conditions!
Very well maintained course with fairly quick greens and some difficult pin locations - plays pretty tough from the tips! Excellent restaurant with very friendly staff. Cart attendants were extremely helpful. Very good course for the money - especially with the golfnow.com meal packages!
